Based on 1 year's data from Feb 18, 2026 How it works
I had an XB900n, heavy daily use. Lasted 3.5 years until I stupidly decided to sit in the bath with them on. Pads started to fall apart another half year after that. Considering that model was below the xm4, I expect the 4s to last the same or even longer
I have Sony WH-XB900N headphones. I've been using them for years and they work great. You can use them by Bluetooth or audio cable. Very comfortable, great sound quality and noise cancelling.
I like my XM4s a lot. After a good EQ they're tough to beat. I had the XB900Ns before, they had too much bass and not enough for anything else. Sounded good at the time but when I moved up to better sets, I couldn't go back.
I loved xb 900n for metal
If you want the most absolutely insane bass, the skullcandy crusher. Nothing comes close. They do cheat a little by using literal vibrations to make the bass feel more intense. If you want sick bass but also an overall better sound. Sony, hands down. XM4, XM5, 900-XB's, they all sound good. Top headphones in any list for a reason.
Need ANC headphones. I had the Sony WH-XB900Ns and was really happy with them, but the plastic broke. I found the Soundcore q30 sound quality the best, but tons of Amazon reviews have been complaining about the cheap plastic build that breaks easily. I do not want a repeat of my current situation, so I'm very put off by the q30s now. The features of Soundcore Space One are appealing, but the sound quality feels flat from the sound tests I've watched. Can this be salvaged through custom EQs and HearID? Features are impressive, but audio quality matters the most to me. So if customization can't make the Space Ones better, I think I'll go for the q20i or JBL Tune 770n. Any suggestions?
I bought older Sony models off eBay, XB900n's and these things hit. $40. Reminded me of the old super bass xb950bt's which I think I'll be ordering soon even though they charge via micro USB.
I've had the Sony WH-XB900N for 5 years and they have been great, I use them about 30 hours a week. Basically no wear on the padding. I love the sound quality and bass. They work nice for calls, although the mic can be too sensitive while in the office. There is minor noise cancelation, which helps a lot for ambient noise in a busy office, traffic, and riding airplanes. Idk if they are current production, but I'd trust Sony after having these, I think they were around $180
Bought some Sony WH900n about 8 years ago cause a coworker had a pair and loved them. They're really good and still going strong with almost daily use... the ear pads need replacing every few years.
5 years and counting on my Sony WH900N's that have been used daily for work from home (10-15+ hours of calls weekly). Still going strong. The noise cancelling isn't Bose level, but perfectly acceptable. When you say your headphones are breaking, is it the battery or they are physically falling apart? For battery, finding something that charges them slowly is better for battery health. A case is a must, too
