Great picture, good gaming, but pronounced RBE and no lens shift.

I had bought another Epson projector (EF11)(brand new and not refurbished) and it had some issues with the lens coating coming off. They sent me a new projector(which I am assuming was refurbished as well), it seemed new to me and had zero hours on it. Once I received the new projector, I shipped the old one in the same box. I don't know if they would follow the same process for refurbished projectors, but it might not be a bad idea to check directly with Epson.
I have had the Epson EF-11 and I love it. It is small and has worked flawlessly for around 1000 hours so far. There was a lens coating peel off issue, but they replaced it without any questions in the 2 year warranty period. It is not the ultimate home theater projector for watching blockbusters(I have the 5050UB) for that, but this is a lovely projector and will last for years. It is plenty bright and will beat any cheapo projector.
I have the EF11 and it’s awesome I get 120 inches from only 9 feet. If you need throw distance calculations go to https://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm
The first thing that goes on these cheap projectors is the polarizer they burn very quickly. you would think by now they would of fixed this issue, and yes the specs are fake. $360.00 is way to much money for this, you could get a refurbished Epson laser projector from Epson for that price. i got the EF11 for $360.00 with a two year warranty.
epson ef11 by far. the brightest projector for its size. unfortunately replaced with huge "portable" projectors in the newer generation. can sometimes catch this on epsons refurb site
I also have a ef11 mini laser that's portable excellent quality
I play ZA on an older version of the Epson EpiqVision Mini laser projector. I got this projector because it is a good quality build for a reasonable price, and with a laser light source. I didn’t want to deal with fragile projector bulbs. Input lag is negligible, although “experts” at twitchy games like Smash might notice a difference from playing on the Switch screen directly. I’m using a second hand overhead projector screen that I can pull down when I play and pop up and away when I’m done. The projector needs to be about 6 feet away from the screen. The EpiqVision has two HDMI ports (like a TV) and a decent built in speaker. When I watch movies with it, I typically connect it to my Apple TV/Homepod, but the projector does also have some smart TV functions.
Kind of depends what you want it to do. If you want a full 4K home cinema, you're looking at $1500+. If you want base HD to do large movies for novelty, there's an Epson Epiq that's about $500 that'll work. The $1500+ ones are unbeatable though, I won't go back to a TV if I have a choice.
