Great picture/gaming, but RBE and no lens shift are dealbreakers.

The best choice is BenQ TK705i, because of it had 5ms low input lag. Xigmi Horizon Ultra is an old platform projector. Believe to have latest TI DMD platform is the best way. I turn on my TK705i when I go back my room, and use it for 2 hours every day. https://preview.redd.it/jera94mk96zf1.jpeg?width=2364&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd37d407e504f8d948fb414a89cab8b1a1b8ca50
How about BenQ New 4K LED high brightness projector TK705i. It is preety quiet, only 24dBA (eco mode), feature optical & digital zoom. below is its 120" perfomance in my bedroom https://preview.redd.it/3m3c32vvgyxf1.jpeg?width=2364&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1f055f2e03dac9b31016f732dc49ff08738b520
Imo get the tk705i if you're a new user as even though xgimi is technically better but due to tri laser it has issue like rbe and speckle. Pq won't be as good as xgimi but less issue for new users.
Looks good but it didn't have optical zoom and it only has 60 hz. Not my option
240 indeed, don't know why is so complex to find. It didn't fit exactly. I must put it in a middle of a room where i have a couch or put projector under ceiling what i don't wanna do for many reasons. I was gonna put it on a wall shelf, it fits me. So a rather prefer TK705i. How loud it is?
Check out the BenQ TK705i. I picked one up and it seems like a jack of all trades. Been happy so far
Essentially, even though it’s LED, the TK705i has only 200 fewer ANSI lumens, has lower input lag, is more colourful (in Rec.709 anyways), offers auto setup, has built-in Google TV (no dongle), is a year newer, and is $400 CAD cheaper. I’ve heard that laser is the superior technology, but that it also introduces laser speckle. So honestly, with that spec sheet, it being an LED projector wasn’t really a problem for me. I took a spec sheet gamble with this one. With it being so new, there still are very few unbiased reviews out there. But so far, I believe the gamble has paid off. I’m quite happy with the TK705i. This is my first step into the projector game, so I don’t have any reference to compare to besides my mini-led tv. And while it can’t touch that contrast, it does a good job and makes for an entertaining movie/game sesh.
Generally, the best time to buy is during the holiday season and Black Friday, especially if you’re looking for a deal. I’ve recently been gaming on the BenQ TK705i and I like that model as well. So it really depends on what’s the primary purpose of this projector. If you want an all around type of unit the XGIMI ones are nice but there are others in this space that excel with image processing.
I find that both models are nice in their respective ways. Ideally if you’re sensitive to the laser speckle the TK705i is going to offer a more comfortable viewing experience since it’s 4LED. I would also recommend the Horizon S Max as well due to its laser/led light source. Contrast performance is going to be better on a laser projector due its ability to dim further than a LED can. But to the casual user, I would think that you couldn’t go wrong with either of these.
Honestly, for your use case, I’d seriously consider the BenQ TK705i as well. Your room isn’t fully light controlled, and the TK705i’s 3000 lumens work really well for sports, casual movie nights, and social viewing with ambient light. It’s also much cheaper than the W4100i, so you could put more budget into audio/subwoofers instead. Main tradeoff: * W4100i → better blacks / dark-room cinema * TK705i → brighter, more versatile living-room projector Since you mentioned sports, hanging out with friends, and some ambient light, I honestly think the TK705i may fit your actual usage better. Plus it already has Google TV + licensed Netflix built in.
For afternoon sports with a lot of ambient light, the BenQ TK705i is definitely worth considering. Brightness becomes the most important spec surprisingly quickly in that environment, and this one tends to perform well for sports, gaming, and general living-room use. Black levels matter for movies, but daylight usually changes the equation quite a bit.
For sports in a bright room, the TK705/TK705i is definitely worth considering. Brightness tends to matter more than black levels in that environment, and the TK705 series is built around that strength. Fast motion, large screen sizes, and occasional gaming are all areas where it performs well.
