If you are OK with wired then get Phillips SHP-9500 with a vModa Boompro. I've been using that for years now and I have no complaints.
shp9600. Spare parts are easy to find, build quality is great for the price. I love my shp9500 and it's still in good condition even after 7 years. I bet the 9600 is better since the treble isn't as piercing as the 9500
shp9500, makes me value good mids over boosted bass. Now I'm happy with both my hd660s and hd620s. I also got a few pair of iems which are great, but never actually use anymore. Still wondering if I should sell them lol
shp9500 for me. Reliable, still working fine after many years.
The shp9500 is alright, but I think the shp9600 should be the move right now, especially with the lower treble it offers. Shp9500 treble is just sibilance
lots agreed that the 9500 is sibilance
I still have my shp9500 that I bought 6 years ago and I still love them. For the price I think it is a good headphone. But they are a very bright sounding headphones that a lot of people find them sibilance.
shp9500. I know they're considered budget or entry level, but my mom bought it for me for my 17th birthday 5 years ago. It's what got me started in this hobby. I spent hours listening to it everyday throughout college. They're still functioning and look brand new! But I give it to my little sister who also seems to be enjoying them
Yes.. I use a philips shp 9500 for years, never want to go back to a "gaming headset" they make my ears vomit every time I compare to my Philips 🎧 but I haven't try gaming headset nowadays, the one I'm comparing and I still have it for occasional usage is steelseries arctis 1 wireless.. just because it's wireless and it can produce sound and bass that's it.
I use the Philips SHP-9500. Solid, budget, dedicated wired headphones. Works great connected to my Denon receiver for movies and stuff.
I have both the shp9500 and the jt1. JT1 has good bass but the soundstage compared to the shp9500 is tiny, imaging is also noticeably worse. That being said, i exclusively use the JT1 now. Found this thread while looking for a replacement for the JT1 actually.
Phillips SHP9500. Forget “Gaming headphones”. Buy a separate mic.
