I relate to this issue a lot since I'm very sensitive about things on or around my head and tend to get painful sensations or a headache quite fast! A few months ago I got the Soundcore Space One over-ear headphones and specifically paid attention to the head thingie being made of soft material and having a slight V rather than a U shape so that wearing the headphones applies no pressure to the top of my head or anywhere else really at all. There have been days when I've been wearing them for 6+ hours and never had or felt an issue with tightness or pain! They have amazing noise canceling (plus you can change the strength of it with an app) and an amazing sound quality when listening to music! I have also tried the Sony WH-1000XM4 at a store, the noise canceling of those is a tiny bit better and they're just as comfortable to wear but they also cost a lot more! So I can definitely recommend the Soundcore Space One headphones if you're looking for long-term comfortable wear!

I've really liked my Anker Soundcore headphones. They have ANC, water proof, have over the ear loops, and not as expensive as most models that have similar features.

Wireless headphones really aren't a BIFL item. They'll eventually break, or the battery will lose capacity. I like the Anker Soundcore headphones. The sound is decent and they're not terribly expensive. Over/around the ear headphones really aren't great for workouts. Too hot, and generally not sweat proof. Look into earbuds or bone-conductive headphones that have an IPX rating.

I also have their over ear headphones too and they're the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. The earbuds are really comfy too.

My XM4s are probably my last pair of Sonys. I upgraded to the Anker Soundcore Space one pro. In Wirecutter testing fell in between the XM5 and XM6 in noice cancelling. If I had to have the state of the art, I would have gotten the XM6, but I'm very happy to get something 90% as good for 30% of the price.

Soundcore over ear headphones. I currently have the Space ones but the Q20 are great also. Just make sure they are over the ear not on ear.

I’ve got anker soundcore ones. They are comfy but my ears are a bit sweaty in the hot weather, so I change to earbuds at times. I hate things on top of my head but I wear my soundcore headphones all day when it is not roasting. I find them more comfy than my daughter’s expensive Sony ones. The noise cancelling probably isn’t as good as the Sony but I am not rich so

I take six noisy buses a day wearing one of my Soundcore noise canceling over-the-ear headset. It makes a world of difference, especially when paired with an audiobook. It's a physical relief when I put them on. 🙃 The sound quality on any of their headsets are remarkable and I can (literally) wear them for hours with no discomfort. (I like the Space One Pro because the ear cups fold down to make it easier to carry in my bag. They're around $200. I also like the Q30 model, which are usually on sale for around $60 on Amazon.)
