I love my projector, but it’s an investment. I started off with a $200 1080p Amazon projector. A few years later I upgraded to the $1700 Lg hu70LA 4k short throw projector. Just recently moved to a new place and we finally went all in on an $6000 ultra short throw (UST) projector. If you’re interested in one, start cheap and small and see if you like it. Learn the setup, specialized issues, etc. and see if you find it worth it. If you do then you can start building. The UST is the most like a tv. Easy set up and right up against the wall. However it is also 6x as expensive as a comparable TV in terms of clarity. Mine is set up for 120”, and there is no tv that compares. I don’t miss having a tv. I like the lack of eye fatigue from not staring at light bulbs, and everyone in my house loves the size. I love fiddling with the thing too. However, it is not for everyone, and if you want something easy just get a tv.
Same on an LG HU70LS
I once tried the LG 4k projector(native), the one that comes with a handle and is a tall rectangular box like structure. I didn't see much of a difference between the Epson 5050Ube and the LG projector, when I compared a 4K disc. I am commenting this as a lay person, I did no do much tweaking.
