Thank you for this video! I'm planning to upgrade my JMGO N1S (non-4k version). Only problem is where can I purchase one without the excessive customs tax.

Nothing really surprising about it. He's worked hard to get his knowledge and cares about growing his channel. He takes constructive criticism really well. I've given him some over the years and he took it to heart instead of dismissing it. He is active on forums like AVS and is a member here as well. That's exactly what makes it not surprising at all. I know I don't care as much as he does. I just enjoy the hobby.

The JMGO N1S is a serious cut above the Samsung Freestyle. Remember, you want quality over cute every day of the week. Coming from something cheap, the N1S should be close in price to the Freestyle and gives you a real bump in brightness and overall performance and reliability. Yeah, models that cost $3,000 look better. Models like the XGimi Horizon 20 ($1,500) look better. But, at your budget, if it is around the same as what the Freestyle often costs, then the JMGO N1S is a real step up in what you are after. The Hook Up (as mentioned) has videos that cover this, but the N1S won their portable shootout a couple of years ago at $1,000. At half that price it is a real powerhouse of a product.

With proper care, they are as reliable as most other brands out there like Samsung or LG. XGimi isn't a new company and has been pretty active for over 10 years now. JMGO is newer. Hisense is a MASSIVE company and is in the same league as Samsung when it comes to electronics. Samsung is #1, but Hisense is #2. So, yeah, they are a pretty solid company. That said, companies like Hisense and Samsung don't prioritize projectors in their business model. Companies like JMGO and XGimi do. So, we are seeing more advancement from the smaller brands than the larger ones. One of the absolute top tier companies is JVC, who people barely think about when it comes to electronics these days. But, in the world of projectors, JVC is pretty close to being the top dog. There are also brands consumers have never heard of like Christie Digital and Barco who often operate at the very high end.

As I sit here staring at a Valerion Max, I feel like your opinion on this is kinda crazy. For what it is worth, I can't stand sparkling, and do notice it when I see it. I'm also RBE sensitive, and I am capable of seeing it with this model, and it is incredibly low RBE compared to other models I have seen. If you just don't like DLP, then that has nothing to do with the light technology used.

I don't have any high pitched noise at all. The projector runs really quiet overall. I seriously have no idea if there has been any firmware update for RBE reduction, but I can tell you I just find RBE very hard to see on this one. Feels like an 8x or faster color wheel equivalent. I have to look for RBE, and even then, it's barely there. So, thumbs up to them on doing a great job. I see it way easier on my BenQ W1070, which I do find mildly irritating when watching a movie.

JMGO N1 is a really solid model with much better brightness and a gimbal stand that may work really well for your setup needs.

Take a bit of time and look at the JMGO website. The N1 is only $500 and is a fair bit brighter than the listed XGimi. XGimi often also struggles with contrast on their portable models of this nature. JMGO also has their lower end 4K models which are decently reviewed and another step up in brightness. The BenQ TH575 is a more traditional projector. This means setup isn't super easy. You have to position it fairly exactly and it requires manual keystone correction. It is brighter, but may not be ideal for casual bedroom use like you are after. Especially since the lens MUST be on center as it has no horizontal keystone correction. 4-corner correction is pretty normal on the newest portable/lifestyle models which are on the market and helps make setup easier. You may want to search for 'bedroom' within this group as this question is asked several times a week.

Portable projectors setup on a tripod or using a gimbal mount are good at this. I’ve used an LG, but the Nexigo Nova Mini or the JMGO N1S are really good at this setup. You can see quality reviews of these models at www.youtube.com/thehookup - He has the best videos and reviews for these types of projectors and specifically shows them aimed at the ceiling. You may want better speakers. I use a decent Bluetooth speaker for a bump up in audio quality.

You can't use a UST (Ultra short throw) screen with a standard throw (N1S) projector. That's not how they work. You would need a standard throw ALR (ambient light rejecting) screen for a standard throw projector like the N1S. These screens aren't magic though. Under enough ambient light, they are pretty much useless.

