I have an arctis 5 that’s still going strong after almost 9 years! I did replace the cushions for nicer ones

Had my Arctis 5’s since they launched in 2016. Still sound great, super comfy and buy new ear cushions every few years because they are cheap and only probably I had was the cord went bad, which cost like $15 to replace.

I do not own any iems. My previous headphone was Steelseries Arctis 5 edition 2019. I thought at the time that this was the best sounding headphone for gaming, but the isolation was not good. I tried the Beyerdynamic and I was blown away by the fullness, the closed-back, the clear soundstage, and the comfort (I could wear them 8h+ without any fatique) with glasses. Sound that I could not hear before, I could hear with the DT770 ProX. Just to be clear, I was a hobby pianist for 18 years. I have trained my ears to separate different notes and instruments when I listen to music. Which is why I would invest in a good headphone. A good wired headphone for me is max $300~ ish. I have also invested in a DAC & Headphone Amp ($230~) a Topping DX3 Pro+ connected with the DT770 ProX. To be honest, it is maybe not strictly necessary, but I like the soundstage. Me personally I would not invest in iems $2000+ unless I was a professional musician. Maybe invest in a good headphone $300-600 or a good Headphone with a DAC & Headphone Amp. Just my small take :)

I loved mine until the mic started to not work well. Mic now makes everything I say barely a whisper.

Steelseries arctis 5 was amazing until the most recent teams updates, now it no longer filters out my fidget spinner.
