"We use ours for heavy gaming and as a main theater projector for movies etc. Won’t ever go back to a TV."
"true 4K @ 120hz gaming (over even 1080p @ 240hz) are game changers to me"
"All 3 have great picture, low input lag, handle 4K well, etc. I wound up with 3 Valerion Pro 2s, as I really am impressed with them across the above stats, aesthetics, and software"

"Picture quality is outstanding in my completely light controlled room."
"the contrast ration on this makes it look like a giant tv"
"Other posters and reviewers call it a light cannon and that is not an exaggeration. ... We use the Pro 2 with a 120” remote drop down screen in a room with a decent amount of ambient light (remote blackout shades are in future plans) and it still looks great in the daytime."

"Google TV convenience...are game changers to me ... The inclusion of Google TV out of the box also allowed me to ditch my RokuHD and minimized my inputs as well, so that 95% of my usage is now directly connected to the projector instead of routing through the AVR. I get all of my streaming services, access to my Plex account and files and my X-box Series X without any problems."
"Google TV OS (which I personally love) ... I just prefer the Google OS"
"The Valerions using Google TV was a big plus for me, it’s well maintained and it works."

"In any case the Valerion with the black levels and tone mapping comes out ahead. ... Valerians secret sauce is the software which to this point has not been matched. ... The software which is the real secret sauce is done by Valerian ie: Tonemapping and EBL. You do know that right? That is the difference and it's big."
"It has EBL (Enhanced Black Level) Tech that makes dark scenes insanely vibrant without shifting colors blue or green."
"It’s good, the contrast ratio and dark scenes are phenomenal"

"Any of these not have RBE? I have the Valerion and the RBE is very pronounced. ... I seem to be very sensitive to RBE so for me it's bad, like unwatchable bad on some media."
"The LS12000 has over 2x the native contrast of the Valerion. ... The native is not meaningless, that's silly. Native CR is the foundation of the entire image capability. Dynamic CR doesn’t always work or help and it can also cause artifacts and issues like clipping and brightness jumps. Some scenes it improves greatly, some only a small amount, and some not at all. It all depends on the composition of the particular scene. Native still always limits simultaneous on screen contrast for an given image. ... There are scenes that look better on the LS12000 due to the noticeably higher native CR."
"with Valerion EBL changes black levels alot for me, so sometimes you do get very dark but as something bright comes into screen you notice black levels get raised, while Sony stays constant. ... Yes you are correct, you can notice EBL working in action specially when screen have little bright object and rest are blacks, here where black levels get lower than Sony, but Sony you dont notice it much, however if we talk about native then Sony wins even in Black levels."

"Like the Valerion Pro 2 has a strong RBE on par with color wheel lamps."

"But it has absolutely no lens shift adjustment and is a nightmare to ceiling mount and dial in properly compared to a more traditional HT projector. ... You need to have it mounted absolutely dead center to the screen and dropped down. Ideally accurate within fractions of an inch. Since once the mount is installed on the ceiling, there's no way to further adjust things."
"The loss of vertical and horizontal lens shift, lens memory and some optical zoom were all difficult decisions for me ... I built my custom screen to project 110" at 16:9 and to zoom out to 127" at 21:9 aspect ratio, and to achieve this with the Valerion requires a lot more effort than the Epson - which was a simple button press and under 10 second adjustment by the motorized optics of the projector. ... For me, maintaining that ability to optically zoom the image from a 16:9 frame to a wider 21:9 frame for films was essential."
"Setup: autosetup failed to see my screen and manual setup was kind of a pain, no manual zoom or focus wheel, apparently you can use the buttons on the projector. I did not since its on the ceiling. ... the graduations are not fine enough to make it super easy for adjusting zoom and focus."

"I see RBE a lot while using my Valerion Pro 2. ... The amount of RBE seems dependent on content quality. On Most Blu-ray discs I don't see it whereas a lot of torrented content in 2160 is very heavy on the RBE."
"EBL produces typical adverse effects: visible pumping, color drift (particularly in reds) and overall image instability."
This video convinced me to buy the Valerion Pro 2. Espc. coz there’s a bundle deal going on their website ; matte white screen, ceiling mount and pro 2 for $3099. I do hope the screen is of good quality though. They didnt mention a name :/
r/projectors • The Hook Up - Best Lifestyle Projector Reviews are Up! ->I was in a similar hunt to yours till recently. I just bought the Valerion Vision master Pro 2 bundle on Amazon for $2699 (w/mount, 3d glasses, hdmi cable). Picture quality is great and I’m just projecting on a white wall now! Watch the hook up guys YouTube video on it for a detailed review
r/projectors • Projector Recommendation Request - $3000 budget ->I was debating the same thing and ended up with the Valerion Vision Master Pro 2. It’s great. Watch the Hook Up guys review on YouTube. That sold me.
r/projectors • Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 ->I have a 135" woven acoustic from silver ticket for my visionmaster pro2 and love it. Picture still looks great with ambient light.
r/projectors • Planning to buy Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 what screen should I go for to setup in av/media room with some ambient light ->Yeah with any projector a lot of ambient light will reduce the contrast but it doesnt completely wash it out.
r/projectors • Planning to buy Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 what screen should I go for to setup in av/media room with some ambient light ->In my opinion theyre very good. Especially if you have dark walls or curtains you can pull to avoid light reflection. If you really care that much about super deep blacks an oled might be your best bet. With good light control and dark walls projectors are awesome but they arent going to be as dark as an OLED.
r/projectors • Planning to buy Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 what screen should I go for to setup in av/media room with some ambient light ->I would recommend watching some YouTube videos by TheHookup. Generally in the price range you’re looking at it’s hard to beat the Valerion, but if you go that route you need to be aware of screen material because non fresnel ALR screens result in laser speckle. https://youtu.be/F6mFV7XQC3o?si=Ohb3F—GpyDk8jOW
r/projectors • Nexigo Aurora vs Valerion Pro 2 vs Epson 4010 ->I was trying to decide the same thing. Ended up going with the Valerion VisionPro2 as it had great reviews and checked all the boxes. No regrets so far!
r/projectors • What’s the best projector for watching movies at home (for a complete beginner)? ->Definitely would consider throw distance. I recently got the Valerion pro 2. Upgraded from a benqtk700sti and it's really good. Very bright great contrast and its softer on the wallet. You can find deals for it on eBay
r/hometheater • Stealth 5.2.4 Theater Build ->I mean sure but I got an open box C2 ultra for 2400$ CAD open box. And the pro2 is 4300$ I do think the Pro 2 is slightly better (but they are damn close on the whole) but that’s not worth 2000$ for me
r/projectors • Need Help Deciding on a Projector: Hisense C2 Ultra or Other Options? ->If you have them side by side then maybe you’ll see a SLIGHT difference but on their own they will both look incredible. There was a video done of the Valerion Pro 2 vs a 17k JVC projector and mannnn it’s getting close for way cheaper.
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->So the reality starts to become clear. Surprise! surprise! It is no breakthrough or a space disruptor. It is still a very good projector (but so are other similar e.g. Hisense, Leica, Formovie and Nexigo Aurora) and is a good choice for the early bird price but not so for the regular price. The much hyped by influencer feature - EBL is rather a disappointment and better kept off. The native contrast is about 1:1600 and not what Valerion claimed. Multiple serious reviews are out there reporting the same thing. So, in a nutshell, don't trust influencers (be it hookup or projector junkies or whomever), don't fall for the extreme hype and fomo created by such companies (they pay even for a written review on AVS forum) and lastly it's a good projector but not a breakthrough.
r/projectors • Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs JVC NZ8 Side by Side Footage - The Hookup ->I am not an expert but here’s my experience switching. It depends on your projector and the room. We have our projector in the basement and we have no problem with light. The projector, Visionmaster Pro2, is very bright so ambient light is fine. Because it’s a basement, though, we have no direct light from outside to contend with. I think it’s really a matter of how much control you have over the amount of light in the room. If you can filter out a reasonable amount of sunlight during daytime viewing a projector is fine. If you like a bright room, then a TV is better. But also, triple laser projectors now produce a much brighter picture than the old lamp projectors did for the same price.
r/projectors • Any regrets switching from TV to projector ->It doesn’t have to be fully dark. You just don’t want direct sunlight. We sit in our basement with the lights on and watch and the picture is nice and bright. It depends on how bright you want the room to be, but I would not call ours dark.
r/projectors • Any regrets switching from TV to projector ->I have the Valerion Pro2 you’re looking at. There’s no tv on the market that can compare to the 141” 2.4:1 picture with my 9.2.6 Atmos rig. My screen is acoustically transparent, so my 9 speakers at ear level are all identical, which gives a seamless audio sound field. As for wiring chaos, I have three wires going to my projector from the closet where my rack is. The power cable is an extension with the power supply in the closet. The other two are Ethernet and HDMI. All are neatly tucked inside the mount, so it’s very clean.
