Let me guess, youre not into projectors a whole lot but you are into crunching numbers? People can poopoo this comment o'mine but 98% of projectors out there are Ultra Short Throw or Regular/Long Throw. Now, truth is, once in awhile we see a unit selling that could be called medium throw or short throw. But there arent enough to make a category for them. Plus, a pro tip I'll really get creamed for...Epsons really shouldnt even be included in lists these days. Sounds crazy to you I'm sure. Its cos theyre old models that while known to produce good/great images theyve never been innovative. That means they suck power, dont have any recent tech. Price way too high. Here's an example of an innovative company thats been around 4 years approx and have made a name for themselves. And here is a new product of theirs, [Dangbei MP1 MAX](https://a.co/d/60FzOGh) thats $1999. Take a moment to look at the specs and look at the Epson 5050UB specs that's $2700. And compare their form factor. The Epson looks like it was sold next to the RCA Deluxe Color Galaxy console tv at Montgomery Ward. If you want to make useful projector lists you need to change the categories to price range. Dont do an under $100 category. Not saying it isnt viable just trust me..make the first one $0-$200. The $201-$600. $601 - $1000. People still have a bad taste in their mouth from all the cheap Chinese junk that was being offered for years. The under $100 just doesnt deserve a category of its own. The most exciting category these days for budget minded folk is $300 to $400. And today there are more unkown brands putting out models with high brightness in that price range that people really seem to like. Its a new category. I had a Danbei Mars Pro (The first one) and I currently have a Dangbei F7 Pro (Dangbei MP1 Max chinese version). As the other commenter says, which one are you looking at? The F7 Pro/MP1 Max is very bright, brighter than the Mars Pro. And the software has come a very long way. Auto focus, auto keystone works flawlessly on the new models, unlike the Mars Pro I had. New ones use Google TV OS as well. The F7 Pro I have, because its the Chinese variant, uses Dangbei OS but its very smooth when I play anything off a USB. For general use, I use a firestick though since the F7 Pro is all in chinese lol and I wanted to save $2k
Reviews are bought. If you look around here there’s a giant stream of people asking why their happrun or magicube or other $100 projector has a burn mark or is stuck in boot up. They are all crap til you get up to the basic dangbei xgimi or Anker projector and those at 300-400 arent very bright but at least might last a little while
