Listen I bought a magcubic hy350 for £100. You would think the smart features are good but no the focus wouldn't be the best as the bottom would be out of focus while the middle would be. Also, the colours were decent but not good, the Ansi lumens were also half of what they promised. I tried opening it and mixing some lenses around to fix the blurry issue where light would leak. I gave up and I found out it's way better to go find a used projector on Facebook, after doing my research I found a Viewsonic pjd7720hd for £200 and bargained it down to £100. Also, the HY350 is terrible for gaming don't even think about it, it has over 100ms delay. Doing side-by-side comparisons the ViewSonic was focused in all areas of the screen, brighter, had some better colours and had a game mode that allowed for a 15ms gaming experience. Please don't buy those Chinese projectors and buy a used one on Facebook, just ask for how much lamp time is used and when you test the projector look for 'stuck' and 'dead pixels".
r/projectors • Has anyone bought a Chinese projector before and willing to share their tips? ->I don't have the 320 to compare, but from what I saw on YT it is brighter, [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGUWuoW\_x-Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGUWuoW_x-Q) It's not "a lot" given that the 350 is only 580ANsi, but is still shows on video (and based on the results of my own photos I can only imagine it beeing better in real life)
r/budgetprojectors • I bought a Magcubic HY350 "V2" AMA :) ->Fair enough ! but to be fair it is also better than the 320 :) I bought it to replace a Philips Garbo Matchline, and the lamp alone cost more than the 350. (And while I will still keep it, and maybe change the lamp one day because it has RGB, it also doesn't have HDMI...) I was tempted to buy second hand, but I didn't know any reputable seller that wouldn't sell me something completely worn off, or where the lamp counter would have been reset / lamp changed for a crappy one. (Just discovered this sub, so I didn't do a good second hand research) #
r/budgetprojectors • I bought a Magcubic HY350 "V2" AMA :) ->It's 580 indeed :D quite low compared to a "brand name", and I can't find any deal similar in Europe
r/budgetprojectors • I bought a Magcubic HY350 "V2" AMA :) ->One of the big issue from the HY300 and HY320 (the tubular ones that were popular on TikTok) are the OEM variants with various qualities ... Some don't even have android and are sold as HY320 (maybe with a "lite" written somewhere when the seller is half honest) and I haven't see this issue so far on HY350 variants (maybe because they are more expensive from start) I hope she will like it :)
