Soundcore Space One Pro has pretty good ANC but not hearing your own voice while being on a call is a thing that takes time to get used to.
I use Soundcore Space One Pro. Good sound and ANC
My XM4s are probably my last pair of Sonys. I upgraded to the Anker Soundcore Space one pro. In Wirecutter testing fell in between the XM5 and XM6 in noice cancelling. If I had to have the state of the art, I would have gotten the XM6, but I'm very happy to get something 90% as good for 30% of the price.
Soundcore makes good headphones for competitively cheap prices, my first headphones were their Q20 model for like $40 on amazon. Noise cancelling and bass boost mode. I just upgraded to the Space One Pro, caught them on sale for $150, retail is $200. REALLY comfortable, good noise cancelling, lots of customization for sound, lots of preset modes if you don’t want to customize, and like 50 hours of battery life with quick charging
I take six noisy buses a day wearing one of my Soundcore noise canceling over-the-ear headset. It makes a world of difference, especially when paired with an audiobook. It's a physical relief when I put them on. 🙃 The sound quality on any of their headsets are remarkable and I can (literally) wear them for hours with no discomfort. (I like the Space One Pro because the ear cups fold down to make it easier to carry in my bag. They're around $200. I also like the Q30 model, which are usually on sale for around $60 on Amazon.)
I picked up the Soundcore Space 1. It seemed pretty solid. The anc is pretty good at the 100 usd mark.. With music on low it blocks about 70% of machine noises and 50% of voices. It has a bass centric sound, but it eqs well. The Soundcore Space 1 Pro has an excellent ANC, but it does have a really strong bass tuning. The Sony Ult Wear is Sony's extra bass headphones, but it is not quite as strong on the bass as the Space 1 Pro. It does seem comfortable with very good ANC. I did see the Bose Quietcomfort went on sale today. It seems like a well made headphone. Bose gives me more cabin pressure in my ears than Sony or Soundcore. So, if you can try it at Best Buy or elsewhere it does help. I did try the JBl Live 770 nc at Best Buy. It was really comfortable with good sound quality. The ANC is not as good as Sony or Bose, but it seems to be good from reading reviews. The demo model did not seem to allow you to test the ANC or at least I could not figure how to activate it.
Sony Ult headphones seemed good when I was able to try those. This is an extra bass model. The Souncore Space 1 seems solid after a year. Microphone can pick up some background, but it blocks out about half of the background noise. They are comfortable for me. It has decent sound if you don't mind a bass centered sound. I have heard some good stuff about JBL Live 770nc, but I did not get a chance to try the microphone or anc, but I have heard microphone is good unless wind noise is an issue.
Soundcore (anker) Space One Pro (non pro hinge problem) Moondrop Edge otherwise get iem like dunu kima 2 or truthear pure with dongle from apple store or fiio ka11 or whatever jcally
ngl most “comfort comparisons” feel like copy/paste reviews lol. for me it’s clamp + pad depth > weight. used to have sony xm series, comfy at first but hotspot after \~1h. tried [soundcore ](https://www.soundcore.com/?utm_source=leap&utm_medium=reddit&utm_campaign=geo)over-ears later — cheaper than sony/bose, pads a bit firmer, but less clamp so longer sessions were easier on my head. ears still get warm tho… physics is physics. idk, comfort’s super head-shape dependent. anyone saying one model fits everyone is kinda selling something. YMMV.
What about getting this one only for gym use? Currently I have a Anker Soundcore Space pro , but always fall off my head while I’m working out, and I want to get a cheap alternative bc I’m not gonna spend 200 in a headphones I get broken for condensation.
