(They’re the same thing. Go for the Vic Firth ones.)
Many closed back headphones, such as Vic Firth SIH3s. They were made for drummers.
**If your ears are hurting, you are doing IRREVERSIBLE damage to them.** Yikes! Stop, immediately. Get proper DRUMMING headphones that offer ISOLATION (not "noise cancellation"). Alternatively, proper drumming in-ear-monitors (IEM). Speaking as a firearms expert (also certified instructor)... Do NOT do even another single session without proper hearing protection. To be clear... so-called "noise cancellation" headphones are NOT appropriate for loud percussive noises like drums or firearms.
Definitely better. Even better:.. if the budget allows. These use actual shooting ear muffs modified with speakers. [https://www.gk-music.com/product/ultraphones/](https://www.gk-music.com/product/ultraphones/)
The downside to bluetooth is latency. If you're watching videos, the audio / video will often be noticeably unsynchronized. If you're just listening to audio, it's not a problem. If the headphones have a wired connection option, that will eliminate the latency issue.
The Vic Firth are right and great for isolation - not needed with an electric kit. The Sony model you picked are my favorite for e-drums. They just go a little lower than 4 or 5 similar priced models I've tried, without exaggerated bass. And on sale they are affordable.
This is insane....had a Pearl kit EXACTLY like that growing up. Ran Vic Firth wired headphones to a Bose entertainment system that held 6 cds. Only difference was I eventually put a double pedal on it and some extra cymbals
Tried the Shure 215s and couldn’t really get them to fit comfortably and snug enough to provide enough ear protection. Saw someone recommend these Vic Firth headphones somewhere else and I think they’re the best possible solution at that price point. Just need a 3.5mm to iPhone adapter. https://vicfirth.com/products/vic-firth-stereo-isolation-headphones
As for tracks get yourself a pair of Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones, I've been using these for years
i love the vic firth studio headphones, don’t do anything bluetooth as that introduces latency which can throw off your playing at any skill level. when i play with other ppl i just wear gun range rated ear plugs or over ears
