New ones of Amazon pot shot. Used one on fbmp that was like $500 new most likely solid af now around $200-$100 may need a new bulb. I have grabbed a couple of the newer $100 ones they do t last very long. Wish I found one that works. Epson home cinema 2040 I think it is solid 1080p projector used now kinda on that price range. If u want good Benq 3100 fire projector If u wanna watch for a few hours and get a feel for it the $100 amazon ones work to get an idea of placement throw brightness things and h can return it if ya don’t like it.

Benq for sure we have a 4k model, throw like 11ft in a room with big windows on a 135” solid frame screen. With the curtains it’s great. Can even see it full daytime open curtains. Of course it’s washed but still. It’s amazing we grabbed the 3d cable model. We have a ton of 3d movies. Everyone loves it, we watched all the games yesterday on it for turkey day.

Benq x3100i is fire we went from epson home cinema 2040 or ?? Model may not be exact memory is shite, 1080p on a 135” screen at like 11’. Good for sure, but the 4k Benq x3100i is so much sharper clearer and brighter. Now from ur Benq to this one maybe not the jump we experienced but still believe a jump. ALR screen is the one thing we found later would be the best thing for closer to OLED blacks but sheeesh it’s so good. Even older media is nice on it. Feels very old theater which is great on those nostalgia days. We grabbed an open box and saved a mint things expensive but in the end if we payed full worth it. Are there better short throws for a lot more money sure are. When it’s time dropping 7k on screen and projector will happen. For now tho this is my go to and recommended. Great quality awesome picture good for gaming it wins where it should. Happy hunting

Native contrast of the 3100i has a lot left to be desired. MKii and Vision master pro are big advancements for the mid end consumer grade community. My only concern is with the reliability of these brands. In my time I've seen a lot of projectors go south rather quickly. Benq has a pretty good track record in my opinion.  You can't have the best of both worlds with these DLP projectors. Personally I'd rather live with a little input lag over borderline acceptable picture quality

For the price the 3100i is really good for gaming.

For 180-200 inches outdoors, the LS11000 and X3100i won't cut it. Not nearly bright enough. At $3,500, check used or refurbished high-lumen projectors. Epson Pro L1505UH (12,000+ lumens) pops up for $3-4k. Also look for Panasonic PT-VZ580U (5,000 lumens) or BenQ LU930 (6,000 lumens). For 200 inches with any ambient light at all, you want at least 5,000 lumens bare minimum. Ideally 8,000-10,000. Also factor in an ALR screen – for 180-200 inches, that's another $2,000-3,000 at minimum, sometimes more depending on quality. Honest truth? $3,500 total budget for 200 inches outdoors is really tight. The screen alone eats $2k+. You might want to save up to $6-7k or drop down to 150 inches. But if you're set on 200, used Epson Pro is your best bet.

150 inches changes everything. Much more doable at $3,500. At that size, the BenQ X3100i or Epson LS11000 would work fine with a decent ALR screen ($1,500-2k). Or grab a Valerion Pro2 or BenQ W4100i for $2,350-2,700 and put the rest toward the screen. Glad it helped. 150 is way more realistic for outdoor movies anyway. 👍

Benq 710 is a very good choice. Tho we don’t know longevity yet the valerian are very good. Benq 3100 is awesome. I’m running an Epson ls11000 at the moment…. All start at double your budget. There are good choices between your budget and $2k just those are my current top choices

Yes the 3100, that‘s what I actually meant to write in op.. but I guess especially when it comes to gaming that will be the best one.