r/hometheater • tv or projector? ->I have a Pro2. Materials help with laser speckle, but not rainbow. I'm sensitive to rainbow, but my wife isn't. I see it, but am not really bothered too much. In a really high contrast scene (where it's really evident), I try not to dart my eyes across the screen. A positive gain screen might show laser speckle. My screen is a woven AT 0.8 gain. I don't see speckle at all. That said, I love my Pro2, even though the firmware, even with the current update, doesn't seem finished yet. Picture quality is outstanding in my completely light controlled room. You might think of darkening the walls and ceiling of your new room. That'll give you the biggest increase in contrast regardless of the projector you ultimately choose. I've got black fabric walls and ceiling.
r/projectors • Projector suggestions for existing theater room ->Disclaimer: I bought a Valerion VisionMaster Pro2 Check out the Valerions as well.
r/projectors • 2025 4K projector recommendations? ->Ignore those deluded Valerion fans. Tbf if you only consume non subtitle dark content then maybe Valerion ebl will be the better choice for you. Assuming you're not sensitive to rbe, under $3k the best is dangbei s7 ultra max, then it's a tossed up between xgimi horizon 20 max and nebula x1. For ust, nexigo ap mk2 is better than valerion and has no rbe / speckle issue too.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->Imo get a big tv. Long throw like the valerion is out of the question as it needs a dark room. Ust + alr is the only viable option but it still won't beat a tv for pq. Projector is only an option if tv is too expensive or can't physically fit the door.
r/projectors • Projector for a living room advice needed ->Yes but all long throw are like that, you can't beat physics as unlike ust that's nearer to the screen. Also, long throw are affected by ceiling, walls and room reflection, even if you close the blind and turn off the light there's still light from the projector that's bouncing off them and will bleed the screen (the black turns lighter). If you going for 120 then ust + alr is the only route then. Also, for ust you might want to consider factors like rbe, hotspot and speckle. Ust needs tensioned screen unlike long throw which even a wall can be used as screen.
r/projectors • Projector for a living room advice needed ->Long throw alr not as good as ust ones and tri laser like Valerion pro2 has speckles issues that gets exacerbated with alr screen. Imo with ambient light, the best option is ust + alr.
r/projectors • Planning to buy Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 what screen should I go for to setup in av/media room with some ambient light ->Keep in mind, this is an informal comparison; he goes into far greater detail with comparisons and reviews on his main channel. Regardless, the out-of-the-box accuracy is a very good detail to be aware of for a prospective buyer. He matched the settings and made the comparison as fair as possible without calibration. The green tint may be due to the Epson running at 100% laser luminance. Though the valerion was also set to max laser luminance and it has no such issues. This is a real out-of-the-box experience. Both projectors were factory reset and set up using the best recommended settings from AVSForum members. Neither one was calibrated, so any issues you see with the Epson apply to the Valerion as well. The difference is the Valerion still managed to look this good without professional calibration, which is a big deal for the average user, since 99% of people do not professionally calibrate their projectors.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->Intersting review. I'm sure it's a great projector, but the pricing is wack for a unit that's a minimal upgrade on the LS12000. If I weren't so into UST's now I'd rather buy a Valerion Max tbh. And I would, based on that unit alone, dispute that there's nothing comparable in the price range, on paper all the stats of the Visionmaster Max dropkicks the QB1000 into a well, "300" and "this is Sparta!" style. Half the price, four times the contrast (according to them - but the Visionmaster Pro 2 almost lived up to their claims).
r/projectors • Epson QB1000 3LCD 4K Laser Projector Review @ ProjectorScreen.com ->Since I really like UST projectors I'd have said "Nexigo Aurora Pro MK II" - $3 grand + $1 grand for an UST specific ALR screen, but with the ceiling mount and screen already there I guess that's out. Although not necessarily, still; it's still $4 grand and you could just dismount that screen and remove the ceiling mount. For long throw the Valerion projectors are hard to look past at this price point, they're embarrassing more established brands right now. However, I'd still replace the screen with Valerion's long throw Fresnel ALR screen. Also, what is that, a screen for mice? 100 inches in that space? Get a 150 and drop it low. This screen is mounted too high anyway.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->At this point, these are getting lapped by the Chinese DLP units. There's basically no doubt that a Valerion Pro 2 or the Max would crush these Epsons on image quality (and this is coming from an Epson owner). Just something worth keeping in mind. Some others too in the recent releases. But of course, Chinese support.
r/projectors • Epson LS9000 vs 11000 vs 12000 For Dedicated Room ->Valerion Visionmaster Pro 2 visits a 320 inch cinema: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTPAM13Lon0 - so of course it depends on what level of lumens you really want, but I wonder just how much a Valerion Visionmaster Max could do. Certainly it would shit on the likes of an Epson QB1000 which is just a minimally uprated LS12000. The Max claims 3500 lumens, and the 3000 the Pro 2 has looked like that on 300+ inches. Even a JVC only hits 2000 or 2300 lumens. Here's Youthman shining the Pro 2 at a wall at 300: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhVqxINzqxs So yeah, obviously I'm just spitballing here. I don't know what you deem acceptable either. But the Max with an anamorphic lens (which is in the works, I believe - the Max has interchangeable lenses) on a 180 inch 21:9... I can't imagine that would disappoint. The Max also has the Iris to further get black level and contrast, it does something like 25000:1 which a big JVC will obviously beat... but not by as much as one might imagine, I believe. But, good luck figuring out which way to go. But it sounds kind of silly to say, but to me the Valerion Max has kind of rendered most other consumer long throws irrelevant. I have an Epson UST, and nothing Epson has in the sub-$10 grand range makes any sense vs the Max. JVC's D-ILA models, sure, you give up brightness but gain contrast and absolute black level, and lower brightness is an issue if you want to go large.
r/projectors • Need a reccomendation for a 150-200in projector ->You'd probably be better off with a 5050ub even though it's bulb fed. It has considerably better black levels. They're cheaper too (well.. same ballpark). Or, you could look into the Valerion projectors, the Pro 2 model almost certainly gives you a better image in just about every way. Or the Max, better yet. Since you're talking about in-wall speakers, UST projectors are out (can't combine UST ALR screen with perforations) otherwise one of those would have been a choice, at 120 inches; a $2000-ish Nexigo Aurora Pro provides a better image and better dark room viewing than the LS11000 (haven't seen it with my own eyes, have seen a comparo online by The Hook Up). Epson projectors also all have loud fans; I'm an Epson owner myself. I have to run mine on 70% power to shut the fan up otherwise it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
r/projectors • Epson LS11000 vs others ->Yo, with a $5K budget, you're in a really good spot for a solid home theater setup. consider the Valerion Pro 2, it's a beast for the price if you're going for a cinema-like experience at home. you’re not just buying specs you’re buying the full experience. So if you're gonna watch movies regularly or game hard, quality wins every time.
r/projectors • Best projector for home theater? ->Ive got a Pro2 and I only notice RBE if I deliberately dart my eyes around on a very bright screen that has contrasting elements. However its worth noting that Valerion is pushing the RBE reduction firmware update to the Pro2 which works very well on the Max
r/projectors • Nexigo Aurora vs Valerion Pro 2 vs Epson 4010 ->Pro2 hands down. I've owned many, many projectirs. Epson, optoma, jvc, sony, benq... Valarion is the best in that price. Its compares to projectors that are 3 to 4 times that price.
r/projectors • Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 ->Not true "all DLP projectors have it" Seen any IMAX or Dolby movies lately? No RBE there. They use DLP. Rainbow effect is caused by single chip DLP (one chip for all colors) and the use of a Color wheel to split the light into RGB, or in Valarion's case an RGB laser that modulates between the 3 primary colors. The color wheel is the worst, and RGB laser light tends to be better, but still shows up in very dark scenes with super bright highlights, during fast motion. Now not all Epson projectors have no RBE, but what are you looking for if you don't want that is 3 Chip products. The home cinema Epson uses 3LCD panels. JVC projectors use D-Ila panels (again 3, 1 dedicated to each color) All theater projectors and high end home models will use DLP chips but have 3, 1 for each color and do not have any issues with RBE. DLP isn't the problem. That being said, I own an Epson 3800, BenQ tk850, Optima HD27, JVC-Nz700, and the Valiaron Pro2 and MAX (not yet released) I currently have been using the Pro2 for everything and absolutely love it. Yes it's worth it and best in its class.
