This is what convinced me to pick it up.. Seriously no regrets, it's fantastic. It's not short throw and I'll eventually upgrade. But I got it for $130 and it's honestly perfect for now. 

get the groview jq818c, just keep in mind they're all crap at that price but I guess thats the best of the crap, brand names like benq/epson projectors are pricey but also are better in every way PLEASE stay away from HY300

Went for an open box deal on a nobrand jq818c for 50 bucks and couldn’t be happier.

I own a Growview jq818c and I have to say for a sub $200 projector it’s a tremendous bang for buck value. It has good enough speakers and a very good picture for a 1080p display. Yes it has a relatively long throw range and the bulb could be brighter BUT it freaking works and has held up to regular use for the last 3 years. Alas in terms of Truth in Advertising claims Amazon is the Wild West. I realize that most cheapie projectors are crap and sadly no one seams to be doing an adequate job of reviewing these devices.

Groview 818c off amazon for $120. Couldn't care less that my head leaves a shadow. Would attach a photo if I could.
