I actually just ordered the Hisense M2 Pro Wednesday and set it up yesterday just before the new review video dropped. I'm using mine with an Apple TV 4K (Gen 3) hooked up to it, which was my plan all along as I already had the Apple TV box, but I did spend around half of yesterday checking out the built-in VIDAA platform. Something I noticed is that I was seeing some pretty garish colors (and certainly reds) in places under VIDAA, but not when using my Apple TV box plugged into it. I have a feeling that some tweaking of color settings might cure a lot (and maybe all) of what I was seeing, but since it was all fine through the Apple TV box I haven't looked into it. I would, however, like to hear what settings work best, because while my typical use won't include toting the M2 Pro around, I'm sure I will occasionally do so, and it would be nice to be able to do that with just the projector itself. (EDIT: Plus, I'm sure it will further enhance the Apple TV box experience as well... how could it not? But for some reason hooking up the ATV actually made an improvement on the colors. This is with Dolby Vision enabled on the ATV in case that matters.)

I was looking seriously at the N1S 4K late last year but ended up going for the Hisense M2 Pro instead. It was on sale for $999 when I pulled the trigger, although I did later see it on sale for $899 right around Christmas. The M2 Pro has optical zoom, Dolby Vision, and can vertically rotate freely the whole 360 degrees on its built-in gimbal stand. I like all these features. However, the M2 Pro has Hisense's custom VIDAA OS. It kinda sucks, as a smart TV platform. I have an Apple TV 4K hooked up to mine, but it sure would be nice to have a more widely compatible built-in smart OS such as the N1S 4K's Google TV, to make it easier to tote around if the need arises. Also, the eye protection mode on the M2 Pro sucks. If enabled, it will immediately dim out the laser just like the N1S 4K does. But instead of automatically restoring normal function once you're out of the way like the N1S 4K, the M2 Pro will wait for you to push a button on the remote to respond to a dialog to cancel the eye protection mode. And if you don't hit that button within about 30 seconds... it will automatically power itself down. Ridiculous implementation. Plus, the auto-focus and auto-keystone on the M2 Pro eventually arrive at a good result in the end... but they're both *incredibly* slow. All the video reviews I watched on the N1S 4K, these happen pretty much in real-time. Not so for the Hisense. First thing I did was turn them both off because it was just so painful to sit through as I was trying to dial in exactly where I wanted to have the projector positioned. I'm overall very happy with my M2 Pro, but sometimes I still wonder if I should have saved a nice chunk of money and gotten the JMGO. I don't think I would have regretted at all going for the N1S 4K. Major pros that I see on the N1S 4K side: 1) actual usable eye protection mode 2) better built-in smart platform with broad app support that I could see using on its own, leaving the HDMI port free for other things 3) usable auto-focus and auto-keystone 4) smaller and lighter form factor than my M2 Pro -- if you're going to do any traveling with your projector or even shuffling it around room to room, I think this might very well matter (as well as the two points above, regarding smart platform and focus/keystone) 5) less expensive!!! This is never a bad thing, as long as the quality is still there. While I've never had my hands or eyes on an N1S 4K, from all my research, I'd be shocked if it's lacking in any way here. 6) bundles! I see there are still no-cost add on bundles available on the N1S 4K (free screen, or two free pair of 3D glasses, or free stand). Nice if you need or want any of those things. OTOH, *if* you care about optical zoom, and *if* you care about Dolby Vision, then it might be worth also considering the Hisense M2 Pro (at the right sale price, that is). If these are things you can live without, I think you'll be happier saving some money and going with the JMGO N1S 4K. Just my two cents. Sorry for rambling.

For me, compactness really mattered, so while I looked over JMGO's larger models, I ruled them out early on. (And I know, they're still not huge. Just larger than I ideally wanted to live with. Those extra ports sure were tempting all the same, though.) The Hisense M2 Pro, like the similarly sized JMGO N1S 4K, doesn't have a rotating base on its gimbal. But when rotating in the vertical plane, that's where it has 360 degrees of freedom. I actually find this useful because I have mine perched high up, and the non-restricted rotation allowed me to flip it into ceiling mount mode without having to actually ceiling mount it.