r/projectors • Valerion projectors. Are they any good? ->I would say yes only for the fact that it's less than half the price. and its far brighter than the JVC. JVC is a great projector, but I really love 3D, and the Pro2 does far better with 3D due to its brightness. 3D requires more light because shutter glasses AND the "split" of doing both eyes from the same projector effectively cuts your light in half. This is why people complain that 3D is dark. In the best scenario you build a 3D projector with two identical projectors so you double you light. This is what IMAX Dual Laser, and Dolby Cinemas do. But the JVC is a beast. It has a much better throw because of it optics, Native 4K vs pixel shift. But I only have the 2200 luman model. vs 3000 for the Valiron and I measured teh Vision Master outputting about 3150 with my own tests. Both have terrific color, but Valarion has built in tone mapping that really is a step above. You just can't beat it for it price. 7k more you get no rainbows, but thats alot of cash., and its pretty minor. (I use a 1.3 gain matte white 150" screen)
r/projectors • Valerion projectors. Are they any good? ->Yes! I actually ordered one two days ago. I saw the same video you linked and thought what do I have to lose? Shipping is estimated in May but they have the Pro2 in stock now. I decided to wait for the Max. For what I'm doing, it sure seems to check all the boxes.
r/hometheater • Best 2025 projector under 12k ->The Pro 2 recently got the RGB reduction setting that was on the Max, so it has been substantially reduced, it's now the lowest RGB of a DLP projector.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->Had a pro 2 for a few months. It’s absolutely fantastic the blacks are very good the picture is excellent, colors are very vibrant and it’s the best 3/d I’ve seen on any home projector. I have a 150 inch white screen 1.2 gain I think. Had an epson 5040 before the pro 2 and the pro 2 is far better in every way. Can’t comment on the other 2 cause I haven’t seen them in person. Good luck.
r/projectors • Nexigo Aurora vs Valerion Pro 2 vs Epson 4010 ->I’m extremely happy with the Valerion Pro 2 and it punches above its weight class for the price. It’s a new company but is an offshoot of AWOL Vision, so it has proper backing. There’s been a lot of hype about it for the last few months and I feel it’s warranted. Here’s a review from Chris Majestic https://youtu.be/tX_-XT609D0?si=RGzgpQqaK9BXHFrc Here’s a review from The Hook Up. https://youtu.be/B4_MhHsZvkU?si=Doe05OK88SwQ0sWS Now your room might be limited in the best placement for this projector because of the optics. Valerion has a new projector called the Max coming out in August that will cost four grand that has improved optics for easier placement. If you can wait that might be worth looking into once the reviews start coming out.
r/hometheater • Bought a house with a home theater with theater seating and screen. Seller is taking all of the audio gear and projector. Never had a theater and don’t know anything about projectors. Any recommendations? ->I'm just going to add that the Valerion Max has the review samples out now and reviews should be coming in soon. If you can wait a few months for the projector then maybe the Max is for you. Otherwise the Pro 2 is awesome. I've had mine for a few months and everything they say is accurate. You can't do better for this price.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->I love my Pro 2. Just watched The Return of the King yesterday and my jaw was on the floor during the trip up the stairs into Minas Morgul. It’s a major plus that the projector itself is beautiful, and built solidly. Not like the plastic projectors that are usual in this price range.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->Yes, when I initially received the Pro 2 the speckle was pretty noticeable. Each update has reduced it, and now after the latest update I can’t see any. It’s pretty awesome that Valerion continues to improve the projector over and over.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->I’d go 150” Valerion Pro 2 laser projector with an acoustically transparent screen. That The immersion, combined with the picture quality is outstanding. The Max is also coming out in a few months and will have even better contrast and placement adjustability.
r/projectors • Purchase new laser projector or put up OLED. Opinions please ->you’re not gonna hear this from probably anyone, but the Nexigo Trivision Ultra is absolutely the best of both worlds. Down to 4 ms response at 240 hz at 1080, 2600 iso lumens, beautiful 4k pixel shifting and it’s easy to set up. If you wanted to really kill it for gaming, Nexigo showed off the Trivision mk2 at CES25. They advertise it will release end of 25 and boast a grand sub 1 millisecond response rate, 4k lumens. Genuinely a fantastic projector, and only 1500 on sale on amazon. Only thing to make sure is that you don’t keystone it, as it will lower the input lag (that’s general knowledge of any projector) except the Valerion Visionmaster or any others that do optical zoom. Which leads me to my next point. If you have the 2500/3000, the Valerion Visionmaster pro 2 is the single best sub 5k dollar projector on the market. It has EBL (Enhanced Black Level) Tech that makes dark scenes insanely vibrant without shifting colors blue or green. 4k 120 hz gaming with 4 ms response.
r/projectors • Ditching my tv for a 120'' projector ->VisionMaster Pro 2 is the only answer. Not even close. C2 has dated features and doesn’t come close in quality
r/projectors • Best 4K bedroom projector no budget ->I have a Pro2 being delivered Tuesday from the official eBay store. I put in an offer of $1900 on a brand new one with full 2 year warranty and it was accepted. Gives me a little wiggle room for a screen change if needed and a new receiver.
r/projectors • Nexigo Aurora vs Valerion Pro 2 vs Epson 4010 ->I received the valerian visionmaster pro2 today and the light bleed was terrible. There's a high pitch buzzing noise that drove me mad . I dont have alr screens just a 100 inch matt white screen. I didn't like the picture quality of the valerian on my screen. The black levels on my jmgo n1s 4k on the same screen was better Adjusting dbl on the valerian did nothing.made no difference. The nebula x1 and hisense c2 ultra worked better on my setup but where too noisy My n1s4k is fantastic and on my screen had better black levels than the valerian but not the x1 . The n1s 4k is the most quietest projector I've owned. My valerian has been boxed back up for return .that buzzing noise drove me mad but the valerian did have a really sharp picture Maybe I would have needed a £3000 screen to make the most of the valerian but on my screen I enjoyed the jmgo n1s 4k more .a lot more. Don't believe the hype on these money grabbing sponsored youtube videos. The jmgo n1s is the real deal .I'm waiting on my delivery of the xgimi Horizon 20 pro next. Fingers crossed 🤞
r/projectors • Just unboxed my first projector ->Absolutely love our Pro2s. They are beasts of light output and have exceptional contrast. Amazing cinema experience and gaming is very nice. Yeah you’re limited to 60hz 4K but it’s rare to get games much over that at 4K and good settings these days anyways. I know the c2 ultra is also good for gaming and has comparable cinema performance, but its software leaves a little to be desired for me.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->The internal speakers are surprisingly good. We used them for a hot minute before placing it in our theater room. It worked for sure, and was very comfortable for watching content, but nowhere comparable to a proper audio setup of course. A good soundbar would likely provide a “better” sound, but then you need to figure out placement and running a cable to it. I wouldn’t feel the need to rush into buying an audio solution right away after getting your projector if you go with a Valerion. If you *did* spend the money on a sound solution, I’d easily invest in a receiver and proper speakers over a soundbar. Look for used deals, lots of people unload old speakers for cheap, and buy a good refurbished denon or marrantz receiver.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->I’d save up and get either a highsense c2 ultra, or a valerian pro 2. The valerian being more expensive but has slightly lower input lag and is GoogleTV based, while the highsense has a custom OS. Both have similar picture quality and solid reviews for gaming. I love my Valerion and may buy a C2 for the bedroom. So really can’t go wrong with either!
r/projectors • Best >1200$ 4k gaming projectors? ->Absolutely love my Valerion Pro 2, which is closer to the 3K range but the lower models are supposed to be equally stunning and all models are currently on sale. (I actually just bought a second). I’d also be looking at the highsense C2 Ultra, again little over 2K but there will be sales.
r/projectors • Projector Recommendations ->The Valerions, highsense C2 Ultra, and nexigo trivision ultra are the three I narrowed my search down to about 4 months ago. All 3 have great picture, low input lag, handle 4K well, etc. I wound up with 3 Valerion Pro 2s, as I really am impressed with them across the above stats, aesthetics, and software, but you’d likely be fine with any of them. We use ours for heavy gaming and as a main theater projector for movies etc. Won’t ever go back to a TV. All laser projectors will need a good screen, I’d recommend something with a little bit of texture, possibly woven to reduce some speckle if you’re sensitive to it.
r/projectors • 4K Gaming Projector Buying Advice ->I think its iffy to be honest. I love my projector, but there are definitely some drawbacks. Ambient light and placement are the real challenges you'll be navigating. Can you darken your room? If not, go TV. What's the space you'll be using it like? Have a dedicated setup or will you need to work around existing furniture? If you use a screen on a tripod, you'll inevitably be dealing with some issues getting the projector square with the screen. If you're fine using a lifestyle projector and throwing it on a blank wall, it's easier but you will sacrifice some clarity and color (with a pro of GREAT movability). If you want a mounted screen (ceiling or wall) then you'll likely need to think through wall or ceiling mounting the projector too. I love the lifestyle projectors as I can easily camp out with movies, take it to a friends for "the big game", or point it at the ceiling and play games from bed while laying on my back. Budget friendly options would be Highsense C2 Ultra, a lower budget Valerion, or a Nexigo Trivision Ultra. Im not an expert on UST options, but I'm sure someone can chime in with a few options. Pros for a TV: It's easy and you wont have to worry about light in the room. Cons: TV is now the focal point in the room. One thing to consider on "movie night", how are you about sound?
