AWOL 3500 is bright but has atrocious black level. Avoid imo. Hisense great. LG is old shit, it's not worth the money, I believe its RBE is reportedly also bad. Formovie Theater Premium, top notch, like the PX3 Pro. Another option not listed: Nexigo Aurora Pro, has the best black level vs these and is great for dark room viewing, should be gettable for about 2 grand, not sure of exact price now. But, Aurora Pro Mk2 is in pre-order for $2299 if you want to roll the dice, they added features that on paper should make it superb. On paper. Sight unseen. Thus, "roll the dice". Whichever one you get *you need a proper ALR screen* and those are maybe a thousand bucks for a 120 inch, and I think Nothing Projector has a 132 inch for under 2 grand. A motorized floor rising from Spectra Vision, Vividstorm or similar is in the $2 grand ballpark for a 120.
r/projectors • Ultra Short Throw (UST) Projectors - Recommendations? ->I would say AWOL 3000, 3500 and 3500 pro. I have 3500 with 132 inch cinematic wall screen, and I can say that this is closest to OLED I’ve ever seen.
r/projectors • What is the best bang for the buck 4k projector currently? ->I would say AWOL 3000, 3500 and 3500 pro. I have 3500 with 132 inch cinematic wall screen, and I can say that this is closest to OLED I’ve ever seen.
r/projectors • What is the best bang for the buck 4k projector currently? ->I got awol ltv 3500 pro. Works like a dream tbh. So you can go for ltv 3000 too acc to your budget.
r/projectors • Best projector for home theater? ->In a short answer, I'd say yes. In a longer answer... I'm on an AWOL, it's been ok so far. We had a stuck pixel a few months ago which fixed itself after a few minutes. It hasn't returned after that, so that's good. The noise the projector makes when pixel shifting can be heard at a low volume. It takes some getting used to. We use the projector almost every day. On the next one we will go 3000+ lumens. 2500 just isn't enough to get that contrast. We have 4 windows in our living room. It's very watchable, just does not 'wow' as well until early evening. MEMC is now a must-have feature for me. I've never really been a fan of motion smoothing, but for some reason it really helps the image on this projector. The colors are incredible, dolby vision and hdr content looks amazing. You have to accept some sacrifices going to UST. Depending on screen size, you'll need to figure out what furniture you can run in front of the room. Our setup needed a 16"-17" console to hold the projector at the right height for the screen. It's still a little tall, our eyes are a few inches below center but it isn't too bad overall. You definitely should run an ALR screen which can cost $$$$, and they are cumbersome to care for. Not difficult per se, but you shouldn't really put pressure on the material. USTs will not look right on a bare wall. If you want to see how wavy your wall is though, they're good for that.
r/projectors • Is any laser projector good enough to be a laser tv? ->Yes, went from 75 to rising 120 alr from vivid storm, and an AWOL3500 pro. Some of my friends think I'm crazy, but I love it and have no regrets. It's plenty bright, and all but the darkest scenes on the brightest days is easy to see and fantastic at night. AWOLs customer service had been outstanding, and upgraded the product significantly 2 or 3 times since I bought it two years ago. If my family didn't care about the art on the wall, I'd just put up a fixed screen. We actually kept the 75 up ( behind the rising screen) for 6 months, but never ended up using it, so I sold it. I'm so happy and not ashamed to enjoy that thing literally every day. Room is ~15x18.
r/projectors • Replace TV with Home Projectors ->I've been throwing 150" on a matte white screen with a AWOL 3500 for the past couple years, it's been amazing combo'd with MadVR. We didn't need a alr screen since we went the velvet blackout route on our ceiling and walls, it really looks awesome! You can find good deals on AVS forums. The 3500 looks really good, we watched alot of Dolby Vision and 3D, and also enjoy it for gaming.
r/projectors • Ultra Short Throw (UST) Projectors - Recommendations? ->PX3-Pro best balance, Nexigo MKll if you want the best blacks & Awol 3500 if you want a light canon
r/projectors • UST Laser/Projector tvs that should be on my radar? ->TK700STi and TK710STi are quite similar; slight upgrades in the 710STi, but both good for gaming I use awol projector for gaming sessions, it also has low input lag if you want to check them out.
