The Hisense PX3-PRO is king right now. I'd get it if I could find a way to sell my LSP7T or LSP9T. Awol's reputation is... touchy; others here could elaborate better than I. LG... I've never heard anything bad about their line, but I've never heard anything stellar either.

I had to add some shims under the base of my floor rising screen to fix the tilt. Then everything else was easier. One way or another I think you need to fix that first. I also have a PX3-Pro and Im loving it. You'll get there.

I am loving my PX3-Pro. I haven't really turned on my Bravia 9 since getting it. The picture aint that far off and surprisingly way better than i thought it would be.

A 132 inch Nothing Projector ALR/CLR screen combined with a good UST projector would be another option. ALR screens with UST's reject a ton of environmental light and focus the light back towards the viewers, and with an UST the projector would be right next to the screen so nobody would be walking through the projected image. Your Formovie Theater Premium, your PX3-Pro, etc. Long throw is great for dedicated theater rooms but in more mixed use spaces you come up against the fact that any light in the room severely degrades the experience and you need to paint the room black to compensate for spill light (even though the Slate is ALR it's kind of ALR light and not remotey as effective at light rejection as UST, because UST shines the light from a very specific point below the screen). Just thought I'd float the idea to consider at least. Oh, and you can get 150 inch ALR screens for UST's but they're super expensive ($5k, which I consider expensive for a screen personally; perhaps not for a $40k budget guy) and they all have a seam, the largest seamless one I know is that 132. This would also lower your purchasing cost by a noticeable amount. I mean... a factor of four. Image-quality wise, modern UST's can compete with just about any long throw and beat some. Installation is both easier and harder (figuring out where to put the center speaker and such) but they do make cabinets specifically for nice looking installs with motorized shelves for the projector; internet image search: https://duckduckgo.com/?&q=ust+projector+cabinets&iax=images&ia=images - though they may be made for either 100 or 120 inches specifically. Salamander makes variants with the projector sunk into the cabinet itself, like https://www.salamanderdesigns.com/formovie-theater/ But sure, a QL3000 and a Slate screen would be pretty freaking spectacular I'm sure. I don't think the QB1000 makes sense. It's too expensive. At those prices you could be looking at JVC's LCoS (D-ILA) models and get considerably better picture quality than 3LCD, too. The LS12000 is more sensible and very comparable to the QB1000. All just one guy's opinions naturally.

I have an Epson and love it. To me, it's the most sensible way to get a 120 inch image. 115 inch TV's do exist now, but they cost a ton, and they weigh 200 lbs and need four burly guys to move. You can get 98 inch TV's now that aren't the greatest but pretty good and not wildly expensive. But that's still not 120, and they're heavy and huge and not something you're going to be carting around yourself if they break and need service. That's one of my bigger objections to preposterously huge TVs. Another thing is that they're all glossy. Which means, in a lit room, they're giant mirrors. Glare is another thing I dislike. So both technologies come with benefits and shortcomings. TV's have better contrast and black level and, well, they're TV's. Install, turn on, good to go. However, there's no getting around the fact that planning and installing an UST is more of a hassle. They're finicky to place, and if the toddler pushes it out of position you'll be maneuvering it one millimeter at a time to try to hit the screen properly. Placing a center speaker is also something that needs thought (that would usually go where the projector is). The PX3 looks quite good. However, you'd get similar performance out of a Nexigo Aurora Pro, Formovie Theater and a few others. [ALR Screen VS White WALL - Side by Side Comparison in Different Lighting Conditions | Chris Maher, YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG1rVFTnkuE) - showcasing how an UST behaves in various light, with and without an ALR screen. Spoiler: you'd want "with". Essentially, if you want a 120 inch image in a space where you can't fully black it out, an UST is a great middle ground. In the dark, such a projector can easily compete with dedicated projectors in their own price range - thanks to ALR focusing the light to the viewers in no small measure. In the light, it's no contest thanks to ALR. If smaller-but-still-pretty-large is enoguh, maybe TV.

