Welp....I own the optoma GT2100HDR which is a laser 4k and I own the UHD35STX. I've owned multiple laser projectors actually for different homes and upgrading the golf sim etc. I put the laser in my golf simulator because the colors are vivid but every single one in these price ranges have so many issues with pixelation that I gave up and decided to give a crack at the lamped 35STX. Its been such a huge difference that I'm not sure everything I read about laser projectors being better is even true. If you want pics I can show ya. Got a 135" home theater on an acoustically transparent screen in the living room. My oldest son won't leave it alone because even he notices the difference in how smooth the picture is on his Xbox games.

Day or night? Assume night, the optoma laser series are very bright and not crazy price. I use one indoors, but room is pretty light during the day and image still good

With Blackfriday looming im trying to make a similar decision. Again like you i have a dedicated theatre room with full control over light. I currently have an old 1080p Optama projector with a fixed 100" screen. I need to look at replace the projector but with mini-led 100" tvs dropping drastically im not sure which route to take. main use is movies as I have a sepwrat3 family room with an LG c3 65".
