DONT DO LASER. Since you are projecting on an imperfect surface you are gonna experience alot of laser speckle. I just got my n1s pro 4k and i need to fix my walls to get rid of the speckle. If you want to mount a screen or smooth out your ceiling then i HIGHLY recommend JMGO, amazing picture at great prices. Just use them with a proper screen.

This particular projector needs to be at exactly 10'5" from the screen (and centered at the bottom edge of the screen) to product a 120" diagonal image. This is because it has a fixed focal length (ie. no zoom), which is really weird for a projector this expensive. Most projectors in this price range have some level of optical zoom so you can vary projector placement on one axis. Tl; dr, this projector will be very unforgiving wrt its placement.

I just bought the N1S Pro, I want to use it now before it gets too cold outside. Maybe it’ll drop another $100? I personally don’t care this is good enough of a deal for me.

I got an n1s pro 4k off of AliExpress for ~£650 (8/900 usd) all in and it’s fantastic for the price! (After having changed the language to English)

N1S Ultra. Gonna be nice to be able to watch a projected image above like 150 ANSI 720p image (being generous) with my bedroom light on. Gonna budget for a proper screen next when I figure screen size and location

I have an N1S 4K, coming from a 1080p native LED projector. Picture on N1S is quite nice, it’s bright (in appropriate room, eg dark), colors are spot on and there’s indeed a noticeable difference in sharpness and details, and that’s on a 70" screen. Real ANSI is around 950 lumens on max settings (advertised ANSI is possible on overdrive but the picture get a greenish tone). About speckle yes there’s speckle with max laser, on a white 1.1 gain screen. It doesn’t bother me but it is noticeable on some colors/scenes if you pay attention. Beware : power consumption is low (~65W) but it’s not a portable projector, there’s a standard round power input and a brick style power supply. If you want a true portable laser projector, check the Fengmi S5 (CN version not the global), it’s quite good but 1080p.

Enjoy!! I’ve been using my N1A 4K for a couple of months and absolutely love it! Phenomenal projector for the price point for it’s size.

Ok these are the things I don't like from the one I purchased because JMGO lies to you in your face: 1. **is not real 4k is XPR technology 1920 by 1080 at 240hz** this translates into the second lie 2. **It is not 240 hz refresh rate not even in 1920 by 1080** because of how XPR works [https://www.projectorjunkies.com/4k-dlp-projectors-is-it-real-4k-xpr-technology-explanation/](https://www.projectorjunkies.com/4k-dlp-projectors-is-it-real-4k-xpr-technology-explanation/) 3. **you will be stuck at 60hz** no matter what resolution is windows/mac showing you, after testing **it just does not show real 240hz or 120hz output** here is the test if you want to replicate it [https://testufo.com/frameskipping](https://testufo.com/frameskipping) 4. finally **is not HDMI 2.1 as advertised it is HDMI 2.0 with eARC** that means **no RGB at 10 bit Full, not YCbCr 4:4:4 at 10 bit** which is essential for HDR10, something you can partially workaround with **YCbCr 4:2:2 at 10 bit Limited or RGB 8 bit full (**this last one apparently applies dither to achieve the 10 bit *not 100% confirmed* **)** Now the cool stuff: 1. to be honest XPR technology 4k is amazing you cannot distinguish a real 4k from this 2. I watch movies and play at 112" diagonal and 4k @ 60hz and the experience holds up quite well for both scenarios. 3. image colors are amazing despite the dither or chroma subsampling it feels like a screen and not a projector so great for movies 4. brightness and contrast are quite decent just take into account that from over 80" screen size it starts losing brightness 1100 ISO are unrealistic in daily use here is a useful tool for you to do the calculations in NITS [https://www.projectorcentral.com/JMGO-N1S\_4K-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc](https://www.projectorcentral.com/JMGO-N1S_4K-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc) 5. if you decide to buy it this are my best settings: 1. Picture mode: **dynamic** 2. Brightness, contrast, saturation: all in **50** 3. Sharpness: **5** 4. low latency mode: **low latency** (it just removes the ugly soap opera effect) 5. HDR: **on** 6. Temperature: **Warm** 7. DNR, MPEG NR: **OFF** 8. Adaptative luma: **off** 9. Local contrast: **On, Strong** (helps HDR to do its job) 10. Gamma: **middle** , dark for night (improves colors), bright for extra brightness in controlled daylight 11. Additional it has a color tuner and 11 point white correction that is most control that you can wish even in higher tier projectors so cool to have if you know what you are doing here. 6. it comes with google tv and all its benefits not gonna get to deep but its amazing 7. auto focus and auto keystone do an amazing job but if you want to get picky and go extra it has manual controls from the menu for you. 8. rear projection and celling modes are really appreciate it for versatility. Hope this helps you and other people to make their choice, so far I've really really enjoy it. Recommendation for the price 5/5 JMGO just have to fire their marketing guys and be more transparent with their clients they have a great product here no need for lies.
