Alternatively, you could get a 142-184 inch screen and mount it at 4.6 meters lol. Also the 585 is a massive step down its only 60Hz :( Don't sacrifice performance for no reason. You can easily ceiling mount this guy or get a larger screen or throw it on a coffee table. It really doesn't make sense to trade functionality over a single extra installation step? The throw ratio is really good on the 685p and the 585 is only minorly better? Save yourself from yourself here man... The screen you linked literally comes in a 150 inch version if you can't ceiling mount it just grab that instead its like 50€ more

Note you need to learn about offset in addition to throw. Mounting a projector on the wall above a couch will not work well for a projector in this range that does not have vertical lens shift. With that said TH585 is a good budget gaming option with 16ms.

If worried about brightness consider a screen with maybe something like a 1.2 gain. Also I would prioritize a projector with 3000+ ANSI lumens if that is a major concern. This won't be easy and definitely need to go used with your budget. Anything new under $300 that claims more than 1000 ANSI lumens is extremely likely to be lying about it. Maybe look for refurbished TH575 or TH585 as they are really bright and considered good for gaming. Not competitive FPS gaming but that isn't your concern so they are more than adequate. PS don't forget light will still be an issue. Nothing you do especially in this budget will fix a room full of bright sunlight or similar. Movie theaters are dark for a reason. The 3000+ ANSI lumens ones will allow some lights on but at 150" even that will be limited.

My screen is 2.3m x 2.7m. I currently have a benq th585 standard throw which gives a decent picture. Nice brightness. Etc. I'm wanting to upgrade and tossing up between the benq th671st and the optoma gt1080hdr. Ideal mount distance is 2m from screen. Directly infront of that rollerdoor motor. Any suggestions on which would be better suited for me? Looking at the projector calculators I think it's telling me the optoma is about 2m away and the benq is more like 2.8m. If I'm doing it right

BenQ TH585 would be a good choice since you need a LOT of brightness given your situation.

For $800 you’re looking at 1080p not even pixel shift. You’ll have to do the math on throw distance but an Epson 1080 or Benq 585 are decent machines

Hello there fellow Wanbo hater! Despite its Amazon reviews, Wanbo is the most fuckall projector brand out there. I too had a Wanbo X5 (not pro) and it stopped working after 9 months. Just dropped dead. No customer care either. I'm now leaning towards BenqTH575/585

Benq had one was amazing, cost 800 or so but you’ll get a cheaper used one, had no issues and it looked really good native 1080p, it was a gaming one so low input lag too and I put an amazon fire stick into it to make it smart

A good quality 1080 projector that can pass through 4K content is fantastic (especially on a 100 inch). I have a 1080 BenQ and haven't felt the need to upgrade to 4k yet. I get the mastering and bitrate of 4K discs, just not the actual raw resolution. I didn't have to spend over $1000, not even close. In fact I spent $425, which is *insane* for the level of quality. It works out very well. Though I may have to change the bulb soon lol.

It's good. Many of us have been down your road, till we understand that there's always better projectors that can fit a budget. I had a 720, moved up to be BenQ 1080p, and an Epson 1080p. I'm thrilled with these two and one day, when I get some cash, I'll try a 4K. But you're doing good. And they won't be as loud.
