The X5 Pro is actually solid for \~300€ – 1100 ANSI lumens (real), Android TV with Netflix built-in, and quiet fan. The V1 Pro's 900 lumens claim is probably overblown. At 500€ total budget, you could grab the X5 Pro and have money left for a screen. Just know it needs a dark room, like all budget projectors. I [tested a bunch under £300 here](https://medium.com/@dejan-k/the-only-projectors-under-300-worth-buying-in-2026-9ff8ed3156db) – the X5 Pro is a noticeable step up from those.
In total darkness, both will look good. Vali's 200° gimbal is actually great for ceiling viewing. X5 Pro is still brighter (1100 vs 550-650 measured) and quieter (26dB vs 28dB). For €10 more, X5 Pro is the better projector. But honestly? In a dark room, you won't regret either. Flip a coin 😄
X5 Pro. Real brightness is 1100 ANSI (confirmed by multiple retailers). Vali 1 Pro claims 900 ANSI but independent testing measured around 550-650 in real world. That's a significant difference. Fan noise: X5 Pro is ≤26dB, Vali 1 Pro is ≤28dB. Both have Google TV with Netflix. For €10 more? X5 Pro wins.
Better than X5.
Yes. OK. Go for the one that suits your budget and needs.
Slightly better without keystone correction. Get DLP projector if you want perfect corner sharpness.
X5 Pro is 2.7 Kg. As long as it can hold that, you are good to go.
The picture quality is actually very good if you are using an external 4K HDR streaming device like Fire TV 4K, PS5, XBOX Series S,X, Apple TV 4k etc. The wanbo is decoding the 4K HDR signal into a wayyyy better Full HD picture. So using a external device is recommended for better quality than using the onboard streaming apps. The Full HD you are getting from an external 4K device is somewhere between FullHD and QHD
In 2018, I bought an LG HF60LS — a 1400 ANSI lumen, compact, quiet projector. I plugged in an Android dongle and used it for years, then handed it down to my son, and now he’s using it. Years later I needed a new projector for the bedroom and turned to cheaper options: Xming Page One, Wanbo X5 Pro, and BladeCine Cube 600... None of them come close to the LG. The colors are terrible, they’re not bright enough (the X5 Pro was bright, though), and that actually matters a lot. It’s even more important than resolution. I’d take an old Epson or a projector from any serious brand over these new Chinese trashy ones. Now I’m looking for a Viewsonix X11.
i got this one like 6 months ago for 225 with a 3 year extended warranty from amazon. i leave it on all night long every night playing stuff and so far so good. its definitely one of the better ones out there even to this day.
meh i know plenty of people that get multiple years out of them. literally 10s of thousands of amazon reviews for these and yes a percentage of them fail but if you clean the filter and get a decent one they last at least a year. with a 3 year warranty i could care less. ive used mine every day for 6 months leaving it on all night every night so thats 10 hours times 160 days so 1600 hours of play time at full brightness. its a wanbo x5 pro. some people dont watch that much tv in many years.
Blew my top? Lmao if you think calling someone a moron is blowing my top idk what to tell you. You must not get out much to.be this offended . I didn't misread who I replied to? If I say something is well reviewed when talking to someone else and you chime in out of nowhere " well actually all good reviews for that product are fake bots " I think I'm allowed to insinuate your position on the product considering the context of the subreddit . I hope you are actually pretending you are this stupid, or else I might have to bring out some bigger words and you might actually get really offended. And it turns out I was right I don't know why you keep telling me I read it wrong and you had nothing to do with the other comment, when you literally just said the exact same thing he did about it not lasting a year. So what was the whole thing about me reading it wrong? Your opinion is copy pasted from his because you have no critical thinking skills of your own. And somehow my argument against him is not valid against you? Make it make sense Moron . There have been many studies done on Amazon reviews and it is usually 20-30% fake with a max of 40% so again out of 10s of thousands of reviews if they all fail in less than a year I don't think most of them having a 4.9/5 stars would be possible. But then again, you're the expert and know everything so I guess I have to defer to you the person with no experience owning the product.
I recently bought Wanbo X5 pro, quality, brightness and clarity all good. I am happy. But I am facing a bad issue where the Keystone, obstacle avoidance are not working I tried calibration, factory rest nothing seems to work. I raised a replacement to see how it goes.
