If you're looking at active noise cancellation, unfortunately you get what you pay for. My first ANC headphones were "cheap" Volkanos. The midrange Sony CH710 headphones were dramatically better, and now I have the very expensive (to me) Sony WH1000 MK5 which outclass the cheaper ones by a lot... Even as expensive as the WH1000 are, they're still not as good at noise isolation as earplugs or the wireless earphones I upgraded with Comply foam ear tips

I see. I’ve been using the Sony 710n for quite a while now but I wanted to upgrade and the reason I don’t use tws is because I kinda have after effects of tws with wax forming a lot more and ears getting moist and developing an infection even if I use them for just a small time like a gym session. Any suggestions on this? Thanks!

Hey, if you want awesome sound without spending a ton, the **Audio‑Technica ATH‑M50x** or **Sony WH‑CH710N** are solid budget picks that punch way above their price for rich audio quality.

Howdy. I recently realized while using my Sony WH-CH710N that I could hear more and sort of pin point where the instruments were compared to my airpods. Airpods are on their way out and if I'm going to spend money on a new headset, I would like to get something that really raises the bar compared to what I've experienced before. I'm not terribly well informed in the headphones arena so I appreciate any and all advice you have. Thanks! Budget: $300-$400. If the right fit is slightly over or under that's fine too, but I wouldn't be comfortable going up to $500 unless the jump in quality from $400 to $500 is significant. Source: Bluetooth into iPhone 16 Pro. A wired in option like USB-C would be fine if that's what's required for lossless. Isolation: Some ANC would be nice, but it's not the primary focus of the purchase. Tonal Balance: I like a lot of different music but metal (melo, death, prog, doom, stoner etc) is where my heart is. I'm not terribly versed at understanding treble, mids, bass etc. Specific use: At home, coffee shops, and traveling/flying Past headphones: Airpods Pro and Sony WH-CH710N Preferred Music: Metal, rock, hip hop, indie Improvements: I'm hoping for a wireless option with a better sound than I've experienced with my previous headphones. If I could go somewhere and test a dozen headphones out I would, but I'm not seeing anywhere besides 2 or 3 options at Best Buy. Location: US

If you prefer ANC, the Sony WH CH7200N would be better than this. Sound quality wise senheiser is better, ANC wise and maybe even comfort wise, Sony is better