I do think the new N3 4K would be the perfect projector for many! However, the N1S 4K is right around 55% of the volume, size-wize, of the N3 4K, looking at the specs. Although I do see the new N3 4K is smaller than the N1S Pro lineup. The Hisense M2 Pro was already pushing it for what I was willing to allow, anyway. I actually made cardboard mockups of the N1S 4K, the N1S Pro, and the 2M Pro before making my final decision. I almost went for the N1S 4K simply because of its smaller size. If the N3 4K had been on the market at the time, though, it would have made my decision tougher, as while it's larger than the 2M Pro, it's not as far off as the N1S Pro was. I also have to say that I like JMGO's approach of putting all the connections on the base of the stand on the N3 4K. While the necessary internal wiring would prohibit full vertical rotation, it sure is a cleaner approach. And since the power connector was there anyway on previous models, why *not* go ahead and put them all on the base?

My Hisense M2 Pro has been running like a champ and produces a great image. I do think it's a very good choice for a smaller 4K projector. And can get very bright, and runs very quietly if the brightness isn't cranked up all the way (which I've never needed to do). Hope my first response wasn't taken as saying "stay away from this!". Just thought it was important to point out relative weak spots as compared to what I saw demonstrated in tons of JMGO N1S 4K reviews before I settled on my choice... stuff that caught me by surprise because none of the M2 Pro reviews I could find at the time made me aware of them. Well... except for the relative poorness of the VIDAA app store. That part I was aware of, and decided I was OK with it, since I already had the Apple TV 4K. I do still think it would be nice to have the option to "travel light" with just the M2 Pro, but I personally find too many holes in the VIDAA app store, at least in the US. I do envy that super-fast, super-fluid always-on auto focus/keystone JMGO owners have, though! Not that it's something I would typically actually *need* to have turned on, but with it enabled on the Hisense M2 Pro, even nudging the projector slightly will kick off a long delay while it calibrates. One nice thing, though, is there's a dedicated button on the (very nice) M2 Pro remote to manually kick off an auto-focus when actually desired.

I received the valerian visionmaster pro2 today and the light bleed was terrible. There's a high pitch buzzing noise that drove me mad . I dont have alr screens just a 100 inch matt white screen. I didn't like the picture quality of the valerian on my screen. The black levels on my jmgo n1s 4k on the same screen was better Adjusting dbl on the valerian did nothing.made no difference. The nebula x1 and hisense c2 ultra worked better on my setup but where too noisy My n1s4k is fantastic and on my screen had better black levels than the valerian but not the x1 . The n1s 4k is the most quietest projector I've owned. My valerian has been boxed back up for return .that buzzing noise drove me mad but the valerian did have a really sharp picture Maybe I would have needed a £3000 screen to make the most of the valerian but on my screen I enjoyed the jmgo n1s 4k more .a lot more. Don't believe the hype on these money grabbing sponsored youtube videos. The jmgo n1s is the real deal .I'm waiting on my delivery of the xgimi Horizon 20 pro next. Fingers crossed 🤞

M2 pro is noisy and can't compete with n1s 4k for black levels and fan noise. The n1s 4k is practically silent with better image quality. I owned the m2 , dolby vision does nothing because the m2 isn't bright enough, the black levels are terrible. It has contrast ratio of 1000-1 vs jmgo n1s 4k 1600-1 .the m2 pro it was returned the same day !

I returned my M2 pro after comparing them side by side. The jmgo has much better contrast and no laser speckle giving it a much more cinematic image

I have the hisense m2 pro on a 100". It is my first projector and it blew away all our expectations we are addicted. Haven't gamed on it though. Was really worried with the lumens we wouldnt be able to use it in the day time but we have decent blinds and with them closed its still great.

I’m thrilled with my first-ever projector, M2 Pro, which I picked up for just $898! The only downside is the Vidaa OS for me, it feels a bit restrictive. Thankfully, I already have my Nvidia Shield TV Pro, which I bought a year ago in anticipation of my first projector setup.

I purchased both the M2 pro and the N1s 4k and I’m inclined to keep the Hisense based on his excellent comparison, but man it feels like the reds are really blown out no matter what settings I use. I haven’t tried everything yet, but do any M2 pro owners out there have settings they can share? I can’t find info virtually anywhere.
