TL;DR: Great picture, good gaming, but pronounced RBE and no lens shift.

This video convinced me to buy the Valerion Pro 2. Espc. coz there’s a bundle deal going on their website ; matte white screen, ceiling mount and pro 2 for $3099. I do hope the screen is of good quality though. They didnt mention a name :/

I was in a similar hunt to yours till recently. I just bought the Valerion Vision master Pro 2 bundle on Amazon for $2699 (w/mount, 3d glasses, hdmi cable). Picture quality is great and I’m just projecting on a white wall now! Watch the hook up guys YouTube video on it for a detailed review

I was debating the same thing and ended up with the Valerion Vision Master Pro 2. It’s great. Watch the Hook Up guys review on YouTube. That sold me.

I have a 135" woven acoustic from silver ticket for my visionmaster pro2 and love it. Picture still looks great with ambient light.

Yeah with any projector a lot of ambient light will reduce the contrast but it doesnt completely wash it out.

In my opinion theyre very good. Especially if you have dark walls or curtains you can pull to avoid light reflection. If you really care that much about super deep blacks an oled might be your best bet. With good light control and dark walls projectors are awesome but they arent going to be as dark as an OLED.

Theres a sale on the Valerions right now. Multiple packages of projectors, screens, audio systems. Just depends on your price point

Just got a Valerion. Ive been watching "the hook up" on youtube and hes done thorough tests and disagrees. What is bad about the valerion for the price?

I got the pro 2 which was 3k and came with a screen. But I see. The only thing I’ve noticed is speckle. And that’s only when I’m on YouTube. I don’t really use subtitles.

Yep. I have the Valerion VisionMaster Pro2 but I will be moving to the Noir Max for lense shift with the added bonus of much lower 4k 60 input lag when gaming.

I would recommend watching some YouTube videos by TheHookup. Generally in the price range you’re looking at it’s hard to beat the Valerion, but if you go that route you need to be aware of screen material because non fresnel ALR screens result in laser speckle. https://youtu.be/F6mFV7XQC3o?si=Ohb3F—GpyDk8jOW

I have a dedicated space with a 5.2.4 setup and was looking to get something more immersive than my 77in g3 for movies but also be good for some gaming (PC hooked up via HDMI). Ive been absolutely blown away by my Valerion Vision Pro 2. I haven't owned any other projectors so im sure some of the other really smart people here can recommend something, but just my personal opinion is that the Valerian Pro is really nice!

Definitely would consider throw distance. I recently got the Valerion pro 2. Upgraded from a benqtk700sti and it's really good. Very bright great contrast and its softer on the wallet. You can find deals for it on eBay

Not sure where you can actually buy it. The only price I'm seeing other than the Kickstarter is in a Google search where it is priced at ten million dollars. They then really direct you to the Kickstarter. So, price is just on Google, not in reality. There were some units which went out as demos to reviewers. Not sure if someone is selling their units or something like that. I'm sure that wouldn't be okay with XGimi.

Those suggesting the XGimi Titan Noir Max are giving the best information I would say. Yes, you can use a projector with a shorter throw distance like the Valerion, which is a solid product, but the XGimi has better throw range, and really good lens shift, which should make you setup much better overall. You will need to figure out audio as well here. The projector speakers may be decent, but they are behind you and decent would be the best case. Bluetooth is a bad option. So, cabling is required between the projector and a speaker to get decent audio.

Sonos and Apple TV I think has a setup that deals with any audio lag to the video and syncs everything up. It would be what I would do in such a setup. Do some homework on the best audio options here. You may want to ask in a more audio or streaming device friendly area to narrow things down. Apple also has their speakers which I'm sure would do a decent job. Less than ideal to be forced to an external streaming solution, but it's what I made my client do with the Valerion install I did.

Do NOT buy an ALR screen. They have significant issues with sparkling, image uniformity, and hot spotting. The sparkling being the most obnoxious thing in my experience. Get a standard white screen, or a standard grey screen. I'm not sure if anyone has done testing with Elite to know which materials work best with RGB laser projectors or not. This thread does talk about Silver Ticket materials... The main advantage of a projector is size. You can get a 135" diagonal from a projector, which no TV that's affordable can possibly deliver. At 100" diagonal, TVs are the way to go most of the time. If your space supports it, just get a decent TV. Models like the Valerion Pro are solid enough and give good viewing, but they will suffer, as all projectors do, in any type of ambient light. I'm working with someone who will end up doing a 135" setup for his theater specific space, but will also have a couple of 100" displays in the rest of his basement for viewing in different areas.

Lifestyle models are basically taking over the home theater market in that price range. But, there are models which absolutely trash the old home theater models. Xgimi with their Horizon 20, the Valerion Visionmaster models, the Nexigo Trivision Ultra. These are all a different box around the projector, but the image quality they are delivering is really exceptional. Yeah, I've had issues with the format as well, but it is what the industry is doing at this point. More lifestyle models, less home theater specific models. The BenQ HT2060 is a solid 1080p LED projector, but for the money, there is just no chance I would purchase it.

Elite Screens has some 'Yardmaster' series of screens designed for outdoor use. Be aware, it will struggle during the daytime, if it is usable at all. The sky is crazy bright, and projectors, even bright projectors are not able to compete. The Valerion models, and XGimi Horizon 20 series of projectors are solid choices. I like the Horizon 20 a great deal due to their inclusion of optical zoom and optical lens shift. Almost unheard of from any other model at this price point.
