Thanks for your review, I also own a M3 and I’m upgrading to the HDB 630’s so this was very insightful :)
r/sennheiser • A week with the HDB 630's - upgraded from Momentum 3's. My review. ->If possible (i know its not always) go and have a listen to some. I use the sennheiser momentum 3 and they sound good to me. Metal in parts of the build make them feel better quality. I personally liked their sound signature over the Sony's.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • Best Bluetooth over ear Headphones? Please read below ->This is me except I got the Sennheiser Momentum 3 and Elgato wave 3. Though they are pricey, it was 100% worth it to have something commuter friendly.
r/buildapc • The Best Gaming Headset to Buy Now? ->Where there's a will theres a way! Personally I love my Sennheiser Momentum 3 Over Ears for a Bluetooth option.
r/headphones • Is this the best bluetooth headphone one could possibly get?! ->Personally I can game with them comfortably, the design is a little lighter than comparable models, the earpads are super cushy too, very soft and comfortable. Its a kind of leather/pleather type of cushion, so it can get a little warm and you might sweat, but I've even worked out with them before when my earnuds were dead. I feel like the sound quality is where they really shine though, its not quite the HD800s in resolving detail, but its close and the bass blows those out of the water. Ive tried the Sony and Bose OE Bluetooth models as well and prefer the Sennys. It works well for phone calls too, so I'm sure it would work well for gamechat.
r/headphones • Is this the best bluetooth headphone one could possibly get?! ->Damn that sucks, glad you're happy with them! Oddly the 3s test a bit better than the 4s and have a drastically different design, they went more conventional with the 4s. But id still say theyre a better option than the typical Sony or Bose noise canceling Bluetooth sets.
r/headphones • Is this the best bluetooth headphone one could possibly get?! ->Probably a set of Bluetooth headphones or earbuds. The Sennheiser Momentum series over the ears is great for, I have the 3s, I also have the Status Between 3 ANCs, and they're amazing for buds.
r/audiophile • Music gift for a teenager ->momentum 3 też są super, nawet lepiej wykonane niz 4 i tanie używki. 4 maja za to lepsze anc.
r/Polska • Słuchawki nauszne bezprzewodowe do 600-700 zł ->I highly recommend the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless noise cancelling headphones. Nice thing about them is you can turn the noise cancelling feature on or off, which is handy. With the noise cancelling off, you can muffle the sound of the environment, but still hear what's going on around you. I use that setting most of the time, including the shop. The only time I turn it on is when I'm on an airplane or really want to tune out the world. I fancy myself an audiophile, and they have a nice balance between sound quality, comfort and price. I have the older version though, can't vouch for the current one. BTW, when I'm in the shop I never play anything distracting, like music. Just sports talk, podcasts, that sort of thing. It just takes a second of being distracted for something bad to happen.
r/woodworking • What headphones are you guys using in the shop? ->Finally someone reviewing the HDB 630 that used to have a Momentum 3! How's the ANC of these new cans compared to the M3? The only disappointment I have with my 5-year old M3s is the ANC performance that is not particularly great (and the battery life that isn't great anymore), but I love its sound and would like a similar sound signature while upgrading the ANC. This is actually the main reason for why I never went with the Momentum 4, as it is more bass-heavy.
