"In any case the Valerion with the black levels and tone mapping comes out ahead. ... Valerians secret sauce is the software which to this point has not been matched. ... The software which is the real secret sauce is done by Valerian ie: Tonemapping and EBL. You do know that right? That is the difference and it's big."

"My ps5 pro,pc,4k and br player look amazing. ... Dv and HDR seem as good as my tv (tcl 625 miniled which had a good implementation of it). No issue either with streaming app on google tv."

"I m impressed by the color mapping, brightness ,contrast and sharpness, its super sharp even if its currently keystoned to hell while i m waiting for some brackets."

"I m impressed by the pcture quality of it versus the price i paid for. ... For the price its a no brainer"

"For long throw the Valerion projectors are hard to look past at this price point, they're embarrassing more established brands right now."

"They are excellent, there is no real competition in terms of quality/price ratio except maybe the Nebula X1."

"The internal speakers are surprisingly good. ... It worked for sure, and was very comfortable for watching content ... I wouldn’t feel the need to rush into buying an audio solution right away after getting your projector if you go with a Valerion."

"The LS12000 has over 2x the native contrast of the Valerion. ... The native is not meaningless, that's silly. Native CR is the foundation of the entire image capability. Dynamic CR doesn’t always work or help and it can also cause artifacts and issues like clipping and brightness jumps. Some scenes it improves greatly, some only a small amount, and some not at all. It all depends on the composition of the particular scene. Native still always limits simultaneous on screen contrast for an given image. ... There are scenes that look better on the LS12000 due to the noticeably higher native CR."

"LS12000 has 5000:1 native contrast (25k:1 dynamic) vs the Valerion 2000:1 native (10k:1 dynamic)."

"Dynamic CR doesn’t always work or help and it can also cause artifacts and issues like clipping and brightness jumps. ... I also hate dynamic CR systems as I hate the clipping they cause and can see them changing and adjusting and that also distracts me."

"Any of these not have RBE? I have the Valerion and the RBE is very pronounced. ... I seem to be very sensitive to RBE so for me it's bad, like unwatchable bad on some media."

"they’re subject to ... RBE. ... RGB laser light tends to be better, but still shows up in very dark scenes with super bright highlights, during fast motion."

"It also has no rainbow effect while the Valerion has quite a bit. ... RBE is not really able to be mitigated. Some modes lessen the strength of the effect, but not eliminate it. I have seen one of these and the RBE is still quite high even in the mode that has it the lowest. ... I’m a perfect example. I see RBE always on any 1-chip and it bothers me to no end."

I tried the Valerion Plus 2 and found it too dim. I then tried the Hisense C2 Ultra and found it just right for my 120 inch screen.

Definitely get a projector for 100 inch. That Hisense is a piece of crap with a ridiculously high power consumption. Also it’s not understandable why someone would recommend a TV with direct lighting when someone asked about a projector with indirect lighting. It’s always less eye fatigue. I’d recommend a discounted Valerion Pro 1 or plus 2 and set them up for gaming as described by The Hook Up on YouTube. At 3 meters you are perfectly fine going 110 or 120 without moving your head. In the end it doesn’t matter what screen size you’ll prefer. If you’d like to have a projector, get a projector.

I have the Visionmaster plus 2. Not familiar with the others in person but that my Valerion has been absolutely superb - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I have seen other similar priced projectors and none were as bright or vibrant as the one I bought

Because obviously is a shitty lamp projector. For movies theres nothing better than a triple lcd laser projector (like JVC NZ8) or a pure rgb triple laser projector (like hisense, valerion)

Valerion Plus is decent, or a used LG CineBeam. The problem is partly that bulb 💡 projectors are essentially at the end of the road. Laser projectors have a longer life and cheaper maintenance but cost more upfront. Cheap projectors use LCDs which lower brightness. To make a cheap projector fancier they have to keep adding gimmicks until the price bracket includes laser. Also keep in mind inflation means your $1k from 10 years ago would be ~$1400 now

r/projectorsHi there I have around 2000$. Can you guys help me pick one

The Plus2 and Plus are within budget and honestly still worth considering if the 1.2:1 throw works for their set-up. All the software perks of the Pro2, just no optical zoom and not quite as bright. A lot of people run the Pro2 at laser level <6 as well because it's just too bright for their space which is good for longevity but bad for colour shifting while using dynamic laser dimming, actually Valerion disabled dynamic laser dimming when the user is using less than laser level 6.

r/projectorsHelp choosing between Valerion or Epson
about 1 month ago

Funny you say that because Epson "4k PRO-UHD" is NOT 4k UHD. They trademarked the term so they could scam people into thinking it's 4k when it's actually only half the pixels. Should be illegal IMO. The Valerion is way better than any comparable Epson garbage you can get, but the Valerion is probably also overpriced for what it is, but it wouldn't disappoint you.

r/projectorsValerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one?

I have the Plus2 and the Pro2. Plus2 is plenty bright and performs exactly as the Pro2 with slightly lower brightness. Pro2 is just too bright anyway. The only advantage that the Pro2 has is the optical zoom, which I feel like is a must if you have any kind of a dedicated theater space with a screen.

I tested the Horizon 20 and Valerion Plus (not Plus2). The added brightness on the Horizon does wonders for contrast in well lit scenes. Dark scenes tended to have deeper blacks on the Valerion. Both were very impressive with resolution and clarity but imo the Horizon is a noticeable step above.
