DONT DO LASER. Since you are projecting on an imperfect surface you are gonna experience alot of laser speckle. I just got my n1s pro 4k and i need to fix my walls to get rid of the speckle. If you want to mount a screen or smooth out your ceiling then i HIGHLY recommend JMGO, amazing picture at great prices. Just use them with a proper screen.

This particular projector needs to be at exactly 10'5" from the screen (and centered at the bottom edge of the screen) to product a 120" diagonal image. This is because it has a fixed focal length (ie. no zoom), which is really weird for a projector this expensive. Most projectors in this price range have some level of optical zoom so you can vary projector placement on one axis. Tl; dr, this projector will be very unforgiving wrt its placement.

I just bought the N1S Pro, I want to use it now before it gets too cold outside. Maybe it’ll drop another $100? I personally don’t care this is good enough of a deal for me.

I got an n1s pro 4k off of AliExpress for ~£650 (8/900 usd) all in and it’s fantastic for the price! (After having changed the language to English)

Brightness & contrast, color accuracy if you can't modify it later. Latency for gaming. I have the same projector btw. I wouldn't mind more lumens during the day but I find it plenty so far. One major factor is longevity :D Hope it doesnt die after 2.1 years.

Got a tiny jmgo pico for my GF. I have experience with the jmgo N1S 4K downstairs and I've been impressed. JMGO pico would fit easily on the headboard and is very comfortable with all sorts of slants/ceilings. She puts it on ceiling or different type of setups when she travels for work. 1080p though.

Same, upside down, bought as soon as it appeared on the market. Did not notice light spill.

I used to be in the market for those, ended up with the jmgo 4K N1S. Cinebeam had heating issues and GV50 is 1080p (by memory). These days I think you can do better than both of these models. MOGO4 for example?

That's a lot of budget. I'm happy with my jmgo 4k n1s for bit gaming and movies. 1k usd or less.

I have a picoflix btw and another jmgo N1S 4K. Can vouch for it in terms of quality. XGIMI killing it too btw. Never heard of the philips before to be honest :D

There's a wrap up at the end of the year [https://www.mondoprojos.fr/2025/12/18/guide-dachat-2025-les-meilleurs-videoprojecteurs-testes-sur-mondoprojos-fr/](https://www.mondoprojos.fr/2025/12/18/guide-dachat-2025-les-meilleurs-videoprojecteurs-testes-sur-mondoprojos-fr/) I myself only have a jmgo N1S 4K as my main, but it's fun to see the evolution of home projectors!

I have the N1S as the main. I wanted 4K mostly for gaming. I previously had a wanbo TT (1080p). Cheaper projecters get a lot of shit here but it was great for movie nights (low light or none at all) and has been used under heavy use - 8hrs a day if not more as a background youtube type player while working for almost two years. Wanbo gets some hate but I very easily changed a burned polarizer for like 25usd very quickly. They made it very simple to do (I have a post about it somewhere on reddit). A good movie on 1080p if done right can be more than enough but if you can afford it : N1S is really quality especially if you watch a lot of 4K movies or game. Have you looked into the xmigi mogo4? I almost went for a mogo or dangbei N2 back then until the N1S came out with a great deal for early buyers.

Yes, the N1S is a huge upgrade over the wanbo TT. I use both regularly. Works great with PS5 as well in low latency mode (gaming not even needed unless FPS). I think that the jmgo is worth the extra money vs the mogo4. I wouldnt pay that much for a 1080p projector. There are some great discounts these days on the JMGO.

The JMGO N1S 4K that I have has a low latency mode and a gaming mode. Gaming mode is at 18-20ms but you lose any 4p correction so the screen has to be perfectly placed. Low latency doesnt have that problem, and is the version I use to play most games like god of war or whatnot, and is apparently 35-40ms and perfectly fine for that usecase.

I am from Greece and I have ordered the xgimi z9x 4k projector (it has a Chinese menu) through the alibaba platform at a good price. Of course I don't feel like taking a risk because I already received the XGIMI rs 20 ultra, which also has a Chinese menu, via alibaba. It requires a little patience and in combination with a TV box/TV stick, the result is excellent. I personally made these choices for a better financial result. You obviously want to receive relatively quickly. Two great 4k options with relatively fast pickup are: hisense 4k M2 pro and JMGO n1s4k., the first with vidda operating system and the second with Google. Both are global releases and one can watch netflix, disney etc. o JMGO is around two kilos and hisense around 4 with a better processor and AI

Just fyi, theres a newer version of the n1s 4k that fixes the light spill with a new lens design. https://preview.redd.it/7yvzwpt2evuf1.jpeg?width=12240&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ac7b249d6744454cde11f6db0dd9643071e98b0

I'm just saying it's shitty that they still sell their old stock when they released a better version that fixes an issue. I had to go through the process of returning the same one OP got and re order

Yes, it fixes the light spill but there's still a tiny bit, nothing compared to the initial version they released

Enjoy!! I’ve been using my N1A 4K for a couple of months and absolutely love it! Phenomenal projector for the price point for it’s size.

Been using my N1S 4K for ~4 months now and absolutely love it! For the price, quality is stunning!
