Sennheiser, I got my Sennheiser Momentum 1 when they came out. I’ve use it to go around and about, under snow, hot summers, they have fallen, at the gym and the only thing I’ve to replace has been the cable. They are still going strong. I’ve other Sennheisers headphones, but the Momentum 1 has been the battle tested ones o my collection.

Hi all - my Momentum 3's got stolen recently (I am devastated). Before them, I had the original momentum's, which I absolutely loved. I now need to move onto another pair and I am in a more budget conscious place than I was when I purchased my first two sets. If I bought another pair of momentums, should I stick to the M3? or is the move to the M4 worth it? I use my headphones for work, gaming, and travel and I use them nearly every single day. I am more budget constrained than I once was, so I am wondering if it's worth it to risk a purchase from eBay? Is there another brand I should consider? It's been about 4 years since my last headphone purchase.

AKG K371, Momentum 1, HE-R9. Most of the time (when using closed backs) I’m taking the K371 – I really like the overall sound (with just the right amount of bass imo). The Momentum sounds more v-shaped and „darker“ but because of high clamping force i don’t use them a lot. With the HE-R9 connects me a kind of love-hate … some songs really work well then they make fun, a lot sadly don’t, and the mids are way too dark because of swapping bass – u have to eq them a lot

My gf got given some of these for Christmas a while back. They sound fine for the price, but benefit from EQ quite a bit. The issue is the comfort, they clamp my ears super hard and hurt a lot. My solution was to stretch them out carefully overnight on a pillow, and then switched the pads to the momentum 1 ones (the fabric ones)

Good choice sure...I went with the OG Momentum AEBT and picked up a pair in pristine condition, only needed a replacement battery (from aliexpress). Earpads were original and in excellent condition. Granted they are before the smart app came out...but the style is so premium imho and the sound is mellow with sufficient NC for me at least.

Are you super sensitive/obsessive about background noise? I found that quite a few noise cancelling headphones produce a slight hissing when the noise cancelling function is activated (Sony and Bose, specifically). As some have mentioned, that function can't be disabled in some models. You can ignore it if listening to something or the ambient noise around you is loud enough but it's noticeable if using them strictly for noise cancelling in a quieter setting. I had a pair of JBL but traded up for a pair of Sennheiser Momentums. They're the ones which look vintage, with the slide track for earphone adjustability, so I can't comment on the newer models.

Yup and I’ve had the momentum 1 2 and 3s all great consumer headphones. Best sounding by far.

Sennheiser HD439 are the actual best sound quality, ohm resistance, build quality, weight, comfort quality, in relation to cost. I’ve done the research. I’ve also used the HD212s, HD280, Momentum Overears (I have two pairs of these, they’re the best all around headphones ever because of Bluetooth phone use). I have used HD600s as well, which obviously are amazing. But should only be used to mix songs professionally, what with the additional required amp to drive 300ohms
