I actually just ordered the Hisense M2 Pro Wednesday and set it up yesterday just before the new review video dropped. I'm using mine with an Apple TV 4K (Gen 3) hooked up to it, which was my plan all along as I already had the Apple TV box, but I did spend around half of yesterday checking out the built-in VIDAA platform. Something I noticed is that I was seeing some pretty garish colors (and certainly reds) in places under VIDAA, but not when using my Apple TV box plugged into it. I have a feeling that some tweaking of color settings might cure a lot (and maybe all) of what I was seeing, but since it was all fine through the Apple TV box I haven't looked into it. I would, however, like to hear what settings work best, because while my typical use won't include toting the M2 Pro around, I'm sure I will occasionally do so, and it would be nice to be able to do that with just the projector itself. (EDIT: Plus, I'm sure it will further enhance the Apple TV box experience as well... how could it not? But for some reason hooking up the ATV actually made an improvement on the colors. This is with Dolby Vision enabled on the ATV in case that matters.)

I received the valerian visionmaster pro2 today and the light bleed was terrible. There's a high pitch buzzing noise that drove me mad . I dont have alr screens just a 100 inch matt white screen. I didn't like the picture quality of the valerian on my screen. The black levels on my jmgo n1s 4k on the same screen was better Adjusting dbl on the valerian did nothing.made no difference. The nebula x1 and hisense c2 ultra worked better on my setup but where too noisy My n1s4k is fantastic and on my screen had better black levels than the valerian but not the x1 . The n1s 4k is the most quietest projector I've owned. My valerian has been boxed back up for return .that buzzing noise drove me mad but the valerian did have a really sharp picture Maybe I would have needed a £3000 screen to make the most of the valerian but on my screen I enjoyed the jmgo n1s 4k more .a lot more. Don't believe the hype on these money grabbing sponsored youtube videos. The jmgo n1s is the real deal .I'm waiting on my delivery of the xgimi Horizon 20 pro next. Fingers crossed 🤞

M2 pro is noisy and can't compete with n1s 4k for black levels and fan noise. The n1s 4k is practically silent with better image quality. I owned the m2 , dolby vision does nothing because the m2 isn't bright enough, the black levels are terrible. It has contrast ratio of 1000-1 vs jmgo n1s 4k 1600-1 .the m2 pro it was returned the same day !

I returned my M2 pro after comparing them side by side. The jmgo has much better contrast and no laser speckle giving it a much more cinematic image

I’m thrilled with my first-ever projector, M2 Pro, which I picked up for just $898! The only downside is the Vidaa OS for me, it feels a bit restrictive. Thankfully, I already have my Nvidia Shield TV Pro, which I bought a year ago in anticipation of my first projector setup.

I purchased both the M2 pro and the N1s 4k and I’m inclined to keep the Hisense based on his excellent comparison, but man it feels like the reds are really blown out no matter what settings I use. I haven’t tried everything yet, but do any M2 pro owners out there have settings they can share? I can’t find info virtually anywhere.

r/projectorsTV vs projector for a small apartment — any real user experiences?

Agree with this for the most part. I had an Hisense m2 pro. Your going to have to atleast spend $1000 on Hisense or xgimi etc to get something that’s not junk in 4K. I love mine though did black out curtains etc. keep in mind though where you are going to sit or hang the projector, etc. probably want to install a good sound system or a good soundbar like Samsung etc. I just project mine onto a white wall which while I’m sure I could improve it looks really good to me for now and 150” screen or something in my studio apartment looks massive

The M2 Pro gives you from 65 to 200 inches. I have it and it's an amazing screen protector.

I tested a Hisense M2 Pro It looked amazing, within your budget, but I have no idea regarding input lag. (What would be an acceptable number?)

Epson is a safe brand, apparently. But you will notice the lack of Dolby Vision if you are familiar with it. A grey screen or wall will improve contrast, but nothing will come close to Sony TV. I have a Samsung QLED TV (no Dolby Vision), and compared it to the Hisense M2 Pro, the cheapest Dolby Vision projector available here. The cheap M2 contrast was not great, but if I had to choose I would pick the projector for image size and colour, and portability. Laser speckle can be an issue for some, and some LED laser hybrids might fix the issue.

Don´t buy a Lamp based Projector anymore. What Screen Size do you use?

The high Contrast Numbers are BS "Dynamic Contrast" Marketing Numbers. Even 1000 ANSI Lumen would be bright enough for only 85" You can´t compare a RGB Laser 1:1 to a Lamp based Projector with a Color Wheel. Which "Online Guide" recommends 3000 ANSI Lumen for only 85" Picture Size?
