There are diminishing returns in the audiofile/hifi space after certain price points. I have not noticed a significant decrease in ANC between the q45 and q30. Any difference was not due to software. If you look up OPs reddit history, they are young and have significant health issues. $50 might not be much to you or I, but that can be a significant challenge for someone living with their challenges.

If $150USD is your maximum limit then I’d go for the Soundcore Space Q45. Link to product: https://anker.com.bd/product/soundcore-space-q45/

Anything made by Anker's Soundcore brand. I snagged their Space Q45 on prime day for $89, but the Q30 are/were less and allegedly sound pretty damn good, maybe even better for music but worse for phone calls. Their Noise Cancelation is among the best, say the reviewers, but they are my first pair of NC headphones so I don't know. Edit: I missed the under $200 part, just saw "poor audiophile", so maybe ignore the Q30, but the reviews I read the last few days days the Q45 were the best under $200. I think the Sony XM4 were under $200 during Prime Days.

Check out the Soundcore models from Anker. Their plastic shells around the slider mechanism tends to crack and break, but a nice piece of duct tape can hold that all together. Seems like an odd thing to say, but honestly the tape doesn't bother me, and when you balance the low price with what you get (sound quality pretty good, battery life is very good, and I'd say the noise canceling is at least good enough). I have Soundcore Space 45, which I am very pleased with. Looks like the newer models have a different headband design, so this might not be an issue anymore.

https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/best/by-price/under-50 Looks like Anker’s Q20s are the first pick. I have the Q45s and they are great for the price, if the Q20s have a similar price/performance they’re a solid bet.

Q45s were pretty nice. I tried a pair but returned them and moved up a little higher in price point.

Ill add my agreement with others. $150 for XM4 is a great choice. I very much prefer the XM4 for its higher durability over the higher cost, more fragile XM5. Some are comparing the Sony against the Momentum 4 for $200. Ive had time with both and the Momentum 4 does have very good sound quality and it may even be slightly better sound quality than Sony, with a couple specific types of music, but it's not significant and the Sony are still great. For those that care about the noise canceling, the XM4 NC is much better. The Bluetooth connection distance and stability with the Sony is also better. Sure, some people only connect to their phones and never set their phone down, so they don't experience it, but for those that might connect to a dedicated player, or might walk around their house, the Sony Bluetooth is better. I have no hate for the Momentum 4. They are a good purchase. However between the two, Sony XM4 at $150 is a winning choice. For anyone looking for BT under $100, the Anker q45 when they go on sale for $80 to $90 are possibly the best long-term all-around that I'm aware of for under $100.

I don’t think the q45 is a great pick. The call quality is pretty average and it’s not very durable. In the same price range, I’d look at the baseus xh1. The overall quality is better. It has four ANC modes. When I work from home and it gets noisy, I use the outdoor mode at level five and I can’t hear anything around me. For calls it auto adjusts and your voice comes through clearly.

That's really hard to say. I have the following and here are my thoughts: Best - Bose QC Ultra (my everyday ANC Headphones) Apple AirPod Pro 2's (I wear these out in puvlic) Good (and cheaper) - Soundcore Q45's (My first set of ANC Headphones. They sound decent and have pretty decent ANC. The Bose QC Ultra's are better than these with both ANC and sound quality) Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro's (Their ANC I'd say is comparable to the AirPod Pro 2's. Their ANC is different. I feel like one lets some noise that the other doesn't and visa versa. The AirPod Pro 2's have better sound quality) I have not tried the Sony ANC headphones that people here rank very high as well.
