Great picture/gaming, but RBE and no lens shift are dealbreakers.

Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
I have two Benq projectors, HT2050 inside and TH585 by the pool. In my opinion, you get the most bang for your buck with Benq. That being said, my next upgrade will be the Epson LS12000, but I need to finesse the budget for a few more years. Check out the TK710 and the HT5550. EDIT: BTW, the W2720i is cheaper on the Benq website.
The best you're gonna do is the Benq TH585 at $599. It's 1080p, but projectors scale up with a lens while TVs rely on physical panels. That means a 100" 1080p image from a projector will look a lot better than 100" 1080p TV.
Projectors last a long time, so spend the money on a good one now. I picked up a $750 1080p Benq, expecting to replace it within three years. It's been eight. I'm now willing to drop $5000 on an Epson LS12000 because I now know it will last me a decade. Silver Ticket screens are solid. Sure the Steward is better, but there's diminishing returns after a certain price. You can always upgrade your screen at a later date, but I doubt you'll feel the need.
For $800 you’re looking at 1080p not even pixel shift. You’ll have to do the math on throw distance but an Epson 1080 or Benq 585 are decent machines
My guess is like every other time this is asked you want a $100 projector. They are all pretty crap under $500. Xgimi mogo is ok in darkness. ‘Ok’. Xgimi horizon is decent. Then you’re to a Benq 575/585
If worried about brightness consider a screen with maybe something like a 1.2 gain. Also I would prioritize a projector with 3000+ ANSI lumens if that is a major concern. This won't be easy and definitely need to go used with your budget. Anything new under $300 that claims more than 1000 ANSI lumens is extremely likely to be lying about it. Maybe look for refurbished TH575 or TH585 as they are really bright and considered good for gaming. Not competitive FPS gaming but that isn't your concern so they are more than adequate. PS don't forget light will still be an issue. Nothing you do especially in this budget will fix a room full of bright sunlight or similar. Movie theaters are dark for a reason. The 3000+ ANSI lumens ones will allow some lights on but at 150" even that will be limited.
Hello there fellow Wanbo hater! Despite its Amazon reviews, Wanbo is the most fuckall projector brand out there. I too had a Wanbo X5 (not pro) and it stopped working after 9 months. Just dropped dead. No customer care either. I'm now leaning towards BenqTH575/585
That’s the worst one u could buy. U gotta go on Facebook marketplace and look for a used benq or view sonic. Just make sure its 1080p and 2500+lumens and you’ll love it
Benq had one was amazing, cost 800 or so but you’ll get a cheaper used one, had no issues and it looked really good native 1080p, it was a gaming one so low input lag too and I put an amazon fire stick into it to make it smart