r/projectors • Is a projector worth it for casual movie nights? ->Surprised the Valerion Pro 2 is not mentioned on the list
r/projectors • The most recommend home projectors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Wait, what? Increasing the distance from the screen improves contrast? Is that just for the Valerion or for all non-ST/UST projectors?
r/projectors • The most recommend home projectors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Valerion will offer great 4k/60hz gaming experience with good colors and contrast. But if you want to get 4k/120hz then it's either Epson or JVC/Sony and those will be above 4-5k if new and slightly lower if used. I would probably get Valerion unless you 100% need 120hz and have spare cash to burn.
r/projectors • Ditching my tv for a 120'' projector ->Can't go wrong with Valerion visionmaster pro 2, it's similar to Hisense C ultra but with much better contrast. It's also fairly mobile and you get a rotating stend for it just like the Hisense.
r/projectors • Best 4K bedroom projector no budget ->I currently have the VisionMaster Pro 2, but I haven’t played games on it, only Blu-rays and Plex. And I’ve loved it for that. I don’t have context on those other projectors.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->If you want THE best for your dollar... Valerion pro 2. 3000 lumen triple laser.
r/projectors • Is any laser projector good enough to be a laser tv? ->Be careful with the Epson 3800. Lots of people have to return for bad focus uniformity and dust blobs. But I'm sure you'll love it if it's a good unit. For $2500 though I would have bought a refurbished 5050UB or Valerion Pro 2. I went with an 85 inch TV only because of our ambient light situation but for you a PJ is the best move. See how it is but honestly I would return it for the 5050UB or the Valerion.
r/hometheater • I have decided a TV, not projector is the way to go in my home theater. Help me pick one! ->The Valerion or Hisense C2 may be the best option for you. Great native and dynamic contrast with awesome brightness and colors. Also with great gaming input lag.
r/budgetprojectors • 4k projectors for gaming and streaming ->I am using the [VisionMaster Pro2](https://www.reddit.com/user/serqetres/comments/1ktcx65/best_projectors/) for a while now and I love it. It has a 15,000:1 Contrast, 0.9-1.5x Optical Zoom, 2X Multitasking Power, IMAX, and much more. It also has a wide color gamut and brightness for vivid colors without rainbow effects.
r/projectors • Best projector for home theater? ->You do realize that AVS forums is full of people that that have the Pro 2 and are not paid "advertisers". There are multiple people that have both the Pro 2 and the C2. You could have asked them directly for a comparison. In any case the Valerion with the black levels and tone mapping comes out ahead. The C2 and C3 the differences are not that big. A lot of people are noticing this
r/projectors • Valerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one? ->The C2 is fine projector. My point is that your gripe could have been alleviated by asking a forum full of people with the projector which are not "paid advertisers" Valerians secret sauce is the software which to this point has not been matched.
r/projectors • Valerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one? ->Please it's better than both those. It has better tone mapping and the EBL function Hisense has yet to counter with anything as effective clearly not in those two projectors
r/projectors • Valerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one? ->They provide the base. The software which is the real secret sauce is done by Valerian ie: Tonemapping and EBL. You do know that right? That is the difference and it's big.
r/projectors • Valerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one? ->Furthermore, you realize that the same OLED panels are used by different manufactures. It DOES not mean that then all the OLED's are the same. The difference again is the software. By the way Valerion is a subsidiary of Awol not Hisense
r/projectors • Valerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one? ->Just think how close the Valerian is and that's not even the flagship version. In addition, just wait until the next iteration comes and that Gap is even closer, but what's not is the price that's a wide as Gap as you can get
r/projectors • Home Theater is finally completed + short comparsion (Valerion Pro 2 VS Sony XW7000ES vs JMGO N3 Ultra Max) ->Much better than the 3800. For the 5050 you would have to step up there higher end models of Valerian like the Pro 2 or the Xgimi Max. Although the Max still has the dynamic dimming problem so for me I would not purchase it until an update has occurred and user feedback is available regarding the update
r/projectors • Best projector under 1,500$ - The Hook Up comparison ->This fits most of the criteria. I have one by the way. The tone mapping and overall PQ punches well above its weight. Never mind it only does 1080 240hz limited by the DMD chip https://a.co/d/3qE6Xer
r/projectors • Recommended Projector for 3 Criteria: 180" Diagonal, 120hz gaming, 3D capable ->Not OP but I've had a pro2 since Jan/February or so. Honestly I was originally kind of underwhelmed but I am a huge cynic/critic, and that could have been due to the initial setup going poorly/unsmooth. see below. Pro's: Super bright but I suppose it is relative. ~3k Lumens 30% higher than my sony hw65es. Really well made: Build quality and packaging are actually quite good. I got bothered by people clamouring on about how premium it all felt. But it turns out they were right. Would definitely trust using this as a portable projector or moving it around a lot even without the case. Colour accuracy: Looks good to me colours really pop but I am not a colour purist and my profile for the picture probably over saturates a good deal and is not close to intended but I like it. Response time and refresh rate: great for gaming but I have not messed around with it greatly for video games yet. Though that was a large reason I got the max(pro 2 is a loaner til it is delivered). Sharpness: text is very clear and sharp compared to my sony Negatives: **NOTE: Still on originally shipped firmware and I heavily need to update it. They have apparently been working on several of my listed issues** Fan noise: Valerion claims super quiet operation but frankly it is super inconsistent in level. When it does spin down and idles it is pretty much unhearable but I would guess that's maybe 10 percent of the time. I have no clue why they went with coolermaster fans instead of something like a noctua. RBE/Chromatic abberation: RBE isn't really noticeable or headache inducing for me but I really notice it behaving odd for white text. Or for going quickly through system menus since its a blue background with white text and white text bubble. And it just looks horrific and flashy if scrolling quickly. I get chromatic fringing on the edges of my screen but I think that is largely due to my glasses and is eventually unnoticeable unless I am looking for it. Remote: the remote is highly regarded but it feels pretty cheap to me in comparison to the apple tv one. The home button for me works very inconsistently maybe 60 to 70 percent of the time though I've only used it for 30 min total? As I have an apple tv hooked up and bound the power button to the mute key on the apple tv remote. Not a fan of the selection "D-pad" or the placement of the volume buttons on it either. Setup: autosetup failed to see my screen and manual setup was kind of a pain, no manual zoom or focus wheel, apparently you can use the buttons on the projector. I did not since its on the ceiling. the graduations are not fine enough to make it super easy for adjusting zoom and focus. A pro though is you can shake it if the picture is flipped since there is a gyroscope(i assume) inside that will auto orientate the picture which was nice. Overall: I think its a good projector, especially at its kickstarter prices but I do not know if I can or cannot say it feels like a 3k projector since I have not had enough experience with others in the same range. BUT it definitely out competes my hw65es. Although not laser or particularly new. For the pro2 when it works it works really well. Once, or if, fan issues get addressed my largest issue with it will be gone. The brightness is a huge boost and daytime viewing quality has increased substantially. EBL works really well for me too offering similar or better blacks to my hw65es, and I would say that with the colour pop really does make movies feel cinema-esq.
r/projectors • Best projector for home theater? ->I don't have a ls1200 but I do have a valerion pro 2 and they both seem to have the same iso lumens at ~2700 or so. And i would say it is definitely usable during the day and pretty good but i keep my room pretty dim. When many windows are open it is definitely noticeable but not unusable. tbf it is at 150in and could be slightly brighter too on a smaller screen.
r/projectors • The most recommend home projectors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Ive got the pro 2 on a 150 inch standard silver ticket screen and am pretty happy with it but it is pretty speckley in all white scenes like sky scenes. Maybe start there? but people are very particular about screens here
r/projectors • The most recommend home projectors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Happy with mine if you have questions OP, though the remote is a little janky. Also try to get a bigger screen if you can OP.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->Yes, I have mine ceiling mounted.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->Good projector, be aware of the screen you get if you think speckle will bother you. Definitely pretty apparent on mine on a silver ticket white screen
r/projectors • Projector Recommendation Request - $3000 budget ->I want to see one, may have a chance soon. I also had an HK2288, I took a risk on a $1499 Valerion Pro 2 and have been very happy with it, it's certainly not JVC level of contrast but it's an overall upgrade from the HK2288. The NZ500 being literally 6x what I paid for the HK2288 makes it a bit of a hard pill to swallow especially with the motion of LCoS, maybe if it was in the $3-4k range.
r/projectors • New JVC NZ500 ->Newer models of the VM Pro2 have the RBE reduction update and EBL improvements. Don’t bother with the Dangbei unless you’re comfortable with some dodgy Alibaba dealer and the Chinese menu which may or may not be updated to English sometime this century. The X1’s measurements are overrated, the actual picture quality is poor despite the specs and the XGIMI has issues with Dolby Vision.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->XGimi Horizon 20 pro seems as good if not better than the Valerion Pro 2 (if EBL is not a deal breaker).
