Not entirely sure but it looks like a hy300pro projector a friend let me borrow. It's on Amazon for $69.99. https://preview.redd.it/av7u6xyase3g1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75ebf720ca8d8503a110f6b1c287ebf479f167ca
I've only used it a few times so far and when I was trying to watch YouTube videos it would lag a lot but it worked fine with Netflix. Definitely not the best projector and I see why my friend wasn't using it.
Hey all! I'm new to using projectors and wanted to share my experience. I started with a Magcubic projector I found on tiktok for $40. Figured it'd be a good place to start. Got the HY300 Pro+ and it was, underwhelming to say the least. I've always wanted a movie like experience at home but this was not it. Stuck on android 11 and 720p picture quality. After researching, I found that I wasn't going to be able to really rely on built in apps with most of the budget projectors out there. So I decided to search for something that had more of the physical features I wanted. Like connecting to wired external speakers, better focus, brighter and I wanted to have adjustable angles as I want to play games on the ceiling in bed sometimes. That's when I found VOPLLS projector on Amazon. Normally runs for around $200 but was able to pick it up on discount for $130. It checked all the boxes, adjustable angles with side inputs, 3.5mm jack out, Bluetooth, analog AV input (red, yellow, white, thinking of hooking up my og Xbox or Sega to it). Wasn't expecting that last one but it's a bonus! I received it today and I have to say, it's a decent little projector. It has bright vivid colors, crisp picture and the remote is actually responsive. So far, I'm pretty happy with this purchase! Even with my fiance lamp on, I was able to see it pretty well on just the wall. I'm sure with the right screen it'd be even better. If anyone has any recommendations for a screen can be hung on the wall let me know! This is just the first day of use so I'll have to update later on how it's been using it. We watched Wednesday with one of our kids and you could barely tell it was playing on a textured wall! Here's some pics, even Norman Reedus and Lou approved.
Hy300 Pro Make sure it’s the pro and buy it for the cheapest price in whatever brand you can find on Temu and Amazon for 40 to 50 bucks. It’s a generic product that different companies slap their name on. I like mine.
Find anything? I got a cheap one on amazon a couple years ago for $99 and the bulb is half burnt making the image distorted/dark. Was probably worth it for how much use it has had but these cheap ones aren't built to have the lamp replaced. Thats a $50/year option, but I'd rather find something quality that'll last a bit longer. The top reviewed prime option isn't half bad for $40 if you are looking cheap [https://a.co/d/0H4AR4Z](https://a.co/d/0H4AR4Z)
I’ve always had it in a dark room with curtains. So it looks nice anytime of day lol. Not bad for $70 on Amazon. I’ll let you know the brand when I get back home if you’re interested. I forget what it is.
It is indeed! I just got home to look at it. Also some other guy in the comments had one as well! It’s probably not great. But I’m not a big stickler for how cheap it was. I think it’s 720p resolution. Sorry I wish I knew more about it. It works for me!
DMC4 is next up! Yeah it’s not the best projector. But for the price, I’m fine with it. I think I paid $70 for it. I haven’t noticed any substantial delays during NGS2.
They have a new HY300 PRO that claims to be 1080p for $59.99 USD. There’s many options between $40 and $60.
got a happrun H1 for about $50 just for when traveling, and its pretty great so far, i do expect it will suddenly die too, but if i get a few vacations out of it, its worth it. Also my work found a large box full of the HY300 Pro units projectors, so i got one of those as well and its half way decent. My main projector is a BenQ X3000i, but those cheap toy ones are not bad if you dont want to track down a used one on FBM or craigslist, and just want to have a bit of fun, and know that they may die at any time.
no, also its the hy300 pro just rebranded and they charge you for shipping, you could get this [https://a.co/d/6Q9sNf4](https://a.co/d/6Q9sNf4) instead with free shipping, but i wouldnt get that either. This happrun h1 would be much better [https://a.co/d/6eoDWpF](https://a.co/d/6eoDWpF) as far as cheap Chinese projectors go. Got the h1 for like $50 bucks just to take on a trip and not worry if it broke, have an hy300 pro as well, we found a box of them outside my work, its just ok, but lower resolution and lower brightness as well as higher latency for gaming than the happrun H1, so id suggest it if you are dead set on a cheap one from amazon. (my main projector is a benq x3000i though) Though best option would be to try to find a used name brand one on marketplace, like epson, benq, viewsonic, etc.
I have HY300 Pro which is the cheapest 720p projector, and along with high HDMI latency (~200ms) and slow decoding speed (+~40ms) it is unplayable. I have reduced decoding time to 28ms average by boosting target fps to 60 and reduced latency via Moonlight - Sunshine screen projection from windows to ~7ms, getting in total with encoding < 50ms, which is great for slow paced games. Hence, 720p is the bottleneck now and i have no options to fix it, but i guess 2k projector with lower lag time would make great experience.
I recently bought a Magcubic HY300 Pro+ and have to say it’s been a pretty good deal. It has it’s obvious limitations, but it was just 40€
