That’s such a cozy setup, man! 😄 Since the distance is only around 3.2 m and the ceiling is slanted, I’d skip any complicated mounts and just go for a **small portable projector with auto focus and keystone** — way easier to deal with. * **BenQ GV50** – perfect size for a bedroom, nice picture and sound. * **Dangbei Atom** or **XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro** – quiet, have Google TV built-in and super easy to move around. If your budget’s around **€700**, those models are the sweet spot — clean setup, no cables all over the place, and great for watching in bed.
r/projectors • Help for Buy Projector ->suggest you spend more money buy Benq GV50 if you can. especail do not buy thise under $300 junk .....
r/projectors • Samsung Freestyle vs sub-$500 Projectors? ->Let’s be real—no projector is *actually* practical for use in broad daylight, but inside a car? Totally doable. The cool thing about the BenQ GV50 is its laser light source—super saturated colors, so even watching YouTube during the day is decent. What really makes it stand out though is the built-in battery, high-wattage speakers, and the fact that you can just hotspot from your phone and stream right away. For people on the go, that kind of all-in-one setup is seriously clutch.
r/projectors • Portable projector + screen recommendations for Van ->BenQ Gv50 is pretty awesome, and it has 2.5 hour battery time. It also turns to a bluetooth speaker when you don't need projection.
r/projectors • Mini/Compact projector recommendation for mariners. ->Watch this video and think a lot about brightness. Those Hitachi models are a order of magnitude brighter than what you will be buying. Like they may be 1,500 or so lumens compared to 200-300 that you get the from Nebula Capsule models. [https://youtu.be/jmmGQOSAReI?feature=shared](https://youtu.be/jmmGQOSAReI?feature=shared) The BenQ GV50 is well reviewed in that video, and may be a bit better in performance if you can get it in your budget, but none of the portable models are light cannons. Check the rated brightness of the Hitachi models you currently own. Not sure the resolution of them, or their throw distance, or anything else to give you some reasonable comparisons, so that information could have been useful. I'd make an effort to avoid using keystone correction with whatever you have as that will make a difference in overall quality.
r/projectors • Considering buying a Nebula Capsule projector now they're on sale - which model do you experts recommend? ->Watch this video... [https://youtu.be/jmmGQOSAReI?si=4gB4OUtlZ-zOa\_D0](https://youtu.be/jmmGQOSAReI?si=4gB4OUtlZ-zOa_D0) The BenQ GV50 is a really solid choice in this class. Traditional lamp-based projectors will be much brighter than these smaller portable models.
r/projectors • What is the best compact projector on the market now under 500? ->The Hook Up is well respected and the author regularly posts at AVS Forum. His reviews have jumped a bunch in quality over the last couple of years as he's gotten better measurement tools and has tried to standardize his reviews to meaningful data. He doesn't measure customer service or reliability though, so a projector with a strong review, like the JMGO, still means you have a JMGO which may not have any USA based service or support if you run into an issue. In contrast, BenQ has USA based service and support which can be quite nice if you do have a warranty issue. Be aware of this tool and the terms used on it... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-GV50-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-GV50-projection-calculator-pro.htm) For a 50" image, you WILL put the projector, 4'5" lens to screen distance away for best results.
r/projectors • Portable projector + screen recommendations for Van ->So I just got the GV50 and I've really been enjoying it for about a week now. (I should preface this with the fact that this is my first projector so I have very limited experience!) I use it primarily in my bedroom in fairly dark conditions and I'm projecting it onto a greenish/grayish semi glossy wall and honestly, for me, it's awesome! I'm getting about a 100-120 inch screen. I haven't measured it so I'm just eyeballing the size. Software can be really slow at times. That's probably the most annoying part about the device. Once you get a movie or show playing it's pretty good but navigating the Google TV UI can be a little bit painful. I have played my Nintendo Switch 2 on the projector and tried Mario Kart World a d Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Both ran and looked really nice. Not much lag for me. I have the projector sitting on my nightstand and it's aimed at a slight angle toward the wall that is at the end of the foot of the bed. It's approximately 9-10 feet or so from the wall. I tried to use Better X Cloud app running on the projector to play Gamepass cloud games. It'll work... But it's extremely slow to load and navigate. The Xbox controller does connect via Bluetooth and works. I don't really recommend doing this though because it's kind of a trash experience but it did function somewhat lol 😅 Most of the apps that I have installed work great and I can watch all of the content I care about fairly easily but navigating sometimes takes patience because of lag that can pop up. I'm not personally extremely bothered by the slowness because I'm used to an older Roku TV but it's definitely something to keep in mind. I love the portability! I was able to move it and make a screen that was over 200 inches to watch a Detroit Lions Football game last week and that was just sick!!! 😁 Sound is pretty good. I don't find it necessary to use any external speakers or soundbar or anything for most cases. The sound is a lot better than most tvs but I'd say if you want it for a more permenant theater type setup you may want better sound. For my use, the speakers are good. I love the GV50 so far overall and I would definitely get it again if I had a do-over.
