can't say the same after a white the dongle stopped working due to their own greedy design since they discontinued the first model for no reason and to not sell a transmitter for the first model and telling me to buy a new headset since there was nothing they could do and only offering 15% off when that’s the default I could get from their own website by default without their help center phones call. So if you want to invest in this shit company then be prepared for them to stop making parts and being as useless as this piece is and for charging as much as they do for something that’s not even made out of $15 worth of materials

I have a gen 1 turtle each stealth 700. Had it a few years and it’s still going strong

The first thing I'd do (because I'm lazy) is eliminate all choices that require a dongle or separate transmitter. If it doesn't connect directly to the Series X, it's voted off the island. I'm rocking an old first-generation Turtle Beach Stealth 700. I've replaced one of the arms that snapped (had someone 3D print a new part), both of the ear pads, and the battery. If it ever breaks badly enough that I can't repair it, I'll probably get the official M$ headset. I've heard good things about them.

Hard disagree. Having the app allows me more customization with the headset, and I’ve never had an issue with the app not working or disconnecting.

I’m currently rocking the Turtle Beach Stealth 700. I really like it, all the functions are sweet and the sound is excellent. Only complaint is that if I’m wearing them for more than 30 mins. then the top pressing on my head starts to hurt. But that just might be my weird shaped head.

I love my Turtle Beach Stealth 700's, they are exactly what I was looking for

I have absolutely no testing or frame of reference (other than my own) for this, but I stopped using Turtle Beach headsets a handful of years ago because I felt they weren't loud enough compared to other brands. The last I had was the Stealth 700, but this was nearly five years ago - and I don't know if they've changed much since then or not. This was back when I played PUBG and things like footsteps / directional sound mattered quite a bit (to me). I could never get the TB headset volume in a good spot. I'm not legally deaf, but note that I say this as an old fuck whose hearing isn't what it used to be (and was never that great to begin with). I now (mostly) use SteelSeries headsets and I am very pleased with the overall quality and volume. Edit: My comment probably doesn't help much if you're dead-set on buying something in-person, since none of those brands pictured are SteelSeries. I'll go out on a limb and assume the A50 is probably the best one pictured here - and not just because it's the most expensive but also because Logitech is typically solid hardware I believe? I've heard the Xbox headset in the first image is good, too.

I have stealth 700 and 600 turtle beaches and don’t have these problems

Are you sure you got the A50x? I just bought them too and they're pretty great. One thing stuck out, you mentioned clamping force. I just moved on from the Audeze Penrose (ridiculous clamp when they were new) and just tested the Arctis Nova Pros. I also have Turtle Beach Stealth 700 in the house, also ridiculous clamp. I think the Astro A50x is the most comfortable headset I've ever tried out of the box. One of the first thoughts that I has when first putting them on was how light the clamp was. It has way less clamp than Audeze and Turtle Beach, and slightly less than the Nova Pros. After customizing the EQ, they're easily the best headset I've ever used for spatial awareness and footsteps for FPS games and it's not close, really.