r/headphones • HDB 630 review plus some extra thoughts ->So I originally had some Sony XM3's I got for work due to the machines being exceedingly noisy. Not needing ear protection, not really, but close, so I bought those and used them for over a year, the ANC was great. The sound was definitely too bassy. Comfort was excellent. Eventually I started having issues with the 3.5mm connection, and without bothering to understand it was my cable gone bad, I went into looking for something new. I've always been a Sennheiser headphone guy, since I got the Sennheiser PC350's in 2010. For a gaming headset, it was excellent, I even used Hero's Mod, for anyone who knows what that is. Eventually I purchased a pair of dedicated HD598SE when I saw an excellent sale. They were great for the uses I have for headphones. Comfort was kind of awkward honestly, but the sound was so good you just don't really care. So naturally I thought to see if there were any ANC Headphones for Sennheiser, I had naturally went Sony due to both price and a lot of people at work having them. I saw the Momentum 3's and saw a decent discount(at the time, though still more expensive than the XM series). They took abit of getting used to. Clamping force was harsh, and yet would also slide along the top of my head when I bent down to pick something up. I mainly used them for listening to music near the machines or gaming on my laptop / handheld device while on break. For some reason USB-C was never really useable with the M3s. There were two separate volumes, the headphone volume and the desktop volume, and moving one, moved both, despite being at different levels, it was very difficult to find an appropriate volume level and they usually ended up sounding weirdly robotic this way. Fuzzy. 3.5mm worked fine, which my laptop had, two separate volumes but I could operate them independently thankfully, so I could settle on a sweet spot. Wirelessly to my phone or Steam Deck was great, because they supported AptX-LL. The ANC waas a noticeable step down from Sony's though, and while a little frustrating, they sounded a lot better overall. I looked into the M4's eventually but didn't seem like a worthy upgrade, so I was gonna hold out for the M5's and hopefully some of my nitpicks would be fixed. Enter the HBD 630s, randomly mentioned in the #audio channel of one of my Discords. I start watching videos and looking them up almost immediately. The price is high but I have been working a lot of hours and wanted something new. I'd heard HD6xx series thrown a lot in terms of audio quality, and was interested. So with only a few days of flip-flopping, I bought a pair. They arrived last Friday. They felt premium, and a hard case was a nice change over the soft case of the M3's. The included Dongle was a good plus as well, though my phone supports AptX Adaptive and other such codecs. I may find a use for it some day. I guess on my Steam Deck, since AptX-LL support is gone from the 630s, sadly. Doesn't work on the Switch 2 as far as I could see. As for the sound, fantastic. They do remind me of the HD600s, which I also own and love, except with more bass and obviously not as wide a a soundstage due to being closed back. For ANC headphones on the go? That's incredible. The ANC is better than the M3s by a decent amount, but I'd say the XM3's might even still be better in that regard. A trade-off for incredible wireless sound quality. Of note, the USB-C connection works pretty great on my laptop, though it's weird how I only need the volume exceedingly low to get ear-splitting levels, like 20-25% to get near to the level you can cause hearing damage, making my question what the hell the other 75% is for. But it's very useable this way and you get 24/96khz, so not bad. Sadly the 3.5mm connection is completely useless, I have no idea what they did, but when connecting it to my laptop, everything sounds like it's using SBC Bluetooth or something, it just sounds incredibly artificial. I am annoyed at this, given the price of the headphones...but it's honestly a minor gripe. I wonder why even bother including it, when every review I've also seen mentions it sounding bad? Overall, I am pretty happy, low clamping force, great ANC, amazing sound, and awesome battery life. Comfortable out of the box, unlike many headphones. As for the price, 499$ is steep. I got a slight discount, but even so, I imagine in 2-3 years when these are 300-350$ range, they will see an exceedingly high boost in sales. I have the money to spare though. A very worthwhile upgrade over the M3's, I would say their soundstage seems weirdly smaller though. I highly recommend if you got the money.
r/sennheiser • A week with the HDB 630's - upgraded from Momentum 3's. My review. ->They had them on momentum 3 and my pair bought when brand new are still in good condition
r/headphones • Sennheiser hdb 630 might be the product of the year. ->A lot is going to come down to preference on the tiers of headphones you are looking at. 500ish range you have the big four for over the ear. Bose, Sony, Apple, Sennheiser. I haven’t heard Senns newest iteration. Replacing the momentum’s for their top spot HDB630. I’ve owned the Sennheiser momentum 3s and I have test rode a few different others. Bose 700 were great for using for music and ms teams calls for work but they lasted me maybe 3 years. But I hate the sound signature of Bose, and the EQ is limited. The Sennheiser momentum 3s are still my favorite from a materials aspect with real goat leather ear pads and metal headband wrapped in leather. Although newer models cheaped out and started to use pvc fake leather and a lot of plastic. Apple AirPod Max sounded great when using the iPhone for music and watching movies on a plane and have very good ANC. I like that they are fabric. But not very breathable and can pick up sweat stains easy. I also think the sound is a bit sterile and no EQ option. I’m currently using Sony XM6. I landed on this based on the versatility. They are excellent at ANC for planes, for office noise, they sound great once EQd, and they take teams calls perfectly with noise cancelling mics better than any other I’ve used. They are a bit sweaty after time, and just waiting for some better aftermarket pads to get released. So far no issues like the hinge issues on the XM5, 10band EQ gets me exactly where I want the sound. Biggest issue is the app has so much bloat in it with features that are a bit silly if not completely useless. Like simulating listening to your music from a far away source while boosting the volume of the ambient noise to simulate sitting in a cafe listening to music. There are better cans out there. But you are going to push into the 800-1500 range. That’s too rich for my blood to own and give an informed opinion about them. Buds I don’t really care for. But I do use Shokz open dots for the gym and other around areas where I kind of want to be more aware of my surroundings.
