Radiance or MDRZ1R, they make any genre smooth and enjoyable
Given your budget I'd say yes. My theater-like headphones are $3000+ alone on their own. But Hifiman XE1000SE might be just what you asking for. I think, although they are not as immersive as, say Focal Stellia or Sony MDR-Z1R, the Hifiman is, first of all, within your budget, and it has a ridiculously wide soundstage, which I'd consider it well-compenstaed for not being as musical as those theater-like headphones. My experience with Sony MDR-Z1R is more theater-like than speaker-like, and vice versa with Stellia. I am very sure those two could be what you looking for if you have a higher budget bound. Pair any of them with an R2R DAC like Fiio K11 R2R and you are set.
MDR Z1R. I love the bass quantity and quality
Could not agree more. Perfectly said.
They are light and very well built. Listed at 385 grams.
Not who you asked but I figured I'd try to help. It depends on what you're looking for in your bass. The FT1 hits surprisingly hard. You're not going to get that same hit in open backs.... Or even most closed backs, which is why it's so popular. It's pretty well rounded in that way - the mids and treble themselves have a nice enough quality. Not a lot can properly compete with that balance, let alone in the price range. I'm literally looking for a bass heavy closed back headphone jump up for specific bass heavy genres, to compliment my he1000 stealth, and the few that I've tried don't really make moving from my FT1 feel worth it. I have a ZMF Atticus and it's ok. I'm going to sell it. Trying out a Sony Mdr z1r right now and while I really like it, I don't think it's worth the large gap in price for its bass when I'm only using it for certain genres. I haven't tried the Fidelio but owned the SHP9500 way back. I found it really lack luster and boring. I don't think you're going to get ANYTHING out of the Fidelio's bass that you can't get out of the FT1. If you do though, let me know!
I have those headphones. They are indeed sufficient. Wtf are you yapping about. Y'all get on here and say anything thinking you know something but have zero experience. As I said, I have those and the bass is incredible and it doesn't overlap into the other frequencies. I'd call that sufficient.
They absolutely are no where near as good as the MDR-Z1R for audio, but the AirPods Max have better modern features and techy bits
