My first projector was from a well known brand, Optoma. That lasted about 8 months before burning something up inside. I then bought an AAXA Mini - LED projector in 2012 for $4 or 500 and it survived 3 deployments at 4 hrs of use per day during my combined 24 months deployed and as my main display stateside since I was too cheap to buy a TV. Had I been on Reddit back then I probably would've been steered away and wouldn't have gotten into the projector world. Id buy one again. AAXA is still making projectors and from the looks of it, still producing decent non-ewaste.
Tbh I don't think there is an option for this when it comes to windproof. I have a full battery setup I've used camping a few times and at other outdoor spaces. I use a smaller aaxa battery powered projector, battery powered party speakers and a yard master 2 outdoor screen. And I have a bluetti battery box to plug everything in if needed to keep it charged. I would love to find some sort of portable "windproof" screen but I don't think that exists anywhere. Even the inflatable ones that would require constant power will still just be sails in the wind.