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->EBL produces typical adverse effects: visible pumping, color drift (particularly in reds) and overall image instability. For accurate cinema reproduction, it's best to avoid this mode and concentrate on other available adjustments. If that is not important to you ("accurate cinema reproduction" is just measurements, not how you enjoy what you see), then by all mean go for the Valerion as they are the best in the market. Without EBL, both the XGimi H20 Max and Pro are better out the box in D65 film mode. Ditto for the Nebula X1. All those projectors are really good nonetheless.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->I am not susceptible to RBE (have had Epson LCD projectors though for the last 12 years after previously having DLPs at the 480p and 720p days in the 2006-2012 era). I recently went from an Epson ProCinema 6040UB to a Valerion Vision Master Pro 2 and I am thrilled with the unit, its performance and the customer service I have so far received from Valerion. The loss of vertical and horizontal lens shift, lens memory and some optical zoom were all difficult decisions for me - I built my custom screen to project 110" at 16:9 and to zoom out to 127" at 21:9 aspect ratio, and to achieve this with the Valerion requires a lot more effort than the Epson - which was a simple button press and under 10 second adjustment by the motorized optics of the projector. For me, maintaining that ability to optically zoom the image from a 16:9 frame to a wider 21:9 frame for films was essential. The brightness and "pop" of the colors for the Valerion was far better than my Epson unit and the Enhanced Black Level (EBL) feature on the Valerion really made a huge difference as well. In the end, I have chosen to list my Epson for sale on eBay and have stayed with the Valerion as my projector. I did this with a coffee table side mount that requires keystoning to square the image (11' back from the screen, right next to my primary viewing location). I can't say that the longevity or reliability of the Valerion is there yet because I have owned it for less than a month at this point, but I can say that image quality, input options, Google TV convenience and true 4K @ 120hz gaming (over even 1080p @ 240hz) are game changers to me. I have the optional ceiling mount if I decide to later move the unit up to the ceiling location, but if no one wants to buy my Epson, it may just stay mounted to my ceiling while I use the lower mount on the Valerion! This attached picture is a bad representation overall, but its all I had on the phone... I corrected a few issues (like the noticable light spill outside of the projected image, the incorrect geometry of the image shown here, and the obvious mess on the floor in front of the screen...LOL). I also did not bother with the screen masks I have (behind Pennywise on the left...LOL) that mask the 21:9 screen size for 16:9 viewing if I choose to use them - frequently I don't care about the sides of the image for gaming or TV and most of my film viewing does not use them anyway!) Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would willingly do it again at this point; even though I was dumb enough to buy a bundle which included a custom ceiling mount, 2 pairs of 3D glasses and a 135" fixed frame screen (which turns out to be too large for this space - the image would be 66" high which would take it down to just over 7" from the floor and speaker placement becomes an issue along with the image getting kind of ridiculously large in the space). The inclusion of Google TV out of the box also allowed me to ditch my RokuHD and minimized my inputs as well, so that 95% of my usage is now directly connected to the projector instead of routing through the AVR. I get all of my streaming services, access to my Plex account and files and my X-box Series X without any problems. https://preview.redd.it/5tmjjqscn8kf1.jpeg?width=8160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0992708e46aeb455a318db6ddadf747539d94dbc
r/projectors • Valerion projectors. Are they any good? ->I've had my BenQ HT2150ST 1080P for 7 years, finished up construction of the HT room and decided to upgrade to something compatible with 4k and laser. Tired of worrying about bulb usage and replacment. After watching this YT video I got both the Nexigo Trivision Ultra and Valerion Pro 2 for a side by side comparison. The Valerion is amazing, on a 120" is amazing. Text is sharp and crisp and the contrast ration on this makes it look like a giant tv. Of course if your concerned about budget the Nexigo for half the price is a good value. I'd recommend ordering a few on the top of your list and compare and keep the one that suits you. I decided on the Pro 2, it was worth the extra $. https://youtu.be/ClIboELoz74
r/projectors • Looking for the best 4k projector for $2000-$4000 CAD for home theatre setup ->This. It outperforms the 5050 and the LS12000
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->They're literally not. They offer nothing over the Valerion.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->The native contrast numbers are meaningless when the Valerion's EBL makes the contrast better in actual use. Yes, RBE is something to be aware of, but its impact is subjective and able to be mitigated. I don't have either of these, so I have no skin in the game here. I've linked the head to heads from The Hookup. The Pro 2 is not subjectively a better picture than the LS12000. It's quite clear. LS12000 fanboys couldn't believe it and had him run the shootout again with different settings for the same results.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->No. They Valerion Pro 2 has low-input 4k120, VRR, and a better picture than both. Their lumens are all within 200 of each other. What do you think they do differently?
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->Personally, as a guy who is nearing the finish line on my “theater” I’ll share the following thoughts. I looked hard at the epson, but the valerion pro 2 won out for me for multiple reasons. Though I ordered off Amazon and am considering returning it to wait for the max. Coming from an 83” oled to a 135” has been worth the trade on contrast but the valerion looks fantastic with ebl. I moved up from my old maranta receiver sr5011 to an arcam avr21 that comes with Dirac room correction. Speaker wise, go test a few out and find a sound you like. Then go online and look for a competitive price. I think I spent more time in the speaker hole than anywhere. I ended up up just going full blown Martin Logan everything because I loved their sound and laid $4k brand new for the f200’s with no regrets. This may not be popular, but I paid $20 bucks for the upgraded ChatGPT to help me organize thoughts, reviews, find used/new pricing, build cost comparison spreadsheets. Totally worth it. Best of luck to you on your adventure
r/hometheater • Budget 12-13k - Building Home Theatre ->went from an 83" OLED to 135" screen in a light controlled room with the Valerion Pro 2. Zero regrets. Contrast isn't as good, but the immersion makes up for it IMO.
r/hometheater • Oled to Projector... ->It’s honestly fantastic. I got it for $2200 during prime day sale. I almost waited for the max but unless they were side by side I wasn’t sure it was worth double the cost - which feels weird to say because I’ve been an oled snob forever.
r/hometheater • Oled to Projector... ->I feel like from the YouTube tests I've seen it's better than most long throw projectors. And increasing the distance from the screen improves contrast even more
r/projectors • The most recommend home projectors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Just valerion. There is a video on YouTube that this guy extensively tests the unit
r/projectors • The most recommend home projectors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Just got mine today. Going to test it on 200 inch screen
r/projectors • The most recommend home projectors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Hi all, I finally finished making the Home Theater which I started 6 months ago, it took alot of time because its a new house as well so I took this project slow as the construction progresses and its finally done: Sony XW7000ES Projector Marantz Cinema 30 Anthem 325 Power Amp KEF RLM Series of In wall in a 9.2.4 configuration (Dual KEF KC92 Subs) Valencia Recliners 160 inch white AT screen **Pending:** 2nd row seating + AC automation + MadVR proecessor https://preview.redd.it/32eqdcyux3me1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=acb0c8386984286d74bacc01d19a95ae18f96988 https://preview.redd.it/xujqfy1wx3me1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b709827dde048b355c9465635f7d71e992a348d1 https://preview.redd.it/o7xty9e1y3me1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5af16aae842d3880da780f85d7166ac5f4866312 Also I just wanted to add a comparison I was waiting for this room to finish to do between the 3 subject projectors, I will make it simple using rating method for anyone wondering how Valerion compare against the top in cosumer market or JMGO potential: **Brightness:** 1. Sony XW7000ES: 10/10 2. JMGO N3 Ultra Max: 8/10 3. Valerion Pro 2: 7/10 **Colors:** 1. JMGO N3 Ultra Max: 10/10 2. Sony XW7000ES: 8/10 3. Valerion Pro 2: 8/10 **Contrast and black level:** 1. Valerion Pro 2: 9/10 (Update 1: 7/10) 2. Sony XW7000ES: 8/10 (Update 1: 9/10) 3. JMGO N3 Ultra Max: 6/10 **Sharpness:** 1. Sony XW7000ES: 10/10 2. Valerion Pro 2: 8/10 3. JMGO N3 Ultra Max: 7/10 **Motion:** 1. JMGO N3 Ultra Max: 10/10 2. Valerion Pro 2: 9/10 3. Sony XW7000ES: 9/10 **Laser Specle with Grey Silver Ticket Screen for testing (10 is best and 0 very bad):** 1. Sony XW7000ES: 10/10 2. Valerion Pro 2: 8/10 3. JMGO N3 Ultra Max: 6/10 **Overall (The one takes this room):** Sony XW7000ES easily the choice. I understand how great Valerion is for the price and no questionable its best value here, JMGO on paper seemed really strong but in person apart of amazing colors and motion it had issues. Sony just feels like you are working with near perfection levels, I just wish it had lower black level, for me Valerion felt deeper in blacks but the difference in Brightness is very noticeable to the point it makes the contrast feels superior in the Sony projector. I actually thought Valerion can win this due to Dynamic Tone Mapping and contrast, but its not even close to Sony in terms of overall visual experience. Some credit also goes to JMGO I dont even need a measurement tool to tell me the colors are best here, it just looks so good, it pops while being natural. The motion is best I have seen in any screen so far. **Note:** if some rating felt harsh its not becuase its bad but because the best one is far ahead. **Update 1:** I revisted both once again, Im not sure what or why but Sony now have much better black level than before, maybe I missed up with mode before. I cant figure out who have lower black level but I can say Sony majority of times lower black levels than Valerion, with Valerion EBL changes black levels alot for me, so sometimes you do get very dark but as something bright comes into screen you notice black levels get raised, while Sony stays constant. Overall Contrast Sony easily wins now.
