560s is possibly the upgrade you are looking for. You can attach different cable and microphone. I went Game Zero - HyperX Cloud 2 - Game One - 560s. Zero regrets.
r/sennheiser • I’ve used Sennheiser Game One for 11 years. Here’s my honest review. ->Yeah totally agree with that, but the turtle beach was insanely bad. I have Sennheiser open backs and while the bass isn't anything to write home about, it's not a noticeable thing.
r/buildapc • Wireless Open Back Gaming Headsets ->They're effectively the old Sennheiser Gaming One with some tweaks, which were, indeed, great headphones. No idea why Sennheiser stopped making them in favour handing most of the branding to drop and going about doing something else. I've got the GSP 600, PC38X and a H6 Pro - all these are similar and they're all great.
r/buildapc • best gaming headset in 2025 under $200 ->I am in a similar boat as OP but budget isn't a concern.. I just rearranged my home office, painted and updated everything in there, just refreshing everything.. in that I decided to try and declutter by getting rid of my Rode boom arm with AKG P220 condenser mic, Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm, and Scarlett Solo Gen 4 that powers them both. Before that I had a Schitt Modi > Loki > Magni and a cheap Behringer Q USB interface for the mic. I decluttered that setup by going with the Scarlett Solo. I have always been a proponent of studio equipment. The only "gaming" headset I ever trusted and used was the ASUS/Sennheiser partnership when they made the Xense PC360 headset, I had to mod the headset by drilling holes in the closed back to get more bass, but after that they sounded insanely good. When I got rid of the PC360 due to no more warranty and just kept falling apart, I probably bought 15 gaming headsets, and literally nothing compared to the Sennheiser setup. That's when I transitioned to studio equipment. That being said, I have used DT990s since 2017. Now, wanting to declutter again, I am looking for wireless headsets. Watched a ton of reviews, looked at price to performance, and don't want any RGB at all. Battery life was one of the big winners in my selection since I work from home during the day, and game at night. Due to having a wireless HyperX mouse, that can go 2 weeks without charging, I believe their claim of 120 hour battery life on their headset, so I made the purchase. I, unfortunately, went with the HyperX Cloud III Wireless. They arrived today and all I can think of is "return them". The music quality, listening to Spotify or Pandora, is actually REALLY good. But gaming sounds are horrific in comparison; very muddy, everything blends together, nothing stands out, etc.. The mic is horrendous. I expected some quality loss going from a condenser mic to this, but not this much. It is very clear that reviewers edited the voice track in post processing; even the ones that claim they did not. That being said, the MG20 you mentioned look great and appear to be a solid option, until the battery life.. how is it at all possible a company such as M&D boasts about 22 hour battery life. In real world use that probably translates to 10-15 hours or so. I don't want to have to charge every day. I did look at the Maxwells as well, my only concern is that are listed as "Frequently Returned" on Amazon. Do you have personal experience with any of the many issues people report with the Maxwells, I am curious if firmware updates have fixed them.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • Genuinely good gaming headphones? ->I have those as well. I use them mainly for gaming and compared them to DT900 Pro X, DT770 Pro X and Sennheiser PC360s and I disagree that they are not as good for gaming. I think they have a kind of subtleness and precision that makes it pretty easy to locate other players, for example in BF6. How they fare in other, more competitive games, I can’t say. But they are incredibly comfortable, far more than Beyers, especially due to their weight. And sound is great. I did tune the bass up a bit because I like hip hop. But that’s all.
r/headphones • Audio-Technica R50x: something that ruined closed-backs for me. ->Open if you have a quite environment. If not closed. It's impossible to use open backs if you have for example someone watching TV in the same room. Also to get one of each over time is good. I use my openbacks 95% of the time. But when mixing low frequency content I switch, the difference is massive. Also as u mentioned, even if it comes down to brand. Most open backs are more comfortable. Can do severel hours without any problems with my senheisers. But over an hour with my ath M50 is torture. Last input, just for getting s good listening experience closed are much better. (All above is just my personal experience and over time I have learned that its a huge factor chosing equipment)
r/TechnoProduction • Open-back headphones vs Closed-back headphones for producing ->What kind of work? Are you just talking Zoom, etc, or like media editing? Personally, I can't stand headphones for more than a few minutes, so I also need a speaker of some sort. A great 2.1 or 2.0 bookshelf speaker system, or even a smaller sound bar, is more than sufficient for those times when you can't be arsed to wear your audio output. You don't need to consider *these specific models*, but they serve as examples of what you might want to look for within that product segment * **Speakers**: I am running my ancient Logitech Z2200 2.1 system until it dies - when that happens, I've been looking at something akin to the 2.0 AudioEngine A5. A subwoofer is nice, but tends to be heard more by the rest of the house than me standing right next to it. * **Wired headphones:** Do you need to be able to hear people in proximity to you? While the active noise canceling/amplification of some smarter headphones is nice, the tech can also be spendy. Open-back headphones like the Sennheizer PC360 are a great passive headset alternative for being able to hear people around you - excellent flip up mic with a satisfying *click*, and a very long cable. If you want to passively block out everything around you, HyperX Cloud Alpha or similar aren't noise-cancelling, but are well-insulated and have tremendous bass response, with a good-enough mic. Since you already have a gaming headset, and most of those are closed-back, I'm guessing the Cloud Alpha would be a redundant choice; but being able to swap between closed and open back headphones is a nice-to-have. * **Wireless headphones:** I don't have as much experience in this segment, but I will say that you should consider if the model you're looking at has a smartphone app. I got the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 on sale, and while they are comfortable and sound clear, their iOS app doesn't support *that particular model*, and it came with a volume limit enabled by default that I couldn't disable until I found a PC to install their software; that said, while the setup was annoying, I've never needed to use the software since. Their little USB-C dongle is nice, too for switching between multiple devices (my biggest annoyance with Bluetooth).
r/buildapc • Is it just me or we barely talk about the audio in a built? ->I have the Sennheiser G4me One now for 14 years and it there is no point for me to replace it, even the cable is fine despite getting regularly rolled over with the chair. I only replaced the earpads once and clean the headband from time to time. My brother for example is now on his fourth headset in that period of time (2x Hyperx Cloud, Steelseries), now he got Sennheiser HD490.
r/pcmasterrace • Another „Gaming Headset“ bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
