I got a renewed Epson 4010 for $1500. 17’ throw 120” screen. Working great.
r/projectors • Any good 4K projectors at a 16’ throw distance for 100” screen? ->You will be very underwhelmed with the lifestyle options when coming from a solid home theater designed model. DLP may match the contrast of your old 8350, but the most comparable model to the 8350 today would be the Epson 4010. Better is their 5050UB, or LS11000/LS12000 series of projectors. Those are the direct upgrades to the 8350. The lack of zoom and lens shift means you are basically using keystone correction and digital zoom to make the image fit your screen. This loses resolution as well as light output when in use. Always. And should be avoided. It is still a personal decision, but I wouldn't expect you to feel like it is an upgrade in the least. But, you may be happy to live with it so you can put the projector where you want it.
r/projectors • Experience and recommendations required - new projector purchase ->This is true, however I had an Epson HC 4000, it looked much better than a regular 1080p projector. Not true 4K but there was noticeable improvement over 1080p and playing 4K content was able to see some advantages.
r/hometheater • Replacing my Sony 1080p projector. Is this the best 4k projector in this price range? ->I have an EPSON 4010 that I mostly use outside, on the patio in the Winter and move to the side of the pool in the Summer. It is a beast size wise. But it has auto focus and lens shift and works great. I really need the lens shift to get the image just right over the pool in the summer so that was the primary reason I went this way.
r/projectors • Best projector under $2000! ->At least in my personal experience, Epson makes a really well equipped projector at a great price. There’s a lot of options in their line up for different budgets. As a projector is an investment, I’d recommend starting at least around the 4010 model. But lots of room to go up if you wanted to. If possible, I’d recommend adjusting the set up so the projector can hang a bit closer to the screen. You could totally make it work at 6 meters, but you’ll start to lose brightness at that distance.
r/projectors • What projector should I buy ->I’ve gotten an extra year out of my 4010 without upgrade FOMO so I’m cool with it. Definitely watching for updates.
r/projectors • Epson EH-QB1000B New Flagship Home Theater Projector Unveiled ->Yes, there are newer options but that would potentially bring you right up to your price cap. For example, Epson is selling refurbished 5040e's for CAD 2209. r/projectors • Need 4k Projector Budget around max 2000 CAD Lower price the better ->Same, have an LG G2 in family room to be able to watch TV on our first floor (and mostly for kid shows) but the main screen for movies, shows or big sporting events is our dedicated home theater with an Epson 4010 (soon to be LS12000) and 9.2 Atmos. Also have my PS5 hooked up to the G2 right now since the 4010 is not great at modern gaming.
r/projectors • Replace TV with Home Projectors ->for essentially the same money, I'd pick the 4050. 5050 is discontinued and not native 4k.
r/hometheater • What’s the best home projector for the least amount of money? ->I agree with a lot of the sentiment here, but only if you're answering the broadest question possible without any context. If you had to answer the question "what is the cheapest good projector" with no understanding of what/how they plan to consume content, what their expectations are, what their room and light control is like, etc. and really needed to CYA, the 5050ub is a great blanket recommendation. Ever since the 5040ub deals dried up, and for anyone that doesn't plan to game at 4k, I'd say a refurb HC4000/4010 and ISF calibration (specifically with separate SDR and HDR calibrations saved to memory) would be nearly as good and a better value than a 5040ub or 5050ub without calibration for $500-$1000 less... And I'd gladly take a 4000 over a 3800 if for no other reason than power/memory zoom/shift (especially if there's any interest in a 2.35:1 screen). Even the 3800 isn't a bad recommendation if the size/weight of the larger Epsons is too much. Just like anything else, context makes all the difference. You're not necessarily being elitist saying the 5050ub is the bare minimum, but it seems you're trying to cover so many possible situations that it's just the lowest common denominator.
r/hometheater • How much do you need to spend to get a good 4k projector? ->Yep on a high end Epson 4K HDR LCD projector at 120 inches Looks so damn good.
r/switch2 • Anyone playing Switch 2 on a projector? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