r/projectors • Home Theater is finally completed + short comparsion (Valerion Pro 2 VS Sony XW7000ES vs JMGO N3 Ultra Max) ->What do you mean by "Hisense definitely feels more polished, especially with the official Netflix support."? The Valerion has official Netflix support too. There are issues with the Valerion firmware but there's an update due soon that should fix a lot of them.
r/projectors • Valerion Pro2 vs Hisense L9G ->I just upgraded to it. Love it. Great upgrade from my BenQ 2050
r/hometheater • Best projector around 120 inch diagonal around €3000,- ->I have the Valerion Pro 2 and love it. Other posters and reviewers call it a light cannon and that is not an exaggeration. The built in google tv has been a breeze to use. We use the Pro 2 with a 120” remote drop down screen in a room with a decent amount of ambient light (remote blackout shades are in future plans) and it still looks great in the daytime. You will need a nice screen though, which is true with any decent projector. That will probably run $700+ (I think a saw some options around there, but that’s a bit “entry” level tbh). Our screen was on sale for $1100, but it was worth it. Keeps the room looking great when we aren’t using it. Keeps the picture amazing when we are.
r/projectors • Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 ->I have not noticed RBE issues at all. When deciding on the projector, I read that some viewers had this issue with the Pro 2 and we risked it. I have no regrets with this projector, even with the Max coming out (we bought right before the release, knowing it was coming). To be honest, I am 100% positive that my family would not notice the difference. A lot of projector enthusiasts will say the Max is the way to go, but the Pro 2 is just a killer picture! And it leaves more “room” in the budget for the screen, which I feel like is super-important with non-dedicated theater rooms (maybe for all setups?). I cannot say enough about the image quality! If money were no object for us whatsoever, sure we would pick up the Max. We just had to draw our line somewhere and landed on the Pro 2. You also have to consider sound source. I saw a comment about the sound of the Pro 2 and can personally say that I think it sounds great out of the box. Do you want surround sound? Leave room for that upgrade possibly? We will eventually get a 5.1 set up, but no complaints about the current quality. img
r/projectors • Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 ->It would - but I don’t want to replace it all - there’s nothing wrong with my Sonos Arc, plus, subs and surrounds…. Bought the valerion Vision master pro2 (waiting for the max) - and it’s awesome
r/projectors • Just got my xgimi horizon s max ->It’s good, the contrast ratio and dark scenes are phenomenal, laser spec (I’m very sensitive to it) - is a little higher than xgimi duel light but it’s not a deal breaker - what would you like to know? The hookup did a good review
r/projectors • Just got my xgimi horizon s max ->Valerion Visionmaster pro 2, pretty happy with mine
r/projectors • Looking for good PS5 Projector ->I m impressed by the pcture quality of it versus the price i paid for. EBL is a hit or miss , most of my content works great with it but some show color shifting. Even with it off, the black are pretty good. Im coming from a jvc x30 so older and 1080p, blacks are better than it. However cannot compare to newer jvc unit. I m impressed by the color mapping, brightness ,contrast and sharpness, its super sharp even if its currently keystoned to hell while i m waiting for some brackets. My ps5 pro,pc,4k and br player look amazing. Dv and HDR seem as good as my tv (tcl 625 miniled which had a good implementation of it). No issue either with streaming app on google tv. Had to change my 20' hdmi cable though, sound was cutting and no issue with the new cable rated at 48gbps. Also and the most important its be wife approved, she says it looks like a huge tv due to the color/brightness/sharpness i think, she was initially very doubtful about why i backed this or even wanted to change the projector. For the price its a no brainer however i m pretty sure the ls12000 is bit better in some aspects. https://preview.redd.it/bwgi02npm6je1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b36657be043c802c5026b3827032278bc24ae8b I
r/projectors • 4k 120hz gaming projectors ->You are right about no 4k 120 on a valerion (i have a pro2) even though i love it if i want 120...have to output 1080p. I don't think in the budget of op(referencing c2 ultra as his budget) anything output 4k120. And even with high end model my understanding from a few reviews is that you start missing other features like hdr. I don't think there is currently a satisfactory solution to play 4k120 native for gaming on PJ. Love playing on my pro 2 though works great with my ps5pro,xseriesx and pc
r/projectors • Want to buy projector 4K/120hz/HDR in about 3 months, maybe half a year. ->New chipset will allow it I think however seems you are loosing other things. My understanding is that its not a limitation of dlp technology but the processing of the wheel made by the chipset which is the same for nearly all laser dlp with the 4k created from shift of 1080p . Pretty sure real 4k chipset will evolve soonish to manage full support of 120hz . However gaming on PJ that expensive are a really small subset of owner of an already small market so the incentive is not there much. Market for pj gaming is really more with lifestyle projector. I can see epson supporting it in a shorter time but then you are lcd and other issues with contrast.. For me the 4k 60 is enough and i have been using 1080/120 on some fps which still looks pretty good to me
r/projectors • Want to buy projector 4K/120hz/HDR in about 3 months, maybe half a year. ->Valerion Pro 2 user here. Upgraded from 4k BenQ TK800m and quality difference/improvement is quite amazing. Very fast and responsive also. (Standby to on in a few seconds)
r/projectors • Best projector for home theater? ->My Valerion Pro 2 does. 4K/60 = 35ms (no Instant Game Response or HRRM/DLP Turbo) 1080p/60 = 35ms (no Instant Game Response or HRRM/DLP Turbo) 4K/60 high refresh rate mode/DLP Turbo = 27ms 1080p/60 high refresh rate mode/DLP Turbo = 18ms 4K/120 high refresh rate mode/DLP Turbo = 10ms 1080p/120 high refresh rate mode/DLP Turbo = 10ms 1080p/240 high refresh rate mode/DLP Turbo = 5ms (Results from Projectorcentral testing)
r/projectors • Is there a Laser projector which supports 4K120Hz gaming? ->Using a Valerion Pro 2 and picture equals my monitor. 1080p/240Hz
r/projectors • Ditching my tv for a 120'' projector ->I currently have 3 projectors. Valerian Pro 2 (awesome Most expensive) BenQ TK800m (not bad, mid priced) and a Aurzen boom mini. (Cheap@ $400 AUD) I got what I paid for with each one. I see 5 star reviews for the Aurzen and it's 3 star at best when you see what the other two can do. You don't know what you don't know I guess.
r/projectors • Thoughts on cheaper portable projectors? ->Either the C2 Ultra (what I have and LOVE) or the Valerian Pro2 (I believe has slightly better input lag), you can't go wrong with either. Valerian has a great deal with screen right now on their site.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->Getting an ALR Screen (which are expensive, I recommend buying on Facebook Marketplace) will also make a big difference but even with a basic screen my C2 Ultra is amazing! But still recommend checking out Valerian's Pro2 bcuz of their deal with free screen and 3d glasses.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->So I’ve been living with the Hisense L9G for a good while now probably around a year and a bit. It was my first real dip into the world of ultra-short throw projectors, and honestly? It didn’t disappoint. Bright as hell, Dolby Vision looked super clean, and paired with the ALR screen, it absolutely slapped in daytime. But here’s the thing, I rent. And if you’ve ever tried to move with a 120" ALR screen, you know the pain. That thing’s a beast. Just thinking about taking it down and setting it up again in a new place gives me stress. So that’s what started me looking around for alternatives. I saw some solid reviews pop up projector junkies and the hook up had some nice things to say abt Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2. I though to give it a try. First inpression: no cheap plastic feel or weird design choices. Setup was way easier than the L9G no ALR screen needed. I just fired it up onto a decent wall, mostly watching stuff at night, and I’ve gotta say, it looks damn good. The black levels are better than the L9G for sure, dark scenes really pop. There’s some tech they call enhanced black level at play. It’s not perfect though I’ve noticed a bit of color shift when scenes change, but honestly, nothing major. Now in terms of brightness, the L9G still takes the crown, especially if you're trying to use it during the day. Valerion isn’t quite as punchy, prob around 85-90% of L9G’s output when calibrated but it leans into that more cinematic, movie-theater-at-home vibe. Less bright, more mood. Software-wise, both are fine. Hisense definitely feels more polished, especially with the official Netflix support. Valerion’s got some neat tricks though AI upscaling, MEMC for smooth motion, that kind of stuff. So yeah, after using both, here’s where I’m at: If you want something rock-solid, fully certified, and don’t mind committing to an ALR screen setup, the L9G is a great buy. But if you’re like me renting, need portability, mostly watch at night, and want something a bit more flexible Valerion’s honestly been a nice surprise. It’s not perfect, but for movies, it absolutely holds its own. so anyone else here made the same switch? Or are you sticking with the Hisense and just learning to live with the giant screen life?
