"But will it do the job I need for the budget price I am willing to pay right now? Absolutely. And if it breaks in a year? I’ll probably buy another one, or by that time, perhaps I’ll have money to buy a better one. ... I'm beyond happy to have a $100 one in my bedroom so I can watch an episode of Seinfeld or a late show with my wife before we fall asleep."
"Not bad for $70 on Amazon. ... But for the price, I’m fine with it. I think I paid $70 for it."
"About a year ago I bought a MAGSHITCUBIC HY300 on Aliexpress for 20€, super cheap, just to try the setup. ... I actually started with the HY300 just to try ceiling projection. ... For me these little cheap projectors are worth the price you pay for them under 70/80€ they are ok"

"for my needs, it's great and I'm keeping it. ... It was called the Magcubic Mini and yes I’m very happy with it, still. Use it all the time! ... for watching shows in bed it’s amazing."

"I usually fall asleep after about 20 minutes, and the projector turns off automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity. ... Honestly, most of the time I just put on something like a video, livestream, or a show/cartoon I'm into, then I lie on my side and fall asleep, breaking the sacred ‘vampire-in-a-sarcophagus’ pose. I don’t think I’ve ever used it for more than half an hour. Once the content ends, the projector automatically shuts off after 5 minutes of inactivity. ... I just watch for a bit, then either fall asleep or turn it off. Sometimes I even use it in black and white, and the eye protection mode (blue light filter) kicks in automatically after 9 PM. Super relaxing setup."

