I got myself a viewsonic lx700 4k RGB (customer return discount) for 900β¬. Pixel shift 4k, RGB laser source( laser speckle is a weird thing though, I was not qui ready for it), probably not the most high end build in the world. While it is only 1200 ISO lumen in normal modes, it feels super bright vs the born 1600 ISO lumen Epson eh tw 3200 it replaces. It has zoom and a tiny bit of vertical lens shift which can be a good thing for a high ceiling mount. Not a 100% reccomend, but if you manage to get a good deal as I have, not a terrible one either.
The laser speckle is also because I am projecting on a satin paint wall rather than screen. A matte screen with unity or lower gain would make most of it disappear ( I tried projecting on a matte surface and it is nearly invisible)
Just picked up a new Viewsonic Lx-700 off woot for $670. If anyone is looking a not budget projector on a budget I highly recommend this now that I have it. It blows my benq ht2050 out of the water. 3500 lumens, laser light source, 4k dlp (240hz 1080p), and a vertical lens shift. I'll be throwing it in my theater tomorrow assuming my new hdmi cables come, but for now I have it on the deck and I couldn't be happier.
