I think Golden sound said he loves the atrium, but looking at where it's ranked is odd. Maybe something is off about my ears but most of the headphones they like I just couldn't get into.

Are we the same person? Although I did like the utopia. I'm still trying to figure out my headphone collection as well but I'm keen on checking out the bokeh closed vs the Atrium closed. I also like the grado S950 which I'm not sure they tried yet.

Got the Atrium Closed from ZMF, it's truly beautiful. If I had to buy it again... I wouldn't, first because it cost me an arm (from France...) and also because I was promised something that wasn't true. Very heavy (go the bbb strap and magnesium band) and upper mids and treble aren't what I'm looking for. I was promised "better upper mids and treble than the HD6XX/HD600" Far from the truth I then bought their dampening system (titan mesh + suede pads), it helped but still wasn't it. I never tried DCA, I'm gonna order the Aeon noire X and checl what it is about.

I might surprise you, I don't like the treble in my Atrium closed I find them too sharp sometimes almost sibilent I might even surprise you more, I like the treble on the HD6XX better than on the atrium closed

Got the Atrium Closed, I don't like vocals, upper mids and treble on those. I found them even sibilent at times. Already had titan mesh installed and suede pad. I'm looking to a closed back with the veil of sennheiser, meaning crystal clear smooth upper mids and treble. Which one would you recommend ?

I am very disappointed with my atrium closed. I’m they sound harsh on the upper mids and treble. Sibilent on some tracks, did you switch for that reason ? Are treble and mids and upper mids cleaner on the E3?

Just so we are talking about the same thing, did you also have those sibilent, harsh, upper mids and treble ? Around 2 to 4k ? There are some music I simply cannot listen with the atrium closed even with titan mesh and suede pads. How would you compare the E3 with the HD6xx and the treble ? I want a high end headphones that is relaxed , that has very good mids and high and non fatiguing With what everyone is saying on this post , it seems the E3 might suits me but before buying the atrium it was the same thing. I’m trying to avoid the same mistake in the event I cannot have a listen to the E3

Unfortunately didnt like them! the build quality is exceptional but the sound is very inoffensive and tame, definitely lacks trebble and bass slam, its a much more smooth headphone for like, Jazz or Bluess, but its far from exciting.

1. ZMF Vèrite Closed. Wonderful noise isolation, widest soundstage I've ever experienced on headphones (more than even HD800S and Atrium Open, though admittedly still very little compared to speakers). Nicely forward vocals with decent timbre (huge for CBs), deep low-end and a good amount of high-end clarity. I really liked the Auteur solid hybrid earpads on these. My pair had stabilized wood, and were therefore too heavy for me, so I got rid of them relucantly, despite VC being my favorite sounding CBs ever. I like the comfort on ZMFs when the weight is closer to 500g however. 2. ZMF Atrium Closed. A very different presentation to the VC, isolated a lot less noise, has the best low-end I've ever heard from headphones (great quality, and just about the limit for how emphasized the mid-bass should ever be), less forward male and female vocals than the VC but still adequate. A bit less detailed low-end. I haven't experimented enough with earpads, thus far stock sounds better than Auteur Solid Hybrid , but isolates even less outside noise than those, I need to try some suede options as I'vd heard they bring up the vocals further. 3. Capra Audio Ouroboros. These have insane noise isolation, better than the passive isolation on any other headphone, including ANC ones. Too strong low-end for my tastes but still quite good vocals and treble. But a drawback is that they isolate noise so much that I experience discomfort from the cabin pressure sensation they give me. If you need to quieten outside noise, these are great for the budget you can make then at. 4. Focal Azurys. I only had these for a week, but my impressions were mostly positive. Take my audio impressions with a grain of salt from here on since I will be detailing headphones from memory. I found their sound to be good for a CB, slightly wonky upper mids (possibly because of the early ear-gaim elevation), but great highs and a punchy low-end. Comfort sucks without a capra strap, but great with them, ans very comfortable earpads. Questionable longevity given Focal's hinge problems with the new design (at least the headband doesn't snap in half). 5. Denon D7200. Needs some EQ to tame the treble, otherwise very good for a fun tuning, lovely low-end, decently forward female vocals. A bit too unnatural timbre for my tastes. 6. Denon D5200. 7200 with a more muffled sound, arguably better stock tuning but too much low-end and not enough high-end. Drivers seem worse and therefore EQ's poorer than 7200. 7. Focal Elegia. Trainwreck stock, but a great EQ platform. Focals old drivers have great dynamics and with heavy EQ you can get these to sound wonderful (so long as you don't like too much bass, since those drivers distort somewhat fast in the low end). Poor build quality as with all last-gen Focal headphones. Honorable mention: Sennheiser Momentum 2. I recall liking them when I got them, but tastes have changed significantly since then. I honestly don't know if I'd find them awful or not now, but they get an honorable mention as being my first pair of non-gaming closed backs. ANC speedround (I ultimately dislike all the ANC headphones I've owned, be it comfort, poor ANC or abyssmal sound). PX7 S3>XM6>Bathys>QCUltra>XM3>QC45>XM4>XM5. PX7 S3 wins in comfort paired with sound (with some EQ) but poor ANC compared to Sony & Bose. XM6 dominates in ANC and EQ's well but has poor comfort for me. Bathys has great sound, crap ANC (waste of money as travel headphones). QCU has great ANC, pretty good sound with EQ but annoyingly high ANC noise floor with no means to turn ANC/pass-through completely off. The rest are completely irrelevant. Sorry for the crap formating! I don't know why Reddit's mobile app is so bad for text formating.

They're unfortunately very different, the AC has much more low-end emphasis, less low treble and more upper-treble. But as with all the ZMFs, there's a lot of tuning that can be donr with earpads, I've heard suede pads does wonders to bringing up the low treble and upper mids. But even stock they're fairly enjoyable for a closed back, I just prefer the more vocal focused sound on the Atrium Opens. (Ironically my AC is 500g, while my AO is 580, but the AO which I prefer is much less comfortable as a result).

r/sennheiserBest Sennheiser headphones for upbeat, EDM and bass-driven music?

I would look elsewhere, maybe for a planar headphone due to electronic music using the lower extension of bass more. Sennheiser dynamic drivers are great for mids but bass has always generally been a weak point compared to other options. For one, Audeze LCD-X is a pair that lot of people like for electronic, though it does need EQ and is pretty heavy weight wise. A ZMF Atrium is also considered a better HD600 with better bass response too. Focal Clear OG/MG has punchy bass impact as well.

How’s the bass on your atriums? I have a pair (cherry wood) and the bass is pleasant but not very punchy and doesn’t extend as far down as I had expected. Even with some EQ I feel like my Clears have punchier bass (albeit limited output) than the atriums. I’ve tried different pads too, which makes a difference, but the bass still feels lacking. Just a bit thrown off as my understanding was that these cans were supposed to have a pretty robust low end.
