Great picture/gaming, but RBE and no lens shift are dealbreakers.

You will have a bright image, but worse contrast in reality and not as sharp as an image overall. But, the 2350 doesn't suck, it's just not as good. Simple as that. Also, it uses a lamp, so plan for lamp replacements over time, which kinda sucks. You may want to sit down and watch a movie or two and see just how much it disturbs you. If it turns out to not bug you much, then it may not be worth the hassle.
Epson uses 3 LCD technology which means that not only must their 1080p panels shift to create a 4K image, but they also must have all 3 LCD panels aligned perfectly, which is very difficult to do. DLP 1-chip projectors don't have the same alignment issues as 3 LCD, so they are more naturally sharp. Some people may consider them too sharp, but I don't feel that's the case. I am okay with the slightly softer image of LCD, but prefer DLP overall I think. This has nothing at all to do with the light source in use.
It is a decent projector and while the image is not in the class of Epson 5050UB, it is more than sufficient if you are not super fussy about image fidelity. The zoom is plenty, there is also vertical lens shift that is great for placement. It does lack horizontal lens shift, so keep that in mind. It is pretty bright and is compact. It comes with a slot for Epson's Android stick and one can replace it with say a FireTV stick if you don't like the Epson stick. I added a Google 4K streamer and used a mission cable that charges the Google streamer via the USB port. All in all I am happy with it. If you need to save money, you could buy the refurbished one from Epson, it goes for $750+tax. These units do come with a 2-year warranty. I have owned several Epson projectors and they have all been excellent, very reliable and the brightness matches the claimed lumens. I had one unit that had the lens coating come off, and Epson promptly replaced it under the two year warranty.
Best under 1k is Epson 2350
I have and like the epson home cinema 2350. I think you’d love it too
Np, it’s 4k and it doesn’t break the bank. The image quality is very good too
I have the Epsom 2350. Plays 4k up 120fps and relatively cheap.
2350. Love it. Also love being able to move the damn thing between rooms and places.
