DONT DO LASER. Since you are projecting on an imperfect surface you are gonna experience alot of laser speckle. I just got my n1s pro 4k and i need to fix my walls to get rid of the speckle. If you want to mount a screen or smooth out your ceiling then i HIGHLY recommend JMGO, amazing picture at great prices. Just use them with a proper screen.

This particular projector needs to be at exactly 10'5" from the screen (and centered at the bottom edge of the screen) to product a 120" diagonal image. This is because it has a fixed focal length (ie. no zoom), which is really weird for a projector this expensive. Most projectors in this price range have some level of optical zoom so you can vary projector placement on one axis. Tl; dr, this projector will be very unforgiving wrt its placement.

I just bought the N1S Pro, I want to use it now before it gets too cold outside. Maybe it’ll drop another $100? I personally don’t care this is good enough of a deal for me.

I got an n1s pro 4k off of AliExpress for ~Ā£650 (8/900 usd) all in and it’s fantastic for the price! (After having changed the language to English)

I received the valerian visionmaster pro2 today and the light bleed was terrible. There's a high pitch buzzing noise that drove me mad . I dont have alr screens just a 100 inch matt white screen. I didn't like the picture quality of the valerian on my screen. The black levels on my jmgo n1s 4k on the same screen was better Adjusting dbl on the valerian did nothing.made no difference. The nebula x1 and hisense c2 ultra worked better on my setup but where too noisy My n1s4k is fantastic and on my screen had better black levels than the valerian but not the x1 . The n1s 4k is the most quietest projector I've owned. My valerian has been boxed back up for return .that buzzing noise drove me mad but the valerian did have a really sharp picture Maybe I would have needed a Ā£3000 screen to make the most of the valerian but on my screen I enjoyed the jmgo n1s 4k more .a lot more. Don't believe the hype on these money grabbing sponsored youtube videos. The jmgo n1s is the real deal .I'm waiting on my delivery of the xgimi Horizon 20 pro next. Fingers crossed šŸ¤ž

M2 pro is noisy and can't compete with n1s 4k for black levels and fan noise. The n1s 4k is practically silent with better image quality. I owned the m2 , dolby vision does nothing because the m2 isn't bright enough, the black levels are terrible. It has contrast ratio of 1000-1 vs jmgo n1s 4k 1600-1 .the m2 pro it was returned the same day !

Noise has been a problem for me .I tried the hisense c1 ,c2 and c2 ultra .the one I found that's perfect and silent is the jmgo n1 4k In my small room I have to have the projector about 3 feet from my head and I can't hear a thing .

At the $1000, most projectors won’t be super bright, so in a living room you’ll probably want the curtains closed for the best results. Since you watch a lot of horror, a 4K model is worth considering because the extra detail really helps in darker scenes. The JMGO N1S 4K is one option, and it should be solid for movies and streaming, though there are a few other good choices depending on sales. Enjoy the horror marathons. For the screen, it really depends on your wall. If it’s smooth and a neutral color, it works fine to start. If the paint has a tint or the surface isn’t perfectly even, you might see some color shifts, so a simple matte-white screen can help. No need for ALR screens unless your room is really bright since those get pricey, and curtains usually handle most of the lighting issues.

Projecting on a ceiling while lying down on the bed makes my nights so comfortable. I’m also excited to do digital displays on windows this Halloween using my N1S.

I would pick the JMGO N1. Pretty cheap for its performance, doesnt need to be totally aligned with the wall, not a total danger for fire (no batteries) in the cabin when you leave it plugged in. If you’ve got unlimited internet, then the 4k JMGO is right for you. But if not, then the 1080p JMGO N1 would be good and not guzzle precious WIFI data