Hey all! I'm new to using projectors and wanted to share my experience. I started with a Magcubic projector I found on tiktok for $40. Figured it'd be a good place to start. Got the HY300 Pro+ and it was, underwhelming to say the least. I've always wanted a movie like experience at home but this was not it. Stuck on android 11 and 720p picture quality. After researching, I found that I wasn't going to be able to really rely on built in apps with most of the budget projectors out there. So I decided to search for something that had more of the physical features I wanted. Like connecting to wired external speakers, better focus, brighter and I wanted to have adjustable angles as I want to play games on the ceiling in bed sometimes. That's when I found VOPLLS projector on Amazon. Normally runs for around $200 but was able to pick it up on discount for $130. It checked all the boxes, adjustable angles with side inputs, 3.5mm jack out, Bluetooth, analog AV input (red, yellow, white, thinking of hooking up my og Xbox or Sega to it). Wasn't expecting that last one but it's a bonus! I received it today and I have to say, it's a decent little projector. It has bright vivid colors, crisp picture and the remote is actually responsive. So far, I'm pretty happy with this purchase! Even with my fiance lamp on, I was able to see it pretty well on just the wall. I'm sure with the right screen it'd be even better. If anyone has any recommendations for a screen can be hung on the wall let me know! This is just the first day of use so I'll have to update later on how it's been using it. We watched Wednesday with one of our kids and you could barely tell it was playing on a textured wall! Here's some pics, even Norman Reedus and Lou approved.
r/budgetprojectors • VOPLLS "4K" box projector ->got a happrun H1 for about $50 just for when traveling, and its pretty great so far, i do expect it will suddenly die too, but if i get a few vacations out of it, its worth it. Also my work found a large box full of the HY300 Pro units projectors, so i got one of those as well and its half way decent. My main projector is a BenQ X3000i, but those cheap toy ones are not bad if you dont want to track down a used one on FBM or craigslist, and just want to have a bit of fun, and know that they may die at any time.
r/projectors • Cheap projectors have come a long way ->no, also its the hy300 pro just rebranded and they charge you for shipping, you could get this [https://a.co/d/6Q9sNf4](https://a.co/d/6Q9sNf4) instead with free shipping, but i wouldnt get that either. This happrun h1 would be much better [https://a.co/d/6eoDWpF](https://a.co/d/6eoDWpF) as far as cheap Chinese projectors go. Got the h1 for like $50 bucks just to take on a trip and not worry if it broke, have an hy300 pro as well, we found a box of them outside my work, its just ok, but lower resolution and lower brightness as well as higher latency for gaming than the happrun H1, so id suggest it if you are dead set on a cheap one from amazon. (my main projector is a benq x3000i though) Though best option would be to try to find a used name brand one on marketplace, like epson, benq, viewsonic, etc.
r/projectors • Is the Cineglow worth the 43$ on amazon? ->I have HY300 Pro which is the cheapest 720p projector, and along with high HDMI latency (~200ms) and slow decoding speed (+~40ms) it is unplayable. I have reduced decoding time to 28ms average by boosting target fps to 60 and reduced latency via Moonlight - Sunshine screen projection from windows to ~7ms, getting in total with encoding < 50ms, which is great for slow paced games. Hence, 720p is the bottleneck now and i have no options to fix it, but i guess 2k projector with lower lag time would make great experience.
r/projectors • Gaming on a projector. Pros & cons? ->Hi! So I bought MagCubic HY300 recently but I returned it. Here's my personal review - It's 720p resolution, which means all apps will run at 720p or HD Quality, like Disney+, Netflix, etc. The only exception here I noticed is Youtube, which that can run up to 4k. - I dislike the colors its producing, it has so much blue in its RGB aspect of colors. Too cold color temp for my taste and it's difficult to adjust, heck even adjusting the RGB is non existent. There's only Hue and Saturation available for quality adjustment. - I have only encountered this on Disney+, but whenever you try to play anything in it, it will not load and the audio will stop working even when switching to another app, your only option is to clear cache or reboot the unit - There is 0.5s-1s delay when I tried playing with Xbox Controller + It is a decent unit if you are not really picky and just want to watch conveniently + Audio is decent too if you are in a small room, it lacks bass though but it's there + Wifi, Bluetooth, HDMI and USB (keyboard) all are working flawlessly + Actually easy to use and portable Adjusting the four points trapezoid to adjust to you viewing preference is a challenge, but it will do Adjusting the focus is on the top of the HY300 and its like a scroll mousewheel Check Catymandoo's suggestion - The Hook Up Round off for projectors 2024. Hit me a pm if you'd like to see some samples.
r/projectors • Budget Friendly Mini Projector in PH ->I did this rig some time ago and couldn't bear the projector's delay. It might be my HY300's problem but at the time I was playing DMC4 and it was nasty. Ended up exchanging the same projector for some games from some dude who sold his PS3.
r/PS3 • PS3 X Mini Projector! ->I have owned 4 models of Magcubic & one of Salange. Hy300 mini, HY300, HT600 (android version) & HY450. I will say that HT600 had best clarity, sharpness & contrast but it had to be kept far, HY450 is definitely brightest, loudest both in terms of speakers as well as fan, contrast is second best but looks cheap in comparison to HT600. Also HY450 gets 2gb RAM/32GB storage whereas others get 1gb RAM & 8 or 16gb storage
r/projectors • Any Magcubic HY450 experiences here? ->Get one of those hy300 go to the tic tok shop there cheaper there than Amazon
r/budgetprojectors • Budget projector travel friendly ->"I just loved the HY300 PRO and HY320, Gys! Both are Chinese, and there's no brand, lol. You can find good prices on Shopee for around $40–$50. They’re not disposable—I’ve had mine for two years. The best part is that you can buy five of them, and it’ll still be a good deal, tho!"
r/projectors • Looking for a mini projector - not too expensive but not silly disposable junk ->Hi! I have a HY300 and I'm quite happy with it for seeing animation and random YouTube videos but for films is really lacking so I wanted to make an upgrade I can't afford a 500$ projector but I see these two projectors which are 1080p native (vs the 720p of the hy300) and have better specs overall. I saw that the Happrun is very very popular and have great reviews on YouTube but the Yaber has better specs like double the lumens. What would you choose if you were in my position? Are these projectors a noticeable upgrade from the HY300?
r/budgetprojectors • Need help choosing a new Projector ->Hey everyone, Looking for a projector to use on the ceiling, mainly for watching stuff from bed at night. I’ve been doing this for a while and really enjoy it, so I’m ready to upgrade. About a year ago I bought a MAGSHITCUBIC HY300 on Aliexpress for 20€, super cheap, just to try the setup. It actually worked fine for a while, but now the image has developed some slightly visible brownish spots, probably due to heat or dust buildup. Now that I know I like this kind of setup, I want something better. Ideally: -Good brightness -Better contrast & resolution -Quiet fan -Decent durability Budget is flexible, just looking for something clearly better than this junky starter model. Any tips or recommendations are super welcome, thanks! 🙌 Also, I’m curious, has anyone else tried projecting onto the ceiling from bed at night? Do you think it’s a decent setup, or does it potentially cause issues for the projector over time (heat, orientation, etc.)?
r/projectors • Time to upgrade my ceiling projector – need suggestions! ->I’ve always had it in a dark room with curtains. So it looks nice anytime of day lol. Not bad for $70 on Amazon. I’ll let you know the brand when I get back home if you’re interested. I forget what it is.
r/PS3 • PS3 X Mini Projector! ->It is indeed! I just got home to look at it. Also some other guy in the comments had one as well! It’s probably not great. But I’m not a big stickler for how cheap it was. I think it’s 720p resolution. Sorry I wish I knew more about it. It works for me!
r/PS3 • PS3 X Mini Projector! ->DMC4 is next up! Yeah it’s not the best projector. But for the price, I’m fine with it. I think I paid $70 for it. I haven’t noticed any substantial delays during NGS2.
r/PS3 • PS3 X Mini Projector! ->They have a new HY300 PRO that claims to be 1080p for $59.99 USD. There’s many options between $40 and $60.
r/PS3 • PS3 X Mini Projector! ->It's one of the shittiest projectors. Low lumen, poor contrast, bad color recreation, high failure rate... they prey on uninformed people believing their bullshit specs or scam like listings on Amazon.
r/projectors • good projectors with apps? ->I just returned one. It’s okay for the price but that fan is way too loud for me
r/projectors • PSA for anyone thinking of buying a $100 Chinese projector off Amazon… ->It was called the Magcubic Mini and yes I’m very happy with it, still. Use it all the time!
r/projectors • What’s the best of these crappy -$200 Amazon special projectors for our bedroom? ->I got something called a Magicubic Mini and it’s been great so far. I finally finished watching the Alien TV series on it this week. Granted the speaker in it isn’t great but I use headphones 80% of the time. It’s also not hugely bright unless you’re in a dark room, but again I am 90% of the time. It’s not going to replace my Epson downstairs in my home theatre but for watching shows in bed it’s amazing.
r/projectors • What’s the best of these crappy -$200 Amazon special projectors for our bedroom? ->Magcubic Mini Smart Projector

r/projectors • PSA for anyone thinking of buying a $100 Chinese projector off Amazon… ->Yeah, foot of the bed. Works great! Get one like this that has keystone/corner pinning incase you need to adjust the geometry; the throw distance is pretty short so I could even put it on my bedside table and correct in software if I needed to. This is called the Magcubic Mini