r/projectors • Hesitating between benq gv50 and xgimi mogo 4, but both seem very flawed? ->I forgot to mention keystone... The automatic keystone kind of sucks in my bedroom. However the manual keystone is awesome! I love how easy it is to just grab a corner and move it until all four are adjusted to the size you need.
r/projectors • Hesitating between benq gv50 and xgimi mogo 4, but both seem very flawed? ->I would have taken a ben q gv50. Easy to handle for easy diffusion on your side walls and ceiling. At worst, you raise it and bring it closer to be 2m away. I find it qualitative for 700 euros.
r/projectors • Help for Buy Projector ->Higher brightness doesn't mean it has better picture quality, you should try both in person and also watch the Hook Up review as a reference. https://preview.redd.it/pwb1wjd73fie1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de1470bc9734434714cb9ff1b89cf0f53f50a03c This is the picture performance of my GV50, 500 lumen with laser light source is more than enough.
r/projectors • Recommendations for home projector ->I'm looking to buy a projector for gaming and watching movies, I'm located in France and my budget is around €800. I actually ordered a BenQ TH585P, but cancelled when I was realizing how the TH585 is better, especially in terms of lamp life. But then, I realize the TH585 is seemingly no longer available here. And then I realized that basically all of the good value projectors that I'm seeing are at least 4-5 years old. I'm really stuck because I really didn't want to drop ~€1200 on a projector, but I was hoping to have something that would last many years, where I could ideally replace the lamp if needed (I currently have a very cheap projector that has a dying lamp which isn't replaceable). I'm having difficulty understanding if there are any newer models, ideally BenQ , which are a good value for gaming. Is my budget really just too low? Edit 02/2025: I ended up getting a BenQ GV50 and sprung for a 5-year warranty too. It seemed like one of the best projectors for the price according to my research. I was at first dissuaded by an employee at a tech store who said that me having "light eyes" meant I was at high risk for sensitivity to the rainbow effect. In the end I have zero issue with it. Gaming and movies are great. It looks decent in semi-lit environments too.
r/projectors • Gaming projector for under €800 ->I would skip the lg cinebeam q because for that price the sound is horrible, for a good middle ground you can get a nebula mars 3 but the benq gv50 will work just as good. The hook up has a good review video comparing these.
r/budgetprojectors • LG cinebeam Q vs Benq GV50 ->the jmgo n1s is outdated by now, as there is the n1s 4k now. I got the benqGV50 back in the day but I wouldn't use it anymore today. check out the Mogo 3 Pro, its way more portable, has netflix, keystone is simple. I will have to say that the n1s beats the mogo 3 pro in terms of sound, but the n1s is bigger and with its carrying case it got even bigger bigger (I know thats no english :D). I ordered a 70 inch portable screen which wouldn't fit your van ,but it would fit outside of the van: [https://us.xgimi.com/products/xgimi-portable-outdoor-screen](https://us.xgimi.com/products/xgimi-portable-outdoor-screen) however i use the XGIMI 50" Screen P124S whenever the space is tight. r/projectors • Portable projector + screen recommendations for Van ->If you get the BenQGV50, get the google tv 4k streamer. It will upscale the GV50, displaying at 2160p. The onboard Google is very bad and slow. We use it in our small bedroom. And I really like it. The only issue is sometimes the auto fit and auto focus don't work properly. Just have to press the key a couple of times. The auto fit is more of a problem if you use a screen. You do not need one with that wall. The BenQGV50 can be moved very easily too, so I can recommend it for small spaces like yours.