JMGO N1S is right at $500 and is the one I would likely choose right now. It's not 'bright' but it is in the same league as the Atom. Both the N1S and the Atom are covered in this shootout video, and the N1S was considered the 'best' of the models which were tested, while the Atom came in 3rd. So, very respectable quality for all of them. The BenQ GV50 ranked very well from a major manufacturer, but their brightness isn't as good, and their pricing has gone up, while everyone else has come down. At the time of this test, the N1S was about $1,000, so at $500, it's a much more attractive option. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmmGQOSAReI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmmGQOSAReI) Watch other videos on his channel as well. He has an updated portable projector shootout, but I'm not sure if there are better values than the N1S right now that look as good.

The Atom is a 1080p model. I like the form factor a lot, but I'm not sure how reliable it is due to this form factor. The N1S is a larger model, so not as portable, but is just a bit better. If the Atom looked better, or I needed the portability, I'd get it in a second. But, with it being more expensive, it makes no sense at all. The N1S 4K may be a solid choice, but it is a more expensive option.

Why are you responding in someone else's post? DLP produces the rainbow effect. It's not lasers, but the use of a single chip DLP projector. Faster refresh of colors, as found with lasers or LED modules instead of a spinning color wheel can help reduce RBE. Make sure you know what RBE is vs. speckle. Laser speckle can be reduced with the right screen. Or, by using a laser/phosphor projector or a high power LED projector (BenQ makes some). If you really DO mean rainbow effect, then going to LCD projectors (Epson) or LCoS projectors (Sony/JVC), will not have this problem at all regardless of light source.

JMGO N1S 1080P es lo mejor y más barato nuevo. Algún Epson/BenQ usado.

This is the non 4K version and it absolutely crushes it. Quality is amazing, speakers are amazing, brightness is totally impressive for how bright the environment is. Its projected against a white wall from about 3 meters. Zoom in to see it how i actually see it live. Got it from their website bundled with free 3D glasses and a 100" screen for 500 USD and free shipping was unsure about getting the 4K but then found reviews how the N1S has more usable lumens (950 versus 750 which is quite a bit) and i cant see how the 4K could have significantly better quality anyway without 4K content.

the n1s is easily the best value in the market. make sure to put it in the basket and then just leave it after you entered your shipping details. this will trigger a marketing sequence where they will give you 50 usd off plus 3d glasses. they are also officially bundling a 100" screen and free shipping for 590 usd currently

no its a tri laser, they dont usually have rainbow effects. thats a dlp thing i believe. 4k also needs 4k content, and then its often achieved via pixel shift anyway. the n1s is plenty sharp already for netflix content

yes thats true, i mistaken it with the dlp technology. most dlp used a colorwheel while the n1s uses a tri laser. colorwheel dlp technology produces the most rbe and the n1s basically has none. at least no one of my family or the few youtube reviewers  noticed anything

apparantly its especially an issue for dlp with colorwheel, which the n1s doesnt have. reviews dont mention a rainbow effect at all, while they point it out with others. my family and i dont see one either. theres some laser specs going on in dark scenes if you are very close but its a non issue for me.

Jmgo projectors are triple laser DLP and look amazing from my experience. N1 line gets you android TV os while N1S series gets you google TV os. Can recommend highly as the color is 🤌🤌

I can provide measurements. Budget is probably sub-$1000. For reference, those monitors are 27'' and I'm looking to hook whatever I buy up to a Google TV. If a projector isn't a good fit here, I'd have to go with a TV, but I'd be a bit hesitant mounting a TV to my ceiling. Yes that chipped paint is very annoying. I am looking for a solution to that problem. If you rent please never stick adhesives to the ceiling future tenants will hate you. Update: I went with the JMGO N1S. Seems to have a lot of positive reviews on here, was in my budget, and was basically spot on for my requirements for mounting and casting range.

I'm agree, I have the N1S for a month, 570€, and it's a really good quality/price ratio

No such issues on my JMGO projector. Possibly due to it being a triple-laser unit.  (Never imagined there'd be a 4k/3d/auto-focus/triple laser projector for under $800!). Neither I nor any of the reviews I've seen have noted RBE on any of these. But as others note, maybe a person by person thing.