r/projectors • Valerion Pro2 vs Hisense L9G ->I’ve been using the visionmaster Pro2 for a while now, when I was picking mine, I wanted something that wouldn’t die on me in a year or turn my movie nights into troubleshooting sessions. in terms of brightness, It holds up great in dim rooms, but like most projectors, it’s not a miracle worker in broad daylight. That said, it’s definitely brighter than a lot of others in this range, so if you’ve got some light control, you’ll be fine. and abt durability; i've been using it for a month and I haven’t had to mess with any repairs. The best part? LED light source. That means no stressing over lamp replacements every few months it’s built to last way longer than traditional lamp-based models. If you’re considering alternatives, Epson and BenQ are solid picks, but keep in mind that many of their models at this price point still use traditional lamps. If easy maintenance is high on your list, I’d definitely recommend going LED or laser over standard lamps. hope that helps.
r/projectors • Best projector under $2000! ->Tried it and decided on the Valerion pro2. Glad I did. It's better than even the x3100i.
r/projectors • Is this 4K projector good? BenQ TK700STi 4K ->I have the Plus2 and the Pro2. Plus2 is plenty bright and performs exactly as the Pro2 with slightly lower brightness. Pro2 is just too bright anyway. The only advantage that the Pro2 has is the optical zoom, which I feel like is a must if you have any kind of a dedicated theater space with a screen.
r/projectors • Valerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one? ->OP They did a side by side comparison of the Epson LS12000 and the Valerion Visionmaster Pro 2 so you can see for yourself https://www.reddit.com/r/projectors/s/z9TOrxH7P2 The Valerion is a lot cleaner and comes in well under budget. They have it on Amazon and with prime day tomorrow it might be on sale. https://amzn.to/4lKdbma but for under 3K it’s a great projector
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->THIS!! See my post just now, it is on prime day sale for $2,399
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->OP!!! Valerion Vision Master Pro 2, on Prime day sale RIGHT NOW $2,399!! Before Prime Day, my Amazon (Midwest US) was saying there were only 14 left in stock. Don’t sleep on this! At the least, buy it, and then go watch some YouTube reviews - especially ones that compare it to other projectors. You can always return it. I was going to get the Valerion Stream Master Plus 2 for $1,999 (may be on sale too, now, but not assuming it would be), but after watching countless YouTube reviews on each, this is the Cadillac. And at $400 more (now on Prime sale) than I was willing to spend on the Stream Master Plus 2??? No brainer! I bought it.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->Any of these not have RBE? I have the Valerion and the RBE is very pronounced. I am sensitive to it and for me it is almost un-watchable.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->Any of these not have RBE? I have the Valerion and the RBE is very pronounced. I am sensitive to it and for me it is almost un-watchable.
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->That gives me hope. I see RBE a lot while using my Valerion Pro 2. My wife and friends don't know what I am talking about and don't see it. I replaced an old Mitsubishi HC7000, a 3 panel LCD projector. The Valerion image is dramatically better I just hope I get used to the RBE eventually. The amount of RBE seems dependent on content quality. On Most Blu-ray discs I don't see it whereas a lot of torrented content in 2160 is very heavy on the RBE.
r/projectors • Valerion projectors. Are they any good? ->Appreciate you listing the cons, so many review especially on Youtube ignore the negatives, so refreshing to read! I am tempted by this projector as currently have the Valerion Pro 2 but the laser speckle is awful as he RBE. What's it like on the Xgimi? Their website says it has laser speckle reduction etc. Also, no-one mentions the boot up time. If this is to replace a TV, it needs to start quick. The Valerion is about 7-10 seconds. The Nexigo Trivision I had previously was almost a minute which is no good. I hope they fix the DBL on Dolby Vision issue.
r/projectors • Early days with the Xgimi Horizon 20 Max ->I just bought the ValerianMasterPro 2 and I’m in love with it. Not using it in a theater style setup up but I do have Valerians PureVision Motorized Matte White Screen as per the bundle it was free. Using it in a controlled light room and it is super bright, colors are great, even the speakers are decent although I got a 7.1.4 sound bar setup through optical.
r/projectors • Is this truly the best projector over $5k? ->What setup are you using for your Max? I just bought the ValerianMasterPro 2 and I’m in love with it.
->Valerion Pro2 is amazing. It's been as much of a step up from my old 4K projector (Optima UHD51A) as that was from a 1080P projector. Amazing game response times, can play things like pinball or FPS games perfectly now on the big screen. As for movies they look 99% as good as they do on my LG OLED in terms of contrast black levels, but I think the colours on the Valerion actually surpass the LG, at least out of the box. This is all on a wall-mounted matte white screen btw, nothing fancy. On top of that it's quick to fire up and I find the interface nice and simple, the automatic setup is great at fitting the pic to your projection surface, barely need to tweak anything after. I can also speak of their customer service as I received a very early, unfortunately faulty unit, and they were brilliant at responding and resolving everything. Overall couldn't be happier with the Valerion and can't really imagine what it could do better.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->It doesn’t seem to depend simply on lamp vs laser. Like the Valerion Pro 2 has a strong RBE on par with color wheel lamps.
r/projectors • Best projector under 1,500$ - The Hook Up comparison ->The LS12000 has over 2x the native contrast of the Valerion. It also has no rainbow effect while the Valerion has quite a bit. That’s 2 big things the LS12000 has over the Valerion off the top of my head.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->You specifically mention the Valerion Pro 2. Yes, it has very good picture quality for the price. Possibly the best picture quality in that price range. But it has absolutely no lens shift adjustment and is a nightmare to ceiling mount and dial in properly compared to a more traditional HT projector. You need to have it mounted absolutely dead center to the screen and dropped down. Ideally accurate within fractions of an inch. Since once the mount is installed on the ceiling, there's no way to further adjust things.
r/hometheater • Best projector around 120 inch diagonal around €3000,- ->Coming from the MKI I just got the MKII with matching 120 Fresnel and am happy . It's a nice upgrade from the previous version and the early bird discount made it a better deal. The Valerian Pro2 looks great also . The only downside size with UST is placement of your center channel . I can't use my matching center because it's to big and I have to use a smaller speaker/ different line from the same manufacturer.
r/projectors • UST Laser/Projector tvs that should be on my radar? ->In my opinion the JVC still wins out, I’ve seen it in person and it is stunning. I don’t think this video fully shows its quality, but the same could be said for the Valerion. That said, it is way too close for a projector costs 8x less, and I don’t see a world where anyone should spend that much more when this Valerion exists. Especially when the Valerion isn’t calibrated and the JVC is.
r/projectors • Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs JVC NZ8 Side by Side Footage - The Hookup ->That’s still a fantastic projector. It won last years lifestyle round up by a landslide. Next year the vision master pro will undoubtedly be dethroned just the same. No sense in getting hung up on having the best, just enjoy what you have.
r/projectors • Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs JVC NZ8 Side by Side Footage - The Hookup ->Based on your comment, it seems you’re referencing the Mondoprojos review. I find that pretty interesting—are you taking his entire review as gospel while dismissing all the others? To be clear, I’m not saying his review isn’t reliable, it’s probably the best review so far. I’m just saying it’s weird to ignore the 50 other reviews that have literally all been absolutely glowing. But to be fair, his review was also completely glowing. He awarded the VisionMaster Pro2 a Double Gold++ at a market price of $3,000 USD. This means everyone who got in on the Kickstarter scored an incredible deal—$2,000 for a projector that later received his highest award at $3,000! [Not to mention it absolutely mops the floor with the ls12000.](https://youtu.be/xyp0DG-uSkw?si=ZkDVf_eQ6Jizr2r-), a projector that was previously seen as the gold standard for nearly twice the cost! Sure seems like market disruption to me! Edit: I’m curious, can you point me to a single review that says the valerion projectors are not a good deal at their current price? I sure can’t find one!
