Hi! So I bought MagCubic HY300 recently but I returned it. Here's my personal review - It's 720p resolution, which means all apps will run at 720p or HD Quality, like Disney+, Netflix, etc. The only exception here I noticed is Youtube, which that can run up to 4k. - I dislike the colors its producing, it has so much blue in its RGB aspect of colors. Too cold color temp for my taste and it's difficult to adjust, heck even adjusting the RGB is non existent. There's only Hue and Saturation available for quality adjustment. - I have only encountered this on Disney+, but whenever you try to play anything in it, it will not load and the audio will stop working even when switching to another app, your only option is to clear cache or reboot the unit - There is 0.5s-1s delay when I tried playing with Xbox Controller + It is a decent unit if you are not really picky and just want to watch conveniently + Audio is decent too if you are in a small room, it lacks bass though but it's there + Wifi, Bluetooth, HDMI and USB (keyboard) all are working flawlessly + Actually easy to use and portable Adjusting the four points trapezoid to adjust to you viewing preference is a challenge, but it will do Adjusting the focus is on the top of the HY300 and its like a scroll mousewheel Check Catymandoo's suggestion - The Hook Up Round off for projectors 2024. Hit me a pm if you'd like to see some samples.

I did this rig some time ago and couldn't bear the projector's delay. It might be my HY300's problem but at the time I was playing DMC4 and it was nasty. Ended up exchanging the same projector for some games from some dude who sold his PS3.

I have owned 4 models of Magcubic & one of Salange. Hy300 mini, HY300, HT600 (android version) & HY450. I will say that HT600 had best clarity, sharpness & contrast but it had to be kept far, HY450 is definitely brightest, loudest both in terms of speakers as well as fan, contrast is second best but looks cheap in comparison to HT600. Also HY450 gets 2gb RAM/32GB storage whereas others get 1gb RAM & 8 or 16gb storage

"I just loved the HY300 PRO and HY320, Gys! Both are Chinese, and there's no brand, lol. You can find good prices on Shopee for around $40–$50. They’re not disposable—I’ve had mine for two years. The best part is that you can buy five of them, and it’ll still be a good deal, tho!"

Hi! I have a HY300 and I'm quite happy with it for seeing animation and random YouTube videos but for films is really lacking so I wanted to make an upgrade I can't afford a 500$ projector but I see these two projectors which are 1080p native (vs the 720p of the hy300) and have better specs overall. I saw that the Happrun is very very popular and have great reviews on YouTube but the Yaber has better specs like double the lumens. What would you choose if you were in my position? Are these projectors a noticeable upgrade from the HY300?

Hey everyone, Looking for a projector to use on the ceiling, mainly for watching stuff from bed at night. I’ve been doing this for a while and really enjoy it, so I’m ready to upgrade. About a year ago I bought a MAGSHITCUBIC HY300 on Aliexpress for 20€, super cheap, just to try the setup. It actually worked fine for a while, but now the image has developed some slightly visible brownish spots, probably due to heat or dust buildup. Now that I know I like this kind of setup, I want something better. Ideally: -Good brightness -Better contrast & resolution -Quiet fan -Decent durability Budget is flexible, just looking for something clearly better than this junky starter model. Any tips or recommendations are super welcome, thanks! 🙌 Also, I’m curious, has anyone else tried projecting onto the ceiling from bed at night? Do you think it’s a decent setup, or does it potentially cause issues for the projector over time (heat, orientation, etc.)?

I’ve always had it in a dark room with curtains. So it looks nice anytime of day lol. Not bad for $70 on Amazon. I’ll let you know the brand when I get back home if you’re interested. I forget what it is.

It is indeed! I just got home to look at it. Also some other guy in the comments had one as well! It’s probably not great. But I’m not a big stickler for how cheap it was. I think it’s 720p resolution. Sorry I wish I knew more about it. It works for me!

DMC4 is next up! Yeah it’s not the best projector. But for the price, I’m fine with it. I think I paid $70 for it. I haven’t noticed any substantial delays during NGS2.

They have a new HY300 PRO that claims to be 1080p for $59.99 USD. There’s many options between $40 and $60.

You don't necessarily need to be poor to buy one of these. I'm a college student with a HY300 for use in my dorm room. It's been awesome to watch movies and play a couple multiplayer games with my friends. The average person that buys a projector seems to have the money to pay for a $500-$2000 device. I feel like it desensitizes people to those who can't afford or don't need to drop that sort of cash.
