Optoma - GT2000HDR

Optoma GT2000HDR. It's cheapish if it breaks. Very bright. Great graphics and has a true 4 point corner correction in case you find the projector setup needs to be offset - i didn't think I'd need this feature but it's been the best one ever. My newer optoma 35STX doesn't even do this and must be centered perfectly. Also the GT2000 has a USB power out port that works even when the projector is not on - therefore helping keep things charged for me.

I'm really happy with my Optoma Gt2000HDR.

I am currently using it (Optoma GT2000HDR) in my new setup. I'm using the Sig10 enclosure so screen is 10.1x7.7, ruffly 151" diagonal. I'm about 7 feet away and getting a nice picture at my 1440x1080 4:3 res. I think its pretty good for my lighting conditions and looks great. Its not even close to perfectly dark. The 4 corner fit is really solid, provides great adjust-ability. I got it for same price in sale last weekend from B&H. I'm pretty happy so far. I really wanted a TK710sti or AH700 but I can't justify the cost right now as I'm already 11k into this thing as is with a ProTee VX launch monitor so I think I made the right choice so far. I'll go 4k later but i'm perfectly happy right now.

Yeah, buy everything off ebay man. Even the projector. Just get a laser short throw. Projector bulbs are very costly. Laser=never replace a bulb. 4k is super expensive. I went with optima. High quality and inexpensive relatively. It looks very good. I guess some things to look for are if it supports HDR 10. The light in your room going to make the picture. Ive also found that hanging photograph cloths behind the screen and net greatly enhanced the picture quality. And they were cheap on amazon.

Day or night? Assume night, the optoma laser series are very bright and not crazy price. I use one indoors, but room is pretty light during the day and image still good

I have a 1080p Optoma projector in my HT. It is about 10 years old, so maybe due for an upgrade. For now, It gets the job done when it’s dark. But the image washes out quickly if a light is turned on and you can barely see anything. That’s why this caught my attention. With multiple strings of light bulb hanging, I could still see the display without any difficulty. I agree, this is not great but compared to the one I have at home currently the difference is night and day. What projector do you recommend from JVC?

With Blackfriday looming im trying to make a similar decision. Again like you i have a dedicated theatre room with full control over light. I currently have an old 1080p Optama projector with a fixed 100" screen. I need to look at replace the projector but with mini-led 100" tvs dropping drastically im not sure which route to take. main use is movies as I have a sepwrat3 family room with an LG c3 65".
