Do you have crap wireless? I have the nebula laser 4k without issue. I also have the capsule air and use it without issue but it's not 4k. If it's stationary just get an external player and connect to the laser4k.

I have the capsule air and it's fine. I also have the X1. So I have their lowest and highest end and have no issues

My mars 3 air is probably my most used nebula due to the large capacity battery. I have the astro, air, laser4k (O.G.) and the X1

I went with the BenQ GV series because they have great speakers, because the model I bought was on clearance (GV30), and because it can still fit in a backpack (it's still pretty big though). Seriously, sometimes I bring it just to use the Bluetooth speaker mode instead of having to buy another speaker. All battery-operated models will be limited in output, and the smallest and lightweight models are also limited in capability. Then there's also the models which stretch the definition of portable. The speaker issue can be addressed with Bluetooth/auxiliary cable compatible portable speakers, assuming the projector also has 3.5mm output. But that's more cables, charging, hassle, and weight.

If OP wants a less portable option, Anker Nebula or Xgimi horizon are good options. I forgot to mention netflix compatibility is an issue with some models. Because my GV30 is an older model, I have to use a firetv stick for netflix. I can still use other streaming apps with the onboard system. Newer models from BenQ are netflix certified. This is also an issue with older Nebula capsule models vs the newer ones etc.

Nebula Capsule is worth every penny for a first proper projector, portable and the picture quality is actually solid. if that's a bit much budget wise the Dangbei Atom is a cheaper alternative that still does the job well

If you care about details in 4k then Benq and Epson both are reliable and reasonably priced. Their specs are clear and correct. I have a Benq gaming 4k projector (2000$+, true 4k, bright, tank) and my friend has a nebula capsule I think (400$; sized like a coke can) His nebula is honestly pretty decent. He sets it up any random way with keystone and the quality is good enough to enjoy a movie for someone as discerning as me. It even includes sound. I see nebula at 399 on Amazon right now. Point I am trying to make is that you can get a lot of value for very little right now. return policies should allow you to take a leap. Chinese brands just like everything else are pretty damn good value for money.
