Literally my journey. Cheap Amazon projector as an emergency display while on the road. Lasted us a year and change at home. When the filter burned through upgraded to a BenQ 4K setup. No way my wife would have been interested in the cost for the system without testing a cheap version first.

I've had one since March. Not impressed with it. https://preview.redd.it/g7vyt7jvuyue1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=014f45e278b926ac14ee6bee7edb586d9b4798e5

Buy the 936, better brightness. The AK isn't nearly as good of a picture.

Yes, if I could do over I would have purchased the LK936ST. And I just checked my invoice from BenQ and I misspoke. I purchased the AK700ST, which is even brighter than the TK710sti.

Looks great. Got a mate with benq 4K projector and The feeling playing at 130 inch screen is amazing. This nebula projector looks even better. Enjoy!

Looks like one of the Benq golf simulator short throws. Probably 5000-7000 lumen. They have to handle floor to ceiling screens with a relatively short throw distance for the screen size and throw lots of light because no one wants to practice golf in a light controlled room.

Honestly this is a tough question to ask because everyone has different degrees on what’s acceptable and what looks good. I tried several cheaper projectors from Amazon including one that is talked about here and I thought they were all 💩. I ended up buying a BenQ AK700ST and the difference is substantial. In the picture below my side door is open, allowing sunlight to fill the room and hit the screen. I run GS Pro at 4k Ultra with all setting maxed. If you don’t plan to use 4k, that makes things a lot cheaper. There are only a handful of projectors that really work for a golf sim, if you want there to be ambient light in the space. https://preview.redd.it/7t75gp47im4f1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45e644cf71b2cf38332f9962bac0947481c166c9

I have a 110" ALR screen paired with my BenQ 4k projector. Space limitations kept me from the 120" screen. I still have my 40" Sony. I think we get conditioned to the TV image, and forget what being in a movie theater is like.   Are the images different? They most certainly are....and you will never get eye strain from a projector. IMO, the images are more realistic with a projector and the large screen adds to the viewing pleasure, be it your favorite film or sporting event. I love watching hockey and football!

Projectors have as many settings as a tv. Adjustments can be made to your viewing pleasure. There's no denying that ambient light is the enemy of all projectors....even in a movie theater. When the lights are "up" in your local theater, the image on the big screen is impacted....and so it is with your home set up. I have my projector set on Filmmaker mode, and laser set at Eco mode...higher settings are available, but these give me the most satisfying image to my eyes, with no worry of eye strain. Again, the images via projector are different than a tv.

I would go projector without a question. I have a BenQ 4k model and 120" screen and the movie watching is so much better.
