Thank you! I would also lean towards sound over comfort, as long as it's not too uncomfortable with long term use. I have a nice pair of headphones (Sennheiser HD1) that I have been using for mixing and whatnot but they have no noise isolation, and it would be nice to be able to just use one pair of headphones for everything in my little home studio. Just out of curiosity, how long have you been using the MDR7506 and how have they held up to wear?

I have a momentum 2 wireless (the first generation momentum they did wireless for), it's been a bit of a mixed bag. The sound is great, the microphone is decent, but the Bluetooth connectivity has done issues. I bought these right at the moment they pulled them from the market because their initial release has severe Bluetooth issues, I my order was on backlog for about 6 months before I got the fixed version, but they had to use a software patch for a problem with the Bluetooth hardware, it works but sometimes it has connectivity issues. Still in use after 10 years though 😁

The old sennheiser momentum 2 wireless are incredible and I've had and used mine for many many years. They come with a wire you can attach/detach. I'd probably buy those in a heartbeat if mine ever manage to break. Sturdy, great sound, controls have died on mine but they're not really needed. Comfort is decent for an hour or two but then they can get a bit uncomfortable.

TBF still on my momentum wireless 2s and while battery has decreased it is still very decent and I don't even remember how old they are

Thats honestly weird. Apple apm, sony whxm, bose qc, sennheiser momnetum/hdb, etc. can all do it. Very common feature for modern headphones in this space :)

I like the sound signature on Sennheiser Momentum Wireless. I have the latest version and it's definitely the best so far. But out of the box most don't sound that great for Deathcore, but an app like Wavelet will make a huge difference

For under $200 you can get incredible “audiophile-grade” wired headphones. Especially if you go for used. Wireless changes things though. I’ve tried all the popular Bluetooth headphones and they’re all pretty underwhelming, even in comparison to some $80 Grados. The Sennheiser Momentum line would probably be the only worthwhile wireless headphones to me. If you make the switch to wired, however, a whole new world opens up. And it tends to be much more affordable

I'm a big fan of the PP and I love your plan. That said, not long ago I upgraded the pads on my OG Sennheiser Momentum and it made quite a difference. I know you said no more messing with pads, but the new ones are larger so they're true over-ears now and the comfort makes them so much more enjoyable. Just thought I'd throw that out before you get rid of them because they are a great set and this small change made me appreciate them like I never did before.