r/projectors • Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs JVC NZ8 Side by Side Footage - The Hookup ->Projector: Valerion Pro 2 ($3,000), scores higher than the $6000 sony recommended in this thread by the hookup on YT in side by side comparisons Screen: silver ticket WAB (great data (gain and sound attenuation) compared to 30 other acoustically transparent screens) Subwoofer: Size by your room volume, there is a spreadsheet that has measurements and recommendations for subs based on room volume (maybe from audioholics website) Speakers: See HT buying guide or audio science review on passive speakers (I like in wall best but there are compromises) Receiver: denon 3800 refurb from accessories for less, can do 7.4.4 with additional amp How to design: Audio advice design tool gives you placement and dimensions. There are pro softwares Matthew Poes uses, if I had a dedicated space I would check the cost of these but it would be too much for most
r/hometheater • 12k budget for home theater, help ->Just picked up a Valerion Visionmaster pro2 and this thing is amazing. Same hardware as the c2, but with Google TV OS (which I personally love). It comes with a robust case. We purchased ours for outdoors, but then to take with us when traveling in the RV as well. I’m sure the C2 is great too, but I just prefer the Google OS. Good luck!
r/projectors • Best 4K bedroom projector no budget ->That is the opposite of what I said. Literally every metric by which the quality of the image can be measured, I can see the Valerion is clearly not in the same league. Is it better than similar offerings from BenQ in Epson? Sure in some instances. But it is not anywhere close to the JVC in picture quality. So again, I'm not sure what you guys are looking at, but I get the feeling it's like when a $10 electronic on Amazon gets a bunch of five-star reviews. It's not necessarily a five-star product in quality or reliability or performance, it's just people are happy with how well it does for a $10 product.
r/projectors • Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs JVC NZ8 Side by Side Footage - The Hookup ->The EBL red shift was introduced with the EBL High/Low update. When I reviewed the Pro2 last year it only had EBL on/off and it only worked at laser power 10. There was no shifting until the High/Low update, and it has always been significantly reduced at laser power 10.
r/projectors • The Hook Up - Best Lifestyle Projector Reviews are Up! ->The Epson definitely does not. HC3800 is super old tech, it's a bulb projector with 1/2 4K resolution (1080p x2 instead of 1080p x4). It's got low color space coverage and underwhelming contrast. TK710 is pretty good but the long throw version doesn't have quite as good of contrast as the short throw (710STi). Others mentioned in this thread (Valerion Pro 2, Nebula X1, Horizon 20 Max) will blow both of those projectors out of the water though.
r/projectors • Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 ->I'd recommend the Horizon 20 series to you. Max if its in budget, Pro if you want to stay under $2K. Gets you vertical and horizontal keystone, very decent sound. For a 92" diagonal screen at 10ft you'll need a 1.5:1 throw ratio which is the max throw of the Horizon 20, but slightly too close for the Valerions.
r/projectors • Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 ->Valerion Pro 2 beats them all and you can get it for around 2300€ currently
r/projectors • Best 4K projector under 3k? ->Paid 2223€ for Valerion Pro 2 last week. Benq X3100i would be an another option you could consider.
r/projectors • Help me choose a 4k projector for up to 2000 eur ->I think you researched this very well. Maybe add BenQ X3100i to the list. I personally ordered Valerion Pro 2 last week because it was on offer and it seems to be the best in the price range. Also, AirPlay will be nice to have.
r/projectors • Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 ->The main advantage of a projector is size. You can get a 135" diagonal from a projector, which no TV that's affordable can possibly deliver. At 100" diagonal, TVs are the way to go most of the time. If your space supports it, just get a decent TV. Models like the Valerion Pro are solid enough and give good viewing, but they will suffer, as all projectors do, in any type of ambient light. I'm working with someone who will end up doing a 135" setup for his theater specific space, but will also have a couple of 100" displays in the rest of his basement for viewing in different areas.
r/projectors • Best sports projector ->The Valerion Pro Master will give you deeper blacks esp in Dolby Vision espwith their Enhanced Black Level switch . Ceiling projection ? Not sure about that however . Also the JMGO N1S Ultimate for searing brights and color volume . Triple Laser and the fastest Keystone and Focus Adjustments available . An eye popping projector pleaser if there was one .
r/projectors • Best 4K bedroom projector no budget ->You could check out the Valerion Pro (not pro 2) which is sometimes on sale on eBay as “used” while on fact it is brand new. Awesome device.
r/projectors • Lifestyle projector suggestions? ->It’s half the price and gets the job done Laser and 4k Now the valerian pro is an amazing machine Specially if you’re into 3D
r/projectors • Projector suggestions for existing theater room ->Try valerion pro best choice ever also for gaming awesome
r/projectors • Hi there I have around 2000$. Can you guys help me pick one ->Be sure to check the throw distance with those projector options, they're all longer throw than the UHD50X. I looked at the LS12000 to replace my UHD50X and it would not have worked because of the throw distance required. I ended up with the Valeron VisionMaster (Pro2 soon to be Max) and it was a huge upgrade from the UHD50X. Otherwise check projector central for reviews, which includes input lag. Random thought about the front speakers, the towers are pretty high, I'm guessing the tweeters are 5 feet high? Maybe they could be turned upside down so the tweeter is closer to ear level when seated. Also there might be crazy reflections off the cabinets on the sides from the L and R, packing that area with acoustic treatment may make it sound a bit better.
r/hometheater • Stealth 5.2.4 Theater Build ->https://preview.redd.it/2vpjw8abhprf1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb66bde4cf2cf77e457acc9ec3f4cd0a585b024e Can’t go wrong with the Valerion, I got the stream master 2 a few weeks back, it was on sale! But the gaming experience is by far one of the best!
r/projectors • 4K Gaming Projector Buying Advice ->They are excellent, there is no real competition in terms of quality/price ratio except maybe the Nebula X1. However they are not perfect: they’re subject to speckle and RBE. You’ll need a matte white screen for the speckle. If you want to avoid RBE there is only Epson, all DLP projectors have it.
r/projectors • Valerion projectors. Are they any good? ->That’s gonna be so sweet. I’d say keep the screen, grab a nicer projector, and enjoy the big screen experience. The Valerion is considered a steal right now, but if you wanna keep the price sub 1000, the benq HT2060 does NOT disappoint. Obviously no projector is going to have the black levels of an OLED, but imo the much larger theatrical screen of a projector makes it so worth it. You have the space, you’re planning on controlling the light with black paint anyway, you might as well make the most of that space and keep the projector setup.
r/projectors • Purchase new laser projector or put up OLED. Opinions please ->If you don’t need extra brightness, Valerion is a better option than Nexigo. Just be aware you may have to choose the screen carefully for RGB laser projectors. But if your room has all-white ceilings, the black level may not differ too much. The extra brightness, almost doubled, could give you a better HDR/DV experience. XGIMI is great if you need more flexible position with its optical zoom and lens shift.
r/projectors • Best home/lifestyle projector in the low to mid $1000 range? ->The Valerion would be my pick just now but I tend to watch dark content at night.
r/projectors • Best projector under 1,500$ - The Hook Up comparison ->I got the valerion when it was still on kickstarter, best thing ever! Took forever to come tho. It was such a difference from my old projector (benq)
r/projectors • Seeking advice for next projector. Budget is $5,000. ->I just got it and playing PS5. Looks great with next to no lag. Coming from an Epson 3800. The valerion is fantastic.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->Valerion does not have VRR. LS12000 has 5000:1 native contrast (25k:1 dynamic) vs the Valerion 2000:1 native (10k:1 dynamic). Epson won't have RBE for people who are sensitive to it. Valerion is a great value, but there are still benefits Epson can offer.
r/projectors • What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? ->The best projector under that budget is the Valerion which will blow those two out of the water.
r/projectors • Bought an expensive and a cheap projector. Time to see which one I keep ->I just LOVE how the Valerion punches so far above it's weight. Such a great projector at a pretty damn good pricepoint IMO.
r/projectors • 6 PREMIUM Home Theater Projectors - 2025 Review "The Hookup" ->I don’t have any experience with the Hisense so I can only speak about the Valerion. It’s super bright and the colors pop, which I think is pretty common with DLPs. The black levels are pretty damn good. It’s not the inky blacks that my LG OLED produces but honestly it’s good enough for me and the huge image it produces more than makes up for it. I’m using it in a room that is not light controlled and my setup is far from optimal but it looks fantastic. It runs super quiet and the build quality and design is impressive. I feel like if Apple made a projector it would be something like this (just in terms of material and attention to detail). No major downsides so far. 3D has been okay, nothing mind blowing. Lack of vertical lens shift isn’t great but I knew that going in. Even though it has built-in Google OS, I feel like my ONN dongle works better for consuming content. Overall I’m really happy with the purchase. Only slight regret is that maybe I should have waited for the Max but I’m too impatient for that.
