r/projectorsSeeking recommendation for a good projector that is 4K resolution (3840x2160), standard range (not short throw), 5000-6000 lumens, a reliable brand, and a good price.

I feel like I just wrote an ad for a dating service. Lol. **UPDATE (Thanks to your help):** I now realize that 4000 lumens is plenty (higher can actually be too much for indoor viewing). What I am currently looking at buying is Hisense Vidda C3 Ultra for $1300 from Alibaba. The price is about half of what you'd pay in America for the same product. It's superior to the Hisense C2 and is made by the same company. Vidda is a Chinese sub-company within Hisense. It has motion smoothing (a selling point for me). Combined with a Fire Stick 4k Max, this should do just fine. For the record, I've been using a 1080p, 4000 lumen projector (BenQ MH741) for 7 years up 'til now, and it has actually been amazing-- not to mention that it lasted this long, flawlessly-- but I want to finally upgrade to 4k resolution and not sacrifice any lumens. I'd like to step up the lumens slightly so the entire upgrade is worth it. That's why I am looking for 5000 lumens minimum, or a 4000 lumen at an amazing price. I am projecting on a \~140" screen, on a white wall about 15 feet away. Not controlled lighting. We have 3 giant windows. We only watch at night because of this. It's indoor. 140" projection area on a wall painted pure white. No projector screen. **Price targets for 4k projector, based on lumens:** * up to $1500 for a laser projector with 3000-4000 lumens and 60hz at 4K resolution * up to $1000 for a non-laser projector with 3000-4000 lumens and 60hz at 4K resolution **MUST BE 4K.** So far the best options I've found are either: * LG ProBeam BU60 (This projector is great except the $2500-$3200 price tag is a higher than desired and it's only 60hz at 4K) * Hisense Vidda C3 Ultra for $1300 from Alibaba (+ $270 tariffs & shipping). It's superior to the Hisense C2 (a quality product) and is made by the same company. The price is about half of what you'd pay in America for the same product. Vidda is a Chinese sub-brand within Hisense. It has motion smoothing (a selling point for me). Combined with a Fire Stick 4k Max, this should do just fine. **<-- I ended up buying this because it was the best cost/performance combination.** I can be flexible on price if my targets are simply unrealistic. Prefer name brand over non name brand, but if there's a good one I'm unaware of then please share it. Thank you in advance for your help.

I ended up returning this as it was basically identical to my older BenQ projector. Not bad, but just not an upgrade in any meaningful way. Liking the c3 ultra so far

Another c3 ultra here, 150" screen in a blacked out room and it's as glorious as I can imagine. Some rainbow but doesn't bother me. $1400 from Alibaba really can't be beat

r/projectorsIs 100 inch really not worth it?

It depends and i wouldnt trust what everyone says because of different setups/experiences. From my perspective i had dangbei Atom 1080P projector overall very good portable projector with plenty brightness but i would choose 60-70 inch TV over it. Its just superior not even a debate. Recently i got Vidda C3 Ultra 4k projector with 110 inch screen and i would choose this projector over the TV any day. Period. It has really good sound and the crisp 4k image is just jaw dropping. But i do not watch TV during the day, my viewing experience is always during the night.

Vidda C3 Ultra here. 120”, Dolby Vision, low gain gray screen… I’m not sure I’d be able to perceive higher resolution at this size. It is offensively clear and bright enough to watch comfortably in a room full of windows. I got so mentally hung up on a lifestyle projector not being a true upgrade that I put off getting anything for a year but I was so wrong. Make the switch. You’ll love it.

Yeah a bit of you move your eyes back and forth but it’s just wacky how good things have gotten and for how little money.

Valerion is white labeled crap. Get a C3 ultra from China directly, it is much better and cheaper

I would refund and get the C3. I have it on hand now, no regrets whatsoever

r/projectorsValerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one?

None of the above. Valerion is whitelabeled crap like its sister company AWOL. Get the Hisense C2/C3 series instead

How big a screen do you want? I think you can do a 160-180 inch screen easily on that big of a wall. I have a Vidda c3 ultra from Alibaba got it shipped for 1250 USD, the rest of the budget can go into getting a fabric vowen screen! Hope this helps.

150 inch at 4 meters is easily doable. I am projecting a 168 inch screen using the Vidda c3 ultra from 3.8 meters. So yes, you are fine at 150 inches, you can go higher as well. Vowen fabric is available in various shops local and online, a lot of people Diy their own screen, which is easily doable and makes it budget friendly. I have come across people discussing about buying it from online stores as well, so it should be available online, need to look around. I am projecting onto a white wall, so that is an option as well.

I would suggest the new Vidda C3 Series and Xgimi RS20 Series. Vidda provides wide throw rate from 0.9 to 1.5 while Xgimi is at 1.2 to 1.5. However Xgimi provides lens shift, 45% horizontal shift and 120% vertical. These models will be on sale tonight, and I will be getting one of them. I don't know if you can get one soon enough during your visit.
