I currently have the BenQ V7050i and it’s the best 3D experience I’ve had at home. I have 360 3D blu-rays and haven’t had any issues with 3D playback on the projector. Just note, 3D movies are getting harder to come by and there is no guarantee they’ll release the latest Avatar in 3D format at home that the projector will be able to use. New 3D movies are pretty much only available on the Apple Vision Pro. It’s disappointing because I find movies to be a shared experience, not being locked inside a headset. Yes it looks good, but that’s only part of it.
Sorry to hear you’ve had trouble with it. I have not experienced this issue with my Ultimate3DHeaven glasses and V7050i. Perfect picture and syncs every time. I’m very versed/experienced in the 3D world, so I’d know if something wasn’t working properly.
Not sure what video you saw, but this model has been a disappointment all around, even to benq themselves. They brought in very limited quantities of it and with its poor performance I am unsure if they ever brought in any more. Such a shame since their v7050i was such a good unit. I hope their next UST does the BenQ brand right.
Have you considered the discontinued V7050i? It got great reviews for image quality, if movies are your main interest, and not gaming. I love it!
BenQ V7050i 4k UST paired with a 110-120" ALR screen. Read the reviews. Great for movies...not for gaming.
Think of sitting in your local movie theater....and the images you see. A projected image is not the same as a plasma screen. We are so conditioned to the retina piercing brightness of today's HDTVs that we forget how realistic the image at our movie theater is. Brightness does not always equate to color accuracy. Movies was my major criteria and I wanted the most accurate image possible. I have a BenQ V7050i 4K UST. When it came to the market several years ago, it was touted as the best image of all the 4k UST at this price point. See the reviews, especially the one by Mark Henninger @ Projector Central. There are a few other reviews too. After several months of reading reviews, I finally decided that this was the projector for me. It did not disappoint. Space limits kept me from getting a 120" screen, so I chose a 110" from Vividstorm, purchased from Projector Screen.com. Now...this specific model is not great for gaming. Gaming was not a priority for me, so it is not an issue. It has a built in speakers/amp, but I use a soundbar. It supports 3d, and I have a number of 3d films. It only has 2 HDMI inputs....but that's fine for me, as 1 is used for my 4k Blu-ray player and the other for my Spectrum Cable box. If you require more inputs you can always purchase a HDMI splitter. It is important that you know, setting up a UST can be a pain in the a**. It requires specific heights/distances for proper screen image set up...but once you get it right, it's wonderful. There are several excellent videos to watch from owners, showing how they set it up. Just like at the movie theater, ambient light is the enemy of a projector. While you don't have to have it in a dedicated room with no windows, the less light the better. Again when you watch a number of videos you will see how people have them in their homes, and in rooms with multiple windows. I am sure things have improved over the past few years. This projector is still available on Amazon the last time I checked, and there may be refurbished units with warranty out there on eBay it other web sites. Enjoy that plasma....but rest assured, I think you will enjoy a UST projector. Best of luck to you!
If image quality is your major goal....and you focus on movies rather than gaming, check out the reviews for the now discontinued BenQ V7050i. I have it and it is great, paired with my ALR 110" screen. There are still new units available, as well as refurnished units with warranty.
Check out the BenQ V7050i 4k UST projector. Read the reviews, especially the one by Mark Henninger at projector Central. It was rated best in picture quality when it hit the market a few years ago. It has been discontinued but you can still find a few new units out there (check Amazon) as well as some refurbished units with warranty (eBay). I have this paired with a 110" ALR screen....space limits kept me from a 120". I am not a gamer....and up front, this is not an item for serious gamers due to latency. I bought this projector after several months of research. I love movies. I have a good sized collection of DVD and Blu-ray, and now, a good number of 4k discs. They look great. You can't go wrong with this projector. Read reviews and ask me any questions and I will answer to the best of my ability.
I also have the BenQ V7050i and can confirm it is a great projector for 3D and image quality.
I have a 110" ALR screen paired with my BenQ 4k projector. Space limitations kept me from the 120" screen. I still have my 40" Sony. I think we get conditioned to the TV image, and forget what being in a movie theater is like. Are the images different? They most certainly are....and you will never get eye strain from a projector. IMO, the images are more realistic with a projector and the large screen adds to the viewing pleasure, be it your favorite film or sporting event. I love watching hockey and football!
Projectors have as many settings as a tv. Adjustments can be made to your viewing pleasure. There's no denying that ambient light is the enemy of all projectors....even in a movie theater. When the lights are "up" in your local theater, the image on the big screen is impacted....and so it is with your home set up. I have my projector set on Filmmaker mode, and laser set at Eco mode...higher settings are available, but these give me the most satisfying image to my eyes, with no worry of eye strain. Again, the images via projector are different than a tv.
I dont know man, I also have the benq v7050i and I was quite disappointed with the 3d playback of that system. Its not that the 3d quality is bad, its that there is a glitch that the 3d glasses doesnt pair well with the projector, resulting in the glasses not completely darkening the entire lens and exposing the green hue from the 3d mode. Im just seeing the green hue during playback on my left and right side, especially in dark backgrounds. Ive contacted BenQ with no resolution to this and unfortunately this projector never received a single update at all which means its in version 1.0. I ended up just recently buying the px3 pro hisense projector and to me it does not have that issue like the v7050i but its not without its own 3d issue also.
I cannot stress how much OLED snobbery plagues this sub. Picture quality does not matter THAT much... I game on a 110" screen powered by a 4k BenQ projector (very cheap but solid projector for gaming) and the size of the screen alone absolutely blows everything else away for the gaming experience. Size is truly king over everything else in the theater world.
Incorrect. It is picture SIZE first, then audio, then picture quality. Movie theaters have existed for 100 years with what would now be considered terrible picture quality yet they were still great experiences because of the size of the image and the immersion it brings.
Literally my journey. Cheap Amazon projector as an emergency display while on the road. Lasted us a year and change at home. When the filter burned through upgraded to a BenQ 4K setup. No way my wife would have been interested in the cost for the system without testing a cheap version first.
Looks great. Got a mate with benq 4K projector and The feeling playing at 130 inch screen is amazing. This nebula projector looks even better. Enjoy!
I have the Valerion pro 2 and it was a massive jump from my 4k BenQ.
I would go projector without a question. I have a BenQ 4k model and 120" screen and the movie watching is so much better.
Yes, still have the TV behind the drop down screen. Don't know why, barely use it since the projector has been in. Hard to go back from full immersive experience. BenQ 4K (few years old now, get many hours of each globe).
