I have the th671st with a similar screen size. It definitely needs to be mounted at 9ft (2.8m) to fill the screen. I also thought I could get away with mounting it closer and just zoom but did not work out.

Would be the upper limit and may need to go refurbished or used but check out TH671ST. It is short throw so specifically designed to make a big image in small rooms and also has some gaming features. Not high end gaming but good given your budget.

I would say watch reputable YouTube channels like TheHookUp. If they end up giving a budget projector a good review then I don’t know who could argue with it. But I certainly would not just accept five star Amazon reviews for any “budget” projector purchasing decisions. I paid $600 four years ago for my factory refurbished BenQ TH671ST and I am very happy with it.

Get on eBay and buy a used benq th671st. I paid £400 and worth every penny. I’d definitely want short throw so you can fully fill out the screen it makes it way more immersive. I

Benq 671st. 1080 will fill that screen at about 9-10ft https://preview.redd.it/d9lj69rwi5yf1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bfe7eae8d028b82f38f6ef6f208f47be8a063a1 I'm about 8.5 ft from the screen. Projector is pretty much above me. Screen is 7.5x10. projector has adjustable zoom which helps with screen fitting

Dang - that’s my video. That projector has treated me well… for the price. But I do have a BenQ TH671ST - it’s great, but on the expensive side. However, I found the BenQ on Facebook Marketplace for super cheap. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Oh, no worries! Comes with the territory. I would say try Facebook - but the short throw projectors at a great deal are so rare! In my area they are hard to find anytime. I was very lucky and got my short throw BenQ for $325 - but I only see a few good short throw projectors a year in my area for under $500.

Benq had one was amazing, cost 800 or so but you’ll get a cheaper used one, had no issues and it looked really good native 1080p, it was a gaming one so low input lag too and I put an amazon fire stick into it to make it smart

That’s the worst one u could buy. U gotta go on Facebook marketplace and look for a used benq or view sonic. Just make sure its 1080p and 2500+lumens and you’ll love it

A good quality 1080 projector that can pass through 4K content is fantastic (especially on a 100 inch). I have a 1080 BenQ and haven't felt the need to upgrade to 4k yet. I get the mastering and bitrate of 4K discs, just not the actual raw resolution. I didn't have to spend over $1000, not even close. In fact I spent $425, which is *insane* for the level of quality. It works out very well. Though I may have to change the bulb soon lol.
