I’d definitely recommend [this](https://www.amazon.com/Sony-BRAVIA-Projector-Theater-VPL-XW5100ES/dp/B0F8WV3HMH?crid=13D69FVLT9P0P&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Xp3gPnwveB6vqUSrLdpzUsUeLVGoArm1n10rv3Aa1zj6Vj8P4CCcr7VbHpBXxKoHPFNdzQ7HtIcNc_CmANK1p9JXBfdUPwFjTHlO_yMxdH-HJd6z1j0vNc7IsurRNe9BumQI0muWcmYpYB699hxsnO8PLhIZsz863NA5dpHGPHI6i04R8ekuFF6TuSHtUxrjSY7-rKZCpQcPrScXyfeIwTQxLJ4CbZjI9j22SZEMacA.LFARVMzpe_9LF85_JF1NZpmGXFjbkCNVhXLtCXyLvDI&dib_tag=se&keywords=Sony%2BVPL-XW7000ES&qid=1750705052&sprefix=sony%2Bvpl-xw7000es%2B%2Caps%2C377&sr=8-2&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=grok43-20&linkId=c7cc04bd3374b258106140fa9a129c32&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tlI’ve) from sony, been using it in a similar home theater setup with a throw distance just under 20 feet and a 120" screen, and it’s been excellent. The image is sharp, motion is smooth, and the laser light source means zero hassle with bulbs. HDR performance is solid, especially in a dark room, and the colors really pop thanks to the native 4K SXRD panel. It’s quiet, easy to install, and has held up great over extended use. If you're looking for a clean, cinematic experience without jumping all the way to the flagship models, this is a smart choice.
r/projectors • Home Theater Newbie ($15k-$20k Budget) Projector Recommendations ->This looks like a great system from Starpower. They are a competitor of mine, but the pricing here is fair and everything is of high quality. If you want to stay closer to $15K drop down to the XW5000, drop the Revel speakers to a more cost effective speaker and maybe drop the universal remote. The extended warranty is expensive, but is not out of line for the price of the system. However, I've seen the XW5100 and the performance jump is HUGE. I would stick with this if possible.
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->Are you sure that they aren't raising the prices on them? The street price for the xw5100es is €5000 incl VAT, shipping and 2 years warranty in Germany, maybe the 880 in front of the model number is something special but I couldn't find a model with this number in front of it.
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->Edith: removed wrong model number and link Regarding the projector, look at the tests at https://www.projectorcentral.com/ this is the to go page for this Last point, if you go the route with a projector with all its trade-offs in comparison to a TV I would get a screen as big as possible, in my opinion it is not worth it of you stay below 150"
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->Oh, you are right. It's late over here... The 5100 price is around €7k incl. Vat They have to make profit on the deal too so it is much more reasonable https://www.visionsandmore.eu/shop/heimkino-beamer/sony-vpl-xw5100es/
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->He told you this because he's a Sony dealer. That receiver "ES" designation plus this insane comment gave it away. Anyone who says an Epson PJ is washed out is full of it. He's also selling you a Ubiquiti Flex Mini switch, which unless you're already in a Unifi ecosystem makes zero sense. The most egregious item is the control system, which is ridiculous to control one Apple TV. From his quote: The projector: [https://electronics.sony.com/tv-video/projectors/all-projectors/p/vplxw5100es?srsltid=AfmBOoqld2tBUXkPjvVWEv4BPJkYvn7Du2ea7cct5Ff-OG-Yuzxma5-HGpY&gQT=1](https://electronics.sony.com/tv-video/projectors/all-projectors/p/vplxw5100es?srsltid=AfmBOoqld2tBUXkPjvVWEv4BPJkYvn7Du2ea7cct5Ff-OG-Yuzxma5-HGpY&gQT=1) The receiver: [https://electronics.sony.com/audio/audio-components/es-av-receivers/p/straz1000es](https://electronics.sony.com/audio/audio-components/es-av-receivers/p/straz1000es) Speakers: [https://www.revelspeakers.com/products/types/in-wall/W553L-.html](https://www.revelspeakers.com/products/types/in-wall/W553L-.html) [https://www.revelspeakers.com/products/types/in-wall/W383-.html?dwvar\_W383-\_color=White-USA-Current&cgid=in-wall](https://www.revelspeakers.com/products/types/in-wall/W383-.html?dwvar_W383-_color=White-USA-Current&cgid=in-wall) Subwoofer: [https://www.svsound.com/products/sb-2000-pro](https://www.svsound.com/products/sb-2000-pro) The switch: [https://store.ui.com/us/en/category/switching-utility/products/usw-flex-2-5g-5](https://store.ui.com/us/en/category/switching-utility/products/usw-flex-2-5g-5) Control system: [https://www.urc-automation.com/total-control/](https://www.urc-automation.com/total-control/) The screen is a 2.35:1 fixed frame (probably Stewart’s acoustic line). Just hire an electrician or a home improvement company to do your wiring, screen, speaker, and pj mount and buy the rest yourself. You can do all this under $10k and have budget leftover for nice HT furniture.
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->The new image processing of the 5100 is worth the wait. I haven’t seen it next to the xw6000 but next to the xw5000 there was no comparison; the 5100 blew it away by far.
r/projectors • Sony VPL-XW6000ES VS New VPL-XW5100ES ->It looks like you’re buying a bunch of Sony and B&W stuff. If it were me, I’d make the following changes: I’d bet that 133” screen is for a 2.35:1 display. You don’t need this unless you’re a hardened cinephile. Go with a 120” if you think you can live with that. This isn’t the monster expense in your system. That projector is a bit lofty for your budget. You can get some excellent options that are about half of this. The VPL-XW5000es is solid too. Based on the “TC” I see in the quote, I’m sure they pushing you towards a URC. While a good quality of life solution, you’re paying about $1500 for this. Programming can’t be done without a dealer license, so even slight changes will run you about $200 in the future. HDMI control between the projector and receiver will be pretty effective as well, so the standard remote will do much more than you think. Lastly, ditch the warranty. It’s pure margin for the retailer and probably overlaps with the manufacturers warranty anyway.
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->I think you have three main choices in this price range. That's the Epson LS12000 or better, the JVC models, and the Sony models. The X5000 is a solid performer all around, but for raw image quality, the JVC is likely to be the best that you can get. The obvious issue, you've already pointed out is that lag time isn't the best on the JVC. I'd probably take the Sony over the Epson, but both look good and have very good contrast. Since I don't do any competitive gaming on my projector, I would get the JVC. But, that's me. The Sony certainly isn't a bad product.
r/projectors • Best Projector for Movies/Gaming/Sports $5k - $10k range. ->I think the AVR and Projector screen are a little high depending on what they have picked out. Is it going to be a fixed screen or a drop down? Black ash subwoofer seems like its an SVS, so they are likely matching the in ceilings to match that quality. If you want it done for less, buy your own equipment, and have them install it or find another company that will. Sony makes a great 4k laser for about 5k so that will cut the cost dramatically
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->Epson will be brightest and average contrast and blacks. Sony will be less bright but better contrast. JVC is lowest brightness but incredible blacks and contrast. Pick what you prefer.
