Hey, so a few years ago I had these XB950N headphones and totally loved them. They had awesome bass but were still really clear. Is there anything similar out now? Like, what about the ULT? Is that any good?

I loved mine when I had them, so comfy and they sounded so good. I remember listening to The Now Now by Gorillaz when it came out and being blown away.

Yeah, I'd say The MDR XB950s also had good bass and I found the mid and highs to not get lost in the bass which often happens with boosted bass headphones. Stick with wired, BT headphones are trash quality.

I have a huge headphone collection. From Focal, I have Celestee, Elegia, Azurys, Bathys, and Hadenys. From Bowers & Wilkins, I have PX8 and PX7 S2e. Regarding Sony, I sold my WH-XM5, keeping ULT and XB950B1. I am really happy with those Sonys. I am.not planning to get the WH XM6... only WF XM6. Sony could do Better.

Good question, but I haven’t done much shopping around in the past few years so I’m not sure. The last pair of Sony headphones it was the Sony 950N1 which I bought used like 8 years ago. They did only last me 4-5 years before the plastic pieces started to crumble, but I probably dropped them and ran into doorways more than a normal person. And at least they actually worked while I had them!

Sony MDR-XB950 paired with iPod nano 7th. Been 10 years, don't remember what song, but Sony has been my favorite headphone brand ever since.

I had mine until last year. Had to replace the ear cups twice and superglue one of the hinges, but they lasted a decade.

I like Sony, but my only problem (MDR-XB95ON1) is that you can't use them while they are charging

Hi. Actually a xm3s owner, I'm fairly happy with them, but it's time for a change. I mainly listen on my Galaxy S25, so no aptx HD support, Bose QC Ultra are out of the question then. It has to be Sony because of the LDAC... but which ones? My priorities are sound quality and comfort. Relatively good bass, clarity, and soundstage width. I'm not interested in something like ULT Wear, because i own MDR-XB950N1 already, and don't think that i need another heavy bass headphones. Sadly Samsung doesn't make headphones with proprietary ssc UHQ codec, other than earbuds, and i think i even prefer galaxy buds 3 pro over Sonys wf-1000xm5. So basically xm4, xm5, or xm6? Edit: budget is not much of an issue.