The top of the line JVC projector is pretty good value for money. I mean, sure, it's $30000, but still great value for money if you're rich. And what I mean by that is state your darn budget... If you plan to go all in and start playing with anamorphic lenses for 2.35:1 and installing a MadVR processor then you want a long throw projector to accommodate that use case, but there's a lot to be said these days for UST projectors as well, the ALR screens really help, even in a darkened room. They're also silent (well, quiet) since they're expected to be in the room with you. Long throw projectors should ideally be in another room with a hole hacked in the wall for the lens. I personally qustion the wisdom of putting a device with fans literally over your head when watching a movie now that options exist. You'd have to pay a pretty big chunk of change to beat the image from a Hisense PX3 UST and, say, a 132 inch Nothing Projector ALR screen, or some other screen like Spectra Vision or similar that does cost more. Or the Nexigo Aurora Pro projector, that's still by all accounts the champ of dark room viewing and is in the $2000 ballpark (without screen). There's a pre-order opportunity for the Aurora Pro MK 2 that will sell for $1999 on pre-order, but that's still a few months out from shipping and of course there's some risk it won't be great (but honestly, I personally expect it to become the best UST on the market based on specs and what info is out here).

AWOL 3500 is bright but has atrocious black level. Avoid imo. Hisense great. LG is old shit, it's not worth the money, I believe its RBE is reportedly also bad. Formovie Theater Premium, top notch, like the PX3 Pro. Another option not listed: Nexigo Aurora Pro, has the best black level vs these and is great for dark room viewing, should be gettable for about 2 grand, not sure of exact price now. But, Aurora Pro Mk2 is in pre-order for $2299 if you want to roll the dice, they added features that on paper should make it superb. On paper. Sight unseen. Thus, "roll the dice". Whichever one you get *you need a proper ALR screen* and those are maybe a thousand bucks for a 120 inch, and I think Nothing Projector has a 132 inch for under 2 grand. A motorized floor rising from Spectra Vision, Vividstorm or similar is in the $2 grand ballpark for a 120.

Px3-pro is great but if you are coming from oled i would recommend Nexigo aurora mk II pro instead. You'll loose some brightness but get a way better contrast that is closer to oled then the hisense.

Hey bro, got the hisense px3 pro and I love it:) not sure how to do 240 hz yet but everything is almost identical to my oled monitor (colors and black levels are insane) but honestly don't over think your choice as you'll be happy with which ever projector you go with! Most importantly just go with what you can afford. If you don't like it, you can always return it!

See my recent post in this sub - [https://www.reddit.com/r/projectors/comments/1ju2q7p/using\_px3pro\_with\_100\_inch\_fresnel\_alr\_screen\_in/](https://www.reddit.com/r/projectors/comments/1ju2q7p/using_px3pro_with_100_inch_fresnel_alr_screen_in/) I went for Hisense PX3-Pro UST and 100" Fresnel ALR screen. To be honest, my intent was not to substitute a TV, but rather expand the possibilities of projector. The primary use-case is still watching movies (or series), and I wanted an option to do that outside of very dark conditions. The result is totally satisfying for me for most cases. Except for direct sunlight the picture is perfectly watchable, and with reasonable ambient light it's very good (nice colors, enough brightness). For sports or TV channels the picture itself would be brighter due to the content type, as movies are generally "darker". So picture wise I think UST projector for ALR screen may work. Cases where I would consider TV vs projector 1 - no love for projected image (it's different, less sharp, no individual pixels, etc.) 2 - want perfect blacks and can go with an OLED (e.g. 83" is enough or have plenty of money for 97") 3 - frequent gaming (support for high refresh rates, etc.), but I don't believe serious gamers use 100", and for casual gaming it shouldn't be critical 4 - physical activity near the screen ;) kids running or playing switch sports, etc. (and one shouldn't look into the laser) 5 - TV needs less "care" generally - ALR screens are relatively more gentle 6 - decent TV could still be brighter with whatever outstanding nits that high TV models advertise

Nice setup already! Since you're gaming a lot, I'd prioritize low input lag and 120Hz support especially for Xbox and PS5. The Formovie Theater and PX3 Pro are great for colors and contrast, but the LG HU915QE might edge out slightly on brightness. Waiting on the L9Q could be smart if you're not in a rush it might bring upgrades without a big price jump.

Also that cabinet is going to shorten the life of your projector. It seems like it's blocking the side vents. On my Hisense UST the manual says to allow like 8" inches of airflow on each side.
