I don’t think it’s the market, I think it’s that this sub talks absolute shit about anything sub $1000. They tell you to increase your budget or stop looking at toys. The happrun has emerged despite the elitist mentality because of its value at closer to $45, but the brigade shows up for anything else. It’s incredibly frustrating.
I bought the hy350pro on AliExpress and after 3 or 4 maybe movies, and let say 5 hours of tv shows, I started noticing some black stains. I thought it was from the wall but it sure is dust in the lenses. So I won't play and try to clean it, I send it back. My next pick will be the happrun h1 (I dig dipper, in the cheap projector mud). But this one as a little door to clean the dust. Hope it helps, sry for my English.
HAPPRUN H1 is one that I highly recommend. There's a YouTube channel somewhere that does comparisons of Amazon projectors at different price points. Like every community people will get hyper fixated on perfection and the "best" but the reality is that you can usually get "good enough" for very cheap in most fields. The trick is to do a little reading so you don't get the absolute bottom barrel scam junk, but the decent entry value propositions. I got my cheapo H1 on some random Amazon stacked sale for like 30 something dollars. At that price it could have literally been disposable but I've been using it as a bedroom projector (when I had planned to buy a TV) for 2 years.
The Happrun H1 is one of the better models out there for under $100 and remains a strong choice. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B28G5Y4R](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B28G5Y4R) This video is a must watch: [https://youtu.be/p7pcVKvtgCE?si=pR-tO9F2KU4bZMmX](https://youtu.be/p7pcVKvtgCE?si=pR-tO9F2KU4bZMmX) Most are on Amazon Prime and can be here in a couple of days easily. Keep in mind you are looking at cheap toy projectors, so you aren't getting a quite fan or much in the way of brightness. Forget daytime/lit room use. These are cheap projectors, so you need to deal with that reality. Plus, even high end models don't do well in daylight. That's basic physics. Cheap ones certainly do not. There is no built in 'smart' features on most of the cheap models, and those that do have them generally are lousy and really slow. It's better to get an Amazon Fire TV Stick to go with the projector. With the H1 around $60 or so, that leaves you budget to get a Fire TV Stick to go with it for $30 or so. Then whatever stand you decide to get. You will also want a better speaker than the projector comes with. A Bluetooth speaker will fill that need nicely, but you don't have to get that right away.
Get the Happrun H1 and connect a Amazon Fire TV Stick to it. It is quite likely your phone will not allow for the apps to mirror to any projector easily due to copyright restrictions. The Fire TV Stick for around $30 will stream everything just fine and has built in Bluetooth to connect to headphones or a speaker easily.
Please, please, please watch some videos over at [www.youtube.com/thehookup](http://www.youtube.com/thehookup) \- He covers cheap models and better models and talks about the tech. It will help you get WAY more informed. Brands like Vankyo, RCA, Kodak, Miroir, etc. are using single LCD panel projector tech which is absolute bottom of the line. It is super unreliable, and you are lucky to get more than a few hundred lumens from most of the projectors in this class. My opinion: If you are going cheap - GO CHEAP! Models like the Happrun H1 are under $100 and look quite good for the money. Get a Amazon Fire TV Stick ($25) to go with it. That will give you streaming and Bluetooth audio capabilities. There are better models that are closer to your top budget, like the XGimi and Anker models that are out there. It is their low end models and they aren't very bright. Read the specs on their models for claimed brightness, but again, a few hundred lumens is about the most you will be getting, which is a LONG way from the 2,000+ lumens you get from many of the $1,000+ models. So, any ambient light will significantly impact the image with these low-lumen models.
Magcubic is a cheap no-name Chinese company that sells extremely low end product. They are bought a lot, but also have a ton of issues. They are very dim, and not appropriate for any serious home theater. You REALLY want to check the videos over at [www.youtube.com/thehookup](http://www.youtube.com/thehookup) as he just put out a sub-$500 projector shootout. The Nexigo PJ40 was ranked best, with some other options in there. He also has done a similar shootout for sub-$100 projectors. Here's the deal: At this price point you are getting mostly no-name models which use single LCD panel technology that is prone to failure. Understand you aren't buying long term quality, and that's half the battle. Then you don't get brightness, or sharpness, or quiet operation. Whatever issues you have will rarely get any support from the manufacturer. The single LCD often doesn't get proper cooling and it (literally) burns up, or the from polarizer burns up. This appears as a brown spot in the image. I personally bought the Happrun H1 for about $70 on Amazon. It was inexpensive, and it is okay, at best. I hooked up a Amazon Fire TV Stick to it, and it showed an image. Yay. It filled my 110" diagonal screen with what was a usable, but dim image. The noise was significantly more than my branded higher end projector (JVC) and my used BenQ models (HT2050a, W1070) but the Happrun only put out about 1/10th the light output. Audio should generally be considered an afterthought on most projectors. Not all of them, but in general, audio isn't that good. A decent Bluetooth speaker is often a significant step up in audio quality.
Happrun H1, $60, plus an Android dongle like Onn or Amazon. So cheap for the pleasure of a big screen that you’ll feel like you’re stealing it. Yes, you can hear the fan, but that’s true for many, even more expensive ones; yes, you shouldn’t leave it running for six hours straight; yes, it’s only for darkness. But yes, it’s only $60 so you’re not afraid of breaking it or having it stolen; yes, you’ll say “wow” when you set it up—but watch out, because it’ll draw you into the world of projectors and make you want more, like many Redditors in this sub. Be careful, not all cheap projectors are at this level—far from it. Don’t pick at random, or just because a bunch of influencers say the latest projector from whoever is revolutionary; they’re paid for that and will do anything for clicks.
definitely happrun h1 just keep in mind at these low prices they're crappy quality, then again brand names are pricey
$50?! save for a happrun h1, it consistently goes down $60 and do NOT...I repeat...DO NOT get HY projectors...you have been warned.
i'm heavily against the hy300 because it's the #1 garbage that gets posted here about it having a problem. if you want something cheap get the happrun h1
Planning to get Happrun H1, the other alternative was Wanbo T2 Ultra but very avg performace considering its double the price of Happrun. I want good picture picture quality since I will be using streaming stick anyway. Also, The Hook Up reviewed it as best budget projector (also comes with 2 years of warranty)
The Happrun H1 is the only projector I'd recommend in your price range.
